Garbage stay away from this unit and Chris he is horrible on every level and left us with a unit that had no working bathroom lights, the run around blaming the property and it is definitely not remodeled with disgusting windows one can not see out water leaks in this unit

Relaxing Time on the Lazy River

The property was as pictured. It is already showing wear from the advertised renovation. I imagine it gets a lot of use. It was somewhat awkward being above the lower walk-out units as the balcony overlooked their patio and grill area. The lazy river was the highlight although if you are early to bed or have little ones it can get very loud at night. It closes at 10 P.M. which was nice. We found several nights the party moved from the lazy river to the balconies and patios. The condo itself was basic. We had to setup the TVs as the cable cords in all of the bedrooms were unplugged. Smart TVs would have been a nice upgrade for all of the TVs. The humidity inside the condo was a bit much. Everything felt damp all of the time. We kept the doors closed as instructed but it was always wet inside. The manager requests communication via text and takes a while to reply if you prefer communicating through VRBO as I did. Primary shower fixtures need updating, they are corroded and could easily cut someone’s hand. We did not use the jetted tub. The light switches work, although they too could have been updated in the renovation. Primary windows are cloudy taking away from the view. Doors, front and back, are very hard to open. I provided a list of lightbulbs to the manager that were out which did add to the worn out look and feel. I would book again at the Destin West, but I’m not sure if I would book this particular one again.

Great stay. One pool (the biggest one) was not heated but the beach, resort and condo are perfect. A little hiccup with the resort management and painting the floors, but Communication with Chris was good so it made up for it. I highly recommend renting here.

Updated comfortable and clean

We booked this condo for a beach volleyball tournament and it was perfect! The communication from day 1 was quick and thorough. I had some questions as we booked several units through different companies and hoped for them to be close. This unit was the nicest that we booked. It was more updated and had a great feel. It was very comfortable. The kitchen has everything we needed. It was a quick walk to the beach across the street through the sky bridge. Walking distance to food and bars. The lazy river and hot tubs were a hit. Will absolutely book this one again!

Presser Beach trip

We enjoyed the pool areas for the kids . Everything was in walking distance and this was very nice , So many sweet families all around enjoying all that you have to offer . We all agree the only change we would suggest is new rug in LR and new cleaning products for the floors. Other then this we had everything we needed. We would book again, particularly having kids, Great place to stay.

Nice place to stay.

The property is nice. We loved the fact that we could swim in the gulf, in the bay, or the pools. The biggest flaw we saw was the cleanliness at check in. They charge alot for a cleaning fee and the condo should reflect that. Overall, we would definitly stay here again, we had a great time.

We have stayed at Destin West Bayside and Gulf side for many years, love them both, it never gets old or boring. The location is perfect and the amenities are amazing!

Fun spring break stay!

We really enjoyed our time at Destin West. Condo was clean and nicely decorated. Kids loved the lazy river, pools and hot tubs. The beach was beautiful! We enjoyed having The Boardwalk close by for dinners, drinks and ice cream. We would definitely stay there again!

Nice property and responsive manager

We love Destin West. This was our first stay at this property. We loved it. A couple of small items (that we could live with) we addressed almost immediately, including installation of a brand new stove. Chris and team are all over it

Looked better in pictures

This unit was not adequately cleaned. Toilet in Master was broke and took almost 48 hours to fix. Refrigerator had mismatched handle that someone attempted to replace. And it was broken. Dryer vent was broken and and is definitely a fire hazard. Beds were difficult to sleep in due to worn down mattresses. Stove top was sadly abused and scratched. Shame someone would treat a unit like this. Overall, not a great experience for us. We won’t be back to Pelican.

Excellent Location

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back to stay here. The check-in process was easy and convenient. Chris communicated everything we needed to know in order to make the most out of our stay. We enjoyed all the wonderful pools and the Lazy River. The beach was a short walk across the road, and was never overcrowded. Everyone was super nice and showed great southern charm. You will not find this easy-going laid back, friendly demeanor in people up north. Thanks for a stress free week of living!

Beautiful area!

Perfectly placed in the middle of all the shopping and entertainment. The price isn’t painful either. The beach is right across the street but if you have disabled ppl in your party that can’t walk the distance across the bridgeway then you can drive to the parking garage across the street and follow the signs to the beach ramp. They rent chairs and umbrellas for $25, the guy running the chair rental was the nicest most polite young man. The place was exactly as described, clean and cozy. Lots of extra pillows and towels in the room. Right above the lazy river, but not noisey at all. Pools were all well maintained every morning. Only issue we had was the door code, we tried 1 minute early to get in and it wouldn’t work. We called the property manager listed in our email (don’t go to the front desk) and he returned our call within minutes but we had already gotten in the room. So just a little FYI if you try early it wont work and takes 2 mins for the door to reset itself for you to try again. It would be nice if they put that in the email so dumbies like us know. I will stay again and will recommend to everyone.
