Great family vacation

This property was perfect for our long weekend family getaway. The beach service was so convenient. The pools were awesome. The condo is walking distance from many attractions including several restaurants, arcades and mini golf, and is next door to a boat rental service, which was also great for checking out nearby Crab Island and exploring the bay. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Property and Location

Great getaway!

My sister and I came for a two night stay the weekend after the 4th of July. The condo was clean and very bright and cheerful. The description and pics are exactly as posted. The complex was full and a little too loud for us, but it was still fun. It is perfect for families. The lazy river was clean and relaxing. My grandkids would have loved it! The beach is my happy place and I loved having our two beach chairs and umbrella included in our stay. That was a great perk! I recommend having someone go down a little before 9am to get your pick of chairs and then come back with all your stuff later. The skywalk is easy to access and is really nice. There were two pools on the ocean side and the smaller one has half the pool shaded. It was perfect to take a break from the hot sun for a bit and it was close enough to the beach to come and go as you need to. The only complaint I have is the sofa bed. My sister slept in the bedroom. I slept on the sofa bed because I usually wake early, and I liked having access to the balcony early in the morning. The sofa is pretty, but it was really uncomfortable to sleep on and it squeaked loudly every time I moved. It would be nice if they had a memory foam topper to pull out of the closet and put on top of the sofa sleeper at night. That's the only problem I had with the visit. Everything else was very nice. The pillows and linens were very nice. The weather was beautiful. We would definitely book a stay again.

Fantastic Family Getaway with Excellent Amenities

We had a wonderful stay at Destin West. It was my wife, our 22-month-old daughter, and I, and we all enjoyed our time here immensely. The property is fantastic, offering great amenities that made our stay enjoyable and relaxing. The lazy rivers and pools were a hit, providing endless fun for our family. The internet worked well, which was a pleasant surprise as we could stay connected without any issues. There was a wide variety of TV channels, which was perfect for winding down in the evenings. We also appreciated the books available for signing and the easy-to-use bracelets for the pool and beach access. One of the highlights was the complimentary beach service on the gulf side, which included two chairs each day. This added a lot of value and convenience to our beach outings. The location on the bay side in the Pelican building was serene and beautiful, making it a perfect spot for a family vacation. The only downside was the master bed and pillows, which were not very comfortable. This affected the quality of sleep we got. If I would have taken a neck pillow on the plane this would have helped, cause I could have used it. A lot of it's on me, but the bed wasn't a fit for me unfortunately. The owners were very communicative and provided us with a lot of helpful recommendations, which enhanced our stay. Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend Destin West for a family vacation. Thank you for the memorable stay!

Property and unit were very clean. The grounds and pool were cleaned daily. The workers would start early in the am so everything looked great by 10 am. Our unit overlooked the bay area as well as the pool. Great view and I actually like that we stayed on bay side better than ocean side. There is a walkway that takes you over to the beachside. There were 2 chairs included in our rental which was really nice. You have to reserve them every morning and the line starts early (8 or 9am) . I suggest reserving early and go back with your stuff later. The unit itself had everything we needed. It was just myself and spouse but 2-3 other adults could've been comfortable as well. Balcony was great and very relaxing. You can walk to serval different restaurants from the condo. Traffic can be tough at times but that is normal for the area.

Great Stay at Pelican 504!

We stayed in Pelican 504 the week of July 11th and had a great time! I stayed with just me and my two daughters and the condo worked out perfect. The location was great with a handful of places to eat and shops within walking distance. The beach service was a lifesaver and so easy to use! My girls LOVED the lazy river! It’s a great place for families to stay. There may be a few minor things in the condo that could use some updating, but nothing that would stop us from staying here again! And the owners were great at communicating and the check in was a breeze!

Cleanliness was very sub par. There was sunscreen all over front of ottoman, stains on the couch which you could hear the springs move every time you say in it, stain on the chair, big chocolate type stain on the curtain. Curtains don’t close all the way. Furniture in living room was very mediocre at best. I will say communication with owner was great and fast. I hadn’t informed them while we were there because I didn’t want to have people in and out during our stay. I felt it should have been clean when we got there, especially for the money you pay.

Nice property. Beautiful beaches and views. Property managers very responsive. Enjoyed Ft. Walton Beach. Property itself needs maintenance. Fitness center especially, which was important to me. Broken treadmills, equipment that was not maintained at all. Belts need adjusting, pulley bearings screaming for grease. Both hot tubs on bay side didn't have working jets. They said switches were ordered. We were there almost 5 weeks. Used to have activities there, not so anymore. Disappointed that many restaurants shut down until after March 1. No beachside services as advertised. The gorgeous beaches made up for some of this. Overall, a nice getaway...
