The property was disgusting, dirty, and had a sour smell. It felt like a college house. The location and gold cart were the only positive attritions of the property.

Great neighborhood

It was great stay everyone was comfortable!!! Plenty of space. The people in the neighborhood were friendly!!! You don’t have to leave the resort for anything it has what you need!!!

September Get Away

We throughly enjoyed our visit. The condo was beautiful, with the exception of both the front and back door blinds desperately needing replacement. The pull out couch also had a big tear but did not change our opinion of the condo. The golf cart was a nice perk as were the bikes and many water toys. The condo was exceptionally clean, well supplied with bath linens but could have used another kitchen towel or two. Thank you for a wonderful, we will definitely be back!

Destin Softball Trip

The house was very comfortable. Clean, everything easily accessible. We loved taking the golf cart down to the activities at the Warf. We only went 1 day to the public beach access. It was nice to be able to ride the golf cart down there, but is was way to crowded for our liking. Besides that the house was nice. Describes just like the listing. We did have trouble with the washing machine and had to go to a laundra mat to wash all week. We had constant communication with the rental company, who were responsive. They had to order a part so it was kinda a hassle deal with, especially since we had to wash uniforms durning the week for the tournament. We would stay again 👍

It was just ok.

We arrived on a Monday. Our stay was for 7 days. Tuesday we went to wash a load of the towels and the washing machine was off balance very badly. We alerted Beach Walk Vacation immediately. They text back saying they had spoken with the property manager and that the washer was broken. They said they could provide us with a wash and fold service for the duration of our stay if we'd like. It was a huge inconvenience for us with our family to not be able to wash clothes. We had two small children whose clothes we could not have anyone launder do to allergies. We only use a certain detergent for them. Plus, our personal clothes I didn't feel comfortable sending them off with a company and not knowing if we'd get them back. As it was, we agreed to have them launder the towels, and wash cloths at least. They brought us a good supply but never came back to pick up the dirty laundry even though we were told they worked till 5pm. No one came. So we had to hang our towels and reuse them. Not happy in the least about that. The golf cart and bikes were a blessing. I do feel the pool near our unit was not properly maintained. It was hot water, lots of leaves from nearby trees everyday, and not clean. Wasn't refreshing at all. This stay was certainly different than our stay back in 2022. We did however book through the resort and not a VRBO or Beach Walk. Not sure if that made the difference or not. Next time, we will stay elsewhere!

Family beach get away

Quick trip with family to the beach-great location, loved having the golf cart-might add a mattress topper to the master bed(not very comfortable) but it was a great place to stay!

Sandestin

Sandestin is a awesome experience. Carting around the property was great, restaurants, golf courses, shopping etc was so entertaining. Only problem with condo was the lack of a few trivial items such as salt and pepper, no propane for grill, coffee filters for coffee maker and the TP paper was lacking any substance. 3 way lights fixtures are all wired wrong. needs some updating. Overall, was a great experience.

Great Location

The location of this property is great and to have a golf cart with bikes really helped our big group. The only downfall were the things that needed to be fixed around the house. We travel and stay at a lot of properties and this one needs a little work. Other than that we had a great time. The Beachwalk Property did step up when we had an issue with the air conditioner, they had someone out to fix within about 2 hours and it did get fixed.

Amazing Stay

We have stayed at many rentals on this property, however Villa Lago is by far our best experience. The pictures do not do justice as to how nice this house truly is. We had a great time just being on property, which included many amazing restaurants and things to do for the kids. I would recommend this rental for anyone who wants the absolute very best experience in Destin.

Beach house vacations is hard to contact.

The house had some damages. The review for the property said we could be charged with said damages if they weren’t reported. There was no one to contact for said damages. Even when I emailed, called and messaged via the Vrbo app. We forgot some belongings and there was no one to contact for that either! For having such strict policies, why is there no one to contact for any of this??

Just about perfect!

Awesome property to rent. We used the bikes and the golf cart the entire stay(no gas used$$$). Beautiful inside and out. We had ample room for three couples, two extra singles beds to spare. 6 seat golf cart allowed us to make a single trip every where we went. Please add a map of the area. Cleaning crew missed a few things.

Our Fav. SanDestin home so far..

