We loved staying at Gulf Dunes! Our condo was clean and had everything we needed. Both pools were super clean! The beach and our beach chairs that came with the condo were a bonus! We will definitely be back!

Just like staying at your poor 80 year old grandmothers condo

This condo needs renovation. The walls are chipping, the lighting and furniture is really old and dark. I love sitting on patios, but we couldn’t do it because the paint would come off on your skin. The bunk room is so small it should be called a closet (oh and it has no closet or place to put any clothes). This unit was a huge disappointment. Kitchen pots and pans were dirty and there was only one pot holder and not enough silverware for the number of occupants it holds. There were no Champaign flutes, only 2 wine glasses and NO ice trays!

Beautiful

It is a beautiful condo. I loved how easy it was to get to the beach from the first floor. The beds are comfortable and the linens are clean! The couches and chairs weren't as comfortable. But thankfully your not spending put time sitting inside anyways. It was so easy to walk across the street for food too!

Awesome trip!

The condo was spacious and nice, and the location was fabulous! We loved the pool and also the proximity to the beach. We walked to several places close by. There was a plumbing issue, and a maintenance person came promptly and had it fixed quickly. The only other issue was the bed in the master bedroom was extremely firm. We'd love to go back soon.

Great trip

We enjoyed the Okaloosa area and the rental worked very well for the 6 of us. 1st floor (above parking) was convenient and made it easy to use the stairs when needed. Very close to the beach and walking distance to souvenir shopping, dinner and ice cream. We cooked quite a few meals and the kitchen was well stocked. Thanks for the great trip!

Spring Break Trip

The property was a great place for our family to stay during our time in Destin. The condo was walkable to the beach and shops and the views were incredible. Our only complaint was that the sliding glass door to the balcony was very hard to slide open and close. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Decent place, needs a little updating

The good: Looks like the pictures. Great view. We didn't expect this, but being in the lower level was actually good for the view. The sand dunes block view of everyone at the beach, from the tops of the umbrellas to the surf. This is good because you get a nice natural view of the ocean and the dunes without ppl it. Fully furnished kitchen. It was very clean and had lots of towels. Price is reasonable. The bad: Knives need sharpening, very very dull. Balcony table is too big. Master bedroom was much warmer than rest of condo. Needed some patch work on walls in a couple of places. Tv was unwatchable at night. No idea why it would not connect to the wifi. Couches were ok at first, but grew to be very uncomfortable. Sliding doors were not locked upon arrival. Didn't realize the main sliding door lock didn't work till night 3. Later I found a bar that locks the door, but it's mostly hidden by the curtain. Anyone can climb up to the balcony because part of it is directly above the pool area. No plug in protectors for little kids. Couldn't get anyone in the phone to check out. App doesn't have a place to check out. We ended up just leaving without contacting anyone. Verdict: we are looking forward to coming back.

Great time

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Gulf Dunes! The location was perfect and view was great. Our only two complaints would be that the furniture, esp the couch is SUPER uncomfortable and worn. Many times while sitting, the frame could be felt as you sat on it. Also, there needs to be more living room furniture. Our family of six could not all fit on it, therefore had to use kitchen chairs in order to sit together. Another thing that would be very nice to have would be an ice maker. Being on the beach, obviously you’d like a cold drink without having to refill ice trays.

Needs Improvements

This unit needs remodeling. All the furniture is very worn and we felt disgusted sitting at the kitchen table and on the couch because it had stains and the table was sticky. No cleaning supplies available for use. Very loud because you are right next to the pool and can hear everything throughout the day and night. The patio furniture is extremely worn that the paint chips and sticks to your legs and clothes every time you get up. Not worth the price. The positives are the convenience to the beach and pool.

Nice place

The place was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for our family of 4. It was nice having a washer & dryer in the unit. The appliances worked well. It is a very quick walk to the beach. Which is nice because you can go back for lunch and snacks easily. The pools are right on the way back, which my kids really enjoyed. Some of the furniture is a little worn. It’s not posh but it’s comfortable and everything was clean and worked perfect for us. Nice view from the balcony.

Needs to be renovated

The unit is very spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. There was a large amount of towels and washcloths. The rental agency was also quick to respond and take care of a couple of issues as well. When it comes to the unit itself. It is in great need of a renovation. It has old stained carpet in the bedrooms and the furniture and decor seem to be the same that the unit had when it was built 15 or so years ago! The paint is cracked and chipping off in areas as well and on the kitchen cabinets. It is nice being on the first floor when it comes to unpacking and going to the beach, but the downside is that you are right at the pool, so not much privacy. The dunes are also so tall you can't see much of the beach. We had fun at the beach and enjoyed our overall stay, but for the price, we would not stay at this particular unit again due to the above concerns.

4th of July Vacation

Loved not having to check in with anyone, the ease of just going straight to the condo was amazing. Watching the fireworks from the front balcony was so much easier than trying to go somewhere and fight traffic. The third bedroom well I wouldn't call it a bedroom it was more like a storage they just threw bunkbeds in it. There is no closet in there and to climb up to the top bunk was almost next to impossible. The paint on the kitchen cabinets is peeling off. Pool is a bit small but the beach was well worth it.

Spacious Condo

My family and I enjoyed the condo. The location is convenient and the beach was top-notch. The condo has a wonderful view of the gulf just behind the dune. There are two big bedrooms and a smaller room with bunk beds. If the carpet in the bedrooms would be updated I would have given five stars.

Lots of towels in the unit. Good supply of detergent and dishwasher packets Kitchen was well furnished. Carpet in dire need of either being cleaned or replaced. Sliding doors very difficult to move even after being serviced by maintenance

Perfect location - wonderful vacation!

This unit is wonderful! It was clean upon arrival and was equipped with everything we needed. Comfortable beds and furniture. Staff was friendly and attentive when we needed help on a few very minor things. Highly recommend this location! We all loved being right on the beach. The complimentary beach chairs and umbrella were an added bonus. When kids got tired of the beach they went up and swam in the heated pool. White sandy beach and blue ocean is some of the most beautiful I have ever seen! Will definitely book again! Condo needs just a little TLC and it’s perfect! Loved Fort Walton Beach!! Thank you Gulf Dunes for an awesome family vacation!

Clean, spacious, family friendly, and has a wonderful view!!

Condo was clean and beds were comfortable. We had a wonderful view of the gulf and it was only steps away as well. It was very kid friendly which was a must for our family! I was worried with a condo we would get a lot of noises from other units (we have only rented houses in the past) but this was not the case, it was extremely quiet. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this location!
