Wonderful Destin-ation

The property was wonderful and just as advertised. It was within a short walk to the beautiful beach, and within a short drive to all the tourist attractions on the main road. Our family had an amazing time and will definitely be back in the future.

First time visiting Destin

We absolutely loved the condo. It was so relaxing being inside. It was so beautifully decorated, clean, roomy, beautiful beautiful water, harbor, jetty and sunset views. It had everything we needed and then some. We appreciated the comfortable beds, full size bunk beds with a trundle bed, and the fold out couch which was so fun for movie nights. My only complaints would be the lack of elevator on the north end of the building (not the particular condo’s control), how competitive it was to get a front row seat on the beach in the morning (even arriving at 0640 wasn’t early enough), and how loud some of the guests were in the grilling pavilion area each night. Fortunately the patio door completely closed out all sound, it could only be heard when I was trying to relax on the balcony. I knew in advance to bring our own paper towels, toilet paper, hand and dish soap, and laundry detergent, so that wasn’t a huge problem. We flew in so I packed a few extra TP and TP, dishwasher and laundry tabs, and bought the liquids when we got there. The local Target and Dillons type store had everything very handy for short term visitors.

First time in Destin

For our first visit to Destin, this condo was in the perfect spot! It was right in the area with all the things to do and see. Was busy but we expected that for this time of year. Really enjoyed our stay, would recommend!

Beautiful condo!

Loved the condo and location. Only issue was with one of the two elevators not working properly and check in being a little late. Other than that, I’d give it five stars!

Good for a budget

I wanted to rent this property for location.looking at the listing I didn't recognize the properly is in a hotel setting. Paying a cheaper price I didn't n expect 5 star quality. I have 3 smaller children so I wanted to save budget for fun activities. Overall the room was clean. It was outdated but no worries. The kitchen is available and stocked with plenty of dishes. The view was amazing and a short distance to the beach. The room came with several amenities that were not listed including 2 chairs and an umbrella each day. There were several discounts available just by renting at the islander. My only complaint is the beds. You think of vacation and being able to rest. My husband and I toss and turned all night. We added extra blankets over the mattress in attempt to create better sleeping arrangement. We both woke up hurting due to the beds being so uncomfortable. Overall the room is great for a budget. I would not rent again due to bed.

Great location

The location of the condo is great. A very short walk through the yard to the boardwalk for beach access. The condo itself could definitely use some updating and deep cleaning. A few dollars spent on new shower heads would help drastically! Trying to wash sand and saltwater out of your hair with little water pressure was a treat! The master bedroom needs a fan to say the least. The rest of the condo stays nice and cold but oddly the master room is uncomfortably warm. Some lamps & mirrors are broken. Not a deal breaker but needs some attention. The amenities say there is a telescope, however, one could not be found anywhere in the unit. So don’t count on that! Overall the beach is the beach! Destin ended up being far too hectic for our taste and the condo is not close enough to walk anywhere. Driving 1 mile took an average of 15 minutes. There is plenty to do though. The staff were all super friendly and the beach service dude , Alan, was extremely efficient. TIP HIM WELL!!! The Islander was as advertised just this particular condo was less than expected.

beautiful views and comfortable condo

we had a wonderful stay. the views of the gulf and the lake were gorgeous. the islander has two pools and a very short boardwalk to the beach. The condo was cozy with comfortable beds and both sofas pull out into sleepers.
