I can’t say enough good things about this stay. Truly one of my best experiences through VRBO and others. Everything was PERFECT! We loved it and wish we could have stayed longer. The hosts were so helpful and kind. The views were beautiful, and the home was immaculate. It was quiet and peaceful. My daughter who is 7 months old actually enjoyed the grandfather clock lol. :) we can’t wait to come back when we have another race weekend. Thank you again for a cozy stay Jeffrey and Melanie!

What a lovely place! The setting is so unusual and inspiring, right between the seemingly endless marshes on one side and Delaware Bay on the other. The house itself as neat as a pin, with everything fresh and well-organized. Perfect as a a base for exploring local history and local nature or just for slowing down from the busy world. Redwing blackbirds call from the reeds, gulls arc above the bay, and we did see one bald eagle a bit inland on the Fortescue road. Along the Bay, there's a long, long clean stretch of sand for walking and ruminating.

Amazing location: you can look out on the water at the front and watch the sun rise over the wetlands from the bedrooms. Beach is nearby The house is very comfortable, everything seems new and there are lots of amenities and attention to details. It was clear the hosts want to make sure you have everything you need and have a good stay. Jeffrey was very nice and great with communication. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Everything was great! If you are looking for a place on the bay with a great view, very quiet, extremely clean and well stocked, comfortable, easy access to bay beaches, fishing and bird watching...The list goes on. HIGHLY recommended. In our travels up and down the east coast renting homes this is easily in the top three we have ever stayed at. We have been doing this for twenty years.You will not regret staying here.

Kitchen/living great room set-up beautiful, all new island with seating, dining table area. Roof deck off the great room with view of the whole wide world.Host is affable and concerned with your needs and your comfort....leaving a glowing, positive review with the fear that this rental and beautiful area will get discovered and become so popular that reservations will become too competitive and difficult... for now, it's still possible to snag a piece of this slice of heaven on Earth.

If you're looking for a vacation to completely unwind and unplug, this is the place for you. The home and surrounding countryside is gorgeous and oh so peaceful. We went to an arts and craft festival in Greenwich which is a lovely little town and worth the drive. There's an incredible Indian restaurant in Milville, loved it. There's the cutest little shop not far from the house (near the local seafood restaurant) that has an artsy vibe and is filled with merchandise from mostly local artists. I could go on and on, we loved it so much. The biggest bonus is the beach is loaded with seaglass, woohoo! We can't wait to go back!!!

We did a tribute to our mothers who both recently passed from dementia. Right after, we found this heart in the sand. What a wonderful sign to know they were right there with us!

The hosts provided great info before we traveled which was great. We very much enjoyed our stay. It felt like staying at a friend's place with the right amount of personal touches. As the hosts told us, be prepared to prepare your own meals if off season and not on a weekend. We brought our food/drinks from home/grocery store. The hosts even had coffee, tea and milk stocked for us. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals and clean up. The bedroom was quiet and comfortable. The view from the living room and deck was so relaxing. We loved the tidal clock on the wall to help us time our quick short walk down the street to the beach. We enjoyed walking the beach in the morning and in the evening for sunset.

We enjoyed a lovely, quiet getaway at Jeff and Melanie's home. Everything was clean and decorated so nicely! Great view from the balcony and loved walking just a short distance to the beach to hunt for sea glass (which we found a lot of). Perfect spot for a few days of rest and relaxation!

For an exceptional quiet, clean, and comfortable stay in Fortescue, Eagles Nest is a great place. The kind hospitality of the owners/Lamberts fills the visit. A beach on the Delaware Bay and marina are a stone's throw from the Nest. Enjoyable in every way.

What a beautiful and super clean home. Communication with the host made everything more enjoyable and pleasant. Host thought of everything possible that we could need and then some. The rooms were beautifully decorated and looked like right out of a magazine. There were extra blankets and pillows in every room. The kitchen and bathroom has everything you need. It was such a pleasure to relax in this home. If you want to fish or crab, they are kind enough to lend you their fishing and crabbing gear. So close to beach and marina. Neighbors were very nice. Everything was perfection. Definitely our new favorite vacation location. 10 is not good enough. We give it a 10

Had a great relaxing time, the house was clean and very comfortable! The owner left us a delicious loaf of zucchini bread and the fridge was stalked with creamer and milk for all our coffee needs! Will look forward to visiting again!

Weekend Getaway

Perfect place to stay while exploring the area. Beautifully decorated, thoughtful extras, fantastic views, and super communicative and friendly hosts. They even left us pumpkin bread—which we devoured! Highly recommended.