Our 3rd time/home we’ve rented in SD resort. This home was the fav. so far. I’m big on dets, I research-reading thru previous reviews & pics before booking. I hope this helps. I’ll start with the great things-which far outweigh the few hiccups. Beach Orchid is luxury. Well built & beautifully manicured. Beachwalk vacation company & they called us to welcome us to town and give us a run down of check in-loved that. They were helpful, answered any questions we had about the house & stay. I loved that these homes are cleaned professionally. The linens are taken and professionally cleaned and restocked. Gone are the days of wondering if your hosuekeeper actually washed the linens. The beds/linens & towels were very clean. This home was very spacious. Plenty of beds/rooms. The washer/dryer were oversized which was super helpful for a large family going to the beach every day and washing lots of loads. The kitchen had every appliance you’d need/want for a week long stay. There were extras, a cooler to borrow(we didn’t need it) pool/beach toys, dvd movies, fire stick for tv. All the finishes of this house are high end and luxurious. The flooring, counter tops, doors, showers. The few snags: two 4 seater golf carts were advertised-which actually swayed us to choose this place over another like it. It would’ve been perfect for our family or 8. One cart wouldn’t work. We reported it & it was picked up the following day. It was a bummer but I’m sure out of the control of the owner. Upon arriving the home seemed quite clean mostly- there were a few noticeable concerns. The furniture in the living area while comfortable was quite dirty. There were stains, and obvious wear on the couch arms. We covered it w/sheets. ottoman had food dried all over it like maybe a toddler had eaten a banana and walked around putting its hands all over. A button was missing from the ottoman-its seen its best day. kitchen stool had a small tear in the seat. The kitchen table-great size seating 6 with extra chairs it also has seen its best day. The top is covered in scratches/marks and some food was on the chairs still. There are strange wall stains in various rooms. All the beds are so comfy except the king/mstr imo. Whoever chose that bed must have liked a firm bed. I think many of these things were a result of us visiting after the very busy summer. We would def. stay here again. Thanks for the great place for us to make awesome beach memories.

A little communication would go a long way

Location of the property is excellent - very convenient to Baytowne Warf and the beach. Layout of the property is great as well. We'd stayed in another unit just down the street last year and it was the reason we wanted to come back to the neighborhood. We were somewhat disappointed at the bare-bones nature of the property when we first arrived. There were no paper towels provided, no coffee filters or coffee supplies at all, and extremely sparse cooking supplies including knives so dull that they barely cut anything. Many of the pots and pans were beyond their useful life - severely scratched or not clean. The coffee maker basket had clearly been broken and was being held together by a twist tie - hardly sanitary. Honestly, we would have overlooked all of that had it not been for the surprise we got the first morning when we tried to take the golf carts to the beach. We weren't able to get the black cart to start in spite of charging both carts first thing in the morning. After calling the property manager, it quickly became clear that they were well aware of the inoperable cart, noting that we should "just use the other one until Tuesday when the repair team will be out to fix the mechanical issue." Since our check-out date was Monday, that wouldn't exactly help. We specifically chose this property and paid a premium for it because we needed TWO golf carts for the size party we had specified well in advance. The fact that the property manager knew about the issue with the cart and said absolutely NOTHING to us prior to arrival is completely unacceptable. Upon being notified about the other shortcomings of the property, there was no reply. All they offered to do after several irate phone calls asking for a replacement or substitute cart was to offer to refund us $25/day, despite paying over $60/day premium for the two golf carts over other properties that they manage. It blows my mind that all they had to do was email or call us to let us know that one of the carts wasn't working and proactively offer to offset our cost or get us a replacement. But no, I guess they just thought we'd figure it out on our own and be ok with the land ornament instead of an operable golf cart, as advertised. As much as I loved the neighborhood and the location of the property both this year and last year, I wouldn't rent another property managed by BeachWalk Vacations due to the completely disrespectful and inexcusable handling of this situation.

Cleanliness is next to...

I’ve stayed at Sandestin property multiple times but has never had to re-clean a property. The downstairs bathroom had a strong urine “PISS” odor (because we couldn’t locate a mop, my mother-in-law got on her hands and knees to clean the bathroom floor to get rid of the odor), the sheets or maybe it could have been the comforter - smelled like men’s cologne, the 2nd bedroom sheets had hair in it. We stripped all of the beds in the house and washed them. The sofa cover and pillow covers were filthy; I also washed them too 🤦🏽‍♀️. The downstairs guest room television never worked because the internet couldn’t support the technology through the house 😞 (the kids were miserable and my husband struggled to do much needed work). The house wasn’t horrible but I suggest that the owner/management company find a new cleaning company and upgrading the internet. Oh, let’s not forget... 2nd Golf Cart didn’t work and they said they would send someone but no one ever came. I’m finished after this - the back patio area wasn’t in the best condition.
