We’ve stayed at Destin West many times but this was the first time in a penthouse. The views were fantastic! The condo was well appointed with plenty of room for 5 people. Best Beach Getaways was on top of their game as a host. Great way to kick off summer!

We had a great time at this condo in Destin. Check-in was a breeze. The condo was clean and comfortable. We loved the view from the balcony which overlooked the pool and the bay. There are several restaurants within walking distance and the beach access was not too far.

Wonderful views and great location

We loved the pool and lazy river. We enjoyed the views of the bay and the rooftop 360 degree view. The balcony was wonderful to sit and relax on and enjoy the morning sun and afternoon shade outdoors.

Adult Volleyball Getaway

We absolutely loved the place!! Jim was super responsive and was able to accommodate us with an early check in which was super stellar. It’s close to everything in fort walton and just a quick walk from the boardwalk and the pier. The lazy River was a blast. I noticed when I read the reviews before booking several people had mentioned the floors being dirty.. this wasn’t the case during our stay. Everything was super clean and the floors were barefoot friendly! Lol. I would definitely stay here again.

beautiful view!

Nice view and location! Floor was dirty. cleaning people looked as though they have never cleaned the track in the sliding door. wish the had a broom and mop to use. would have been nice if we would have known no coffee comes with makers, I would have brought my own. they don't offer any extras at all. But the view is great! Pool was super cold could not get in, disappointing..we were there at the end of October

Overall our stay was nice. The only complaint I had was accessing one side of the condos to the other. It’s a long walk and too many elevator changes. We both were on canes ( me having back surgery last year and my boyfriend getting ready to have knee replacement next month) so getting around was difficult. We will definitely get a ground level next time. I booked the penthouse thinking about the view, and it was wonderful. I loved the lazy river. The waterfall in the main pool didn’t work. It would have been really nice to have a Tiki bar by the pool area. We did like our condo but the mattress was a bit too firm. I would recommend Destin West to my friends.

Enjoyed it but could've been better

On the day of us traveling, I had to call every number I had to reach someone to get check in instructions. I was told they had already been sent to me & check my spam. No they hadn't & it was kinda rude how I was talked to over that. The condo really needs better maintenance as there was rust and seemingly mold in one of the bathrooms. It could've been cleaner. We carry Lysol wipes and went and bought a swiffer for the floor. Not ideal to clean on your vacation when you've spent $3k.. We alerted them about the mold and I added the cleaning part. They didn't care. The communication of the people managing it needs work. The pools are great so the kids really enjoyed them. We couldn't find a couple of items once back home and so I wasn't driving myself crazy looking for nothing I emailed asking if they'd seen them simply so I'd know. I was told they'd ask housekeeping and get back to me. No one ever did and truthfully, I expected this. We ate some meals there but their kitchen isn't stocked well with the appropriate things. They could definitely work on that as well. It wasn't as great as the pictures. It was just mediocre. Meh

Road to the Beach Tournament

The place is in need of renovation and upgrades. Cleaning was poor, and curtained stained etc. property mgmt did an awesome job and was on it once involved. The condo just needs some TLC!

Floors Dirty

Most everything was good except the floor was dirty. After walking around from 5 pm till bed time, my husband white socks was so dirty I had to throw them away. My feet was black on the bottom. Had to wear flip flops the rest of the week to keep our feet clean. Other than that the experience was satisfactory.

Great location

Our family had a great time but I wish we had known about volleyball week because every evening from 4-11 it was like spring break. Not so kid friendly environment but the condo was amazing and the amenities are a huge draw to come back !! It would be nice to have some beach toys and a cooler at the condo to be able to use. Overall we had a wonderful trip!!!!

Wonderful time in Pelican PH04

We had such a fantastic time at Destin West, Pelican PH04 and highly recommend. Any issues we had were dealt with literally in moments. And those issues were very slight (door code, how to work the tv/cable. I guess the folks before us took all the batteries out of the remotes!) Management was great! Could not have asked for a better place to stay! We hope it’s available again next summer! Thank you to everyone!

Good overall

Condo was clean. Master toilet had flushing issues the first couple of days. Although the owner sent maintenance right away. Master cable box didn’t work, had to have it switched out. Again owner sent someone quickly to fix it. Ice maker stopped working second day. Keypad battery died to condo, owner sent someone with a key that day and someone to fix the keypad the next day. Would have loved to be closer to the beach, will book beach side next trip.

Good not great

Pros Comfortable bed Nice selection of pools Easy check in and out process Cons Condo was dirty. Surface looks clean, but floors are very dirty. Master shower and sink does not drain properly. So much water in tub when showering you have to take a quick shower. Floors are dirty, can’t go without shoes or feet will be black on the bottom. The rooftop light was not working, so that feature of the property was useless at night. The dryer takes forever to dry clothes. The 2nd bathroom toilet does not flush properly. Pools and spas was dirty most the time .

Beautiful views but lack of sleep

We stayed in the condo from April 30-May 3rd, and arrived right after 4p. Cleanliness was subpar to say the least. The coffee pot had dirty water in it and there was someone’s hair on the sides of the shower walls in the hall bathroom. My only other complaint was that the bed is so firm it was like sleeping on concrete. My husband and I went to Walmart to by a foam mattress topper to make it somewhat bearable. We even thought about driving home the night before we were supposed to checkout just to get in our own bed. Other than that, the resort is beautiful. The lazy River is basically where we spent our whole time. The view of the bay from the condo is picture worthy. If you are wanting to spend time on the gulf side, I suggest looking for a condo on that side of the resort. It’s quite a walk after building hopping, and going over to the cross walk and through the entire resort on the other side of the highway to FINALLY get to the ocean. But if your looking for something relaxing and more interested in the lazy River and pool area than the beach and sand, then this condo works fine.

Excellent stay

Great stay. Great location. Great amenities. Condo was largely comfortable. Dishwasher needs to be updated as it does not thoroughly clean most dishes. Internet was out first day but owner was very responsive and got it taken care of. Some of the pillows should be replaced as they are stained. Overall great stay. Would say comfortable for 4 and squishy for any amount more
