Ocean getaway

We loved the place. Beach decor, updated and fully functioning kitchen to keep our cost down by not eating out. We were within walking distance to the beach, big plus. And had our coffee every morning on the screened in deck, and drinks every evening. Beautiful

Quiet neighborhood with a walk to the beach

Loved our stay at The Sand. It was quiet, quaint, and just a few minute walk to the beach! I would recommend buying any cleaning supplies, coffee, spices, beach gear etc. you may need. Otherwise the stay was amazing and tucked away at the end of the block.

Lazy way Retreat

Quiet neighborhood with lots of local residents mixed with vacation rentals. Property was clean and well maintained. Outdoor screened balcony was a bonus. Gas grill was very handy. View off the screened balcony was lovely. The only drawback was the TV. The owner used a YouTube app as the only TV access. The app crashed often and the local management came out to fix it four times. Due to high inconsistency they should not list this property as having dependable TV. Other than that, we would recommend this property to others. We are thrilled to see Fort Myers Beach recovering after Hurricane Ian.

Not Recommended

We experienced several issues throughout a 10 day stay. This is a four-unit property, with two upstairs units, two smaller downstairs unit, and a shared washer and dryer. We stayed in one of the upstairs units and could hear normal conversation and TV noise from the unit below us. The unit we rented had damaged screens (one missing and three torn), lights that either did not work or were burned out, a heat pump that blew out cold air, and a shower with a large hole in the tile. The WiFi in the upstairs unit was nonexistent for the better part of a day and intermittent the rest of the time (making it difficult to watch TV since there is no cable). Forget about a WiFi signal on the screened porch. Outside of plates and silverware, kitchen supplies were minimal--four drinking glasses, one wine glass, no corkscrew or bottle opener, and one small cooking pot. On the plus side, the appliances are new and the place was relatively clean (other than the stove). Towels and bedding are plentiful. The office staff of the management company was very responsive, even during off-hours. The beach is about a five-minute walk, and there is a decent restaurant within a 20-minute walk. Traffic on the island, and SW Florida in general, is a mess, so be prepared to spend a lot of time in the car if you go into town or off the island during the day.

Would stay again in a heartbeat

The property is exactly as stated in the description. Very close to beach and a fantastic view of the canal. We returned one to to find the power was off, made one call and someone was there to get it fixed within 15 minutes. Nicely decorated, cozy, perfect place to stay. Would definitely rent again!

Great little hideaway on the island

We came for a long weekend to attend my father in laws 70th birthday. We decided to stay on the island since we love being near the beach. We will definitely try and book the same unit in the future as we will be spending a few months a year going forward. The only downside was the dishwasher did not work at all. Overall a positve experience. Hopefully we will be back soon.

I arrived 1.5 hours past check-in, housekeeping was there. I was not notified of a late check-in prior to this. I came back in an hour and was unable to get in. After MANY attempts and verifying I had the code PROVIDED I called Coastal Breeze as they are “managing” the property. No answer. I left several messages, emailed, called the maintenance number provided. Maintenance told me they did not have an account. I called VRBO who stepped up and found me a place for the night. Not ideal, but at least I had somewhere to go. At 11:30 that night Thomas contacted me and told me I would be refunded for the night, and he would look into it. He told me MANY times how odd it was that everyone else could get in, in a mansplaining sort of way. Makes me wonder if the code is rotated. He also said they didn’t have maintenance because there was a hurricane. Well, that hurricane was not in the prior week when I was sent the information. The next day I was told “maintenance” was able to get it and how odd it was I couldn’t. Then he texted me the FULL AND CORRECT CODE! Yea! I have been trying for a month to get a refund for that night, yet deserve two nights. He has been incredibly coy about this and ultimately said the owner of the property said no. Thomas is unable to show me where in the contract the FULL code was provided. Overall, the place itself was fine, just know the pics provided are of the adjacent property. Similar, yet different. I would not recommend staying anywhere CB manages.

Nice stay before devastation hit the Island

We are in pain to see the devastation after hurricane Ian hit this Island and other areas nearby. We have the feeling our stay was the last stay of people in this property. So unreal to see places on the island were we have been and they are totally gone. We had dinner next to the pier. Nothing is there anymore. Really feel sad 😞

Great place to stay!

We liked this place to stay very much. It was very clean and the pictures prior to arriving were accurate. We received timely instructions on how to access the rental along with contact info for any problems we might have, which were none. This rental is located centrally on the island and we walked to the beach, not too far. There’s also a Publix grocery close by. We went to several different areas on our stay, Sanibel, Naples, and Cape Coral, and found the central location to work very well for us. It was a 10-15 minute drive to the north end of Fort Myers beach where there are a lot more restaurants, bars, and the pier. We were happy with our choice and wouldn’t hesitate to stay if we are ever in the area again!

Pleasant and convenient property 4 blocks from the beach

This is a very nice property, and it is well-maintained. The screened porch on the second floor faces a canal, and is an enjoyable place to hang out. All the appliances are modern, but the kitchen could use some more tools and a blender. Furniture and beds are ample and comfortable. Excellent value for the price.

Great visit with nice location!

We had a great stay! Here are some suggestions: The kitchen could use more glasses and coffee mugs we felt that we had to run dish washer every day because there were only 4 cups only 1 large glass. The beds are comfortable but both beds had no mattress pads. The air conditioner broke but prompt service took care of issue which was appreciated. Traffic is bumper to bumper on Estero so bring your walking shoes! Overall, good stay😎

Suggestions

Very limited silverware, only four forks. When only staying there a week, it would make sense to provide more toilet paper and dishwasher pods. Doesn't make sense for us to buy a four-pack of toilet paper that we would not use or bring back on the plane. Also, it looks like in the master shower that the tile on the wall with the shower device was never completed. There are tiles missing and I'm sure you are getting water behind the wall.

Clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated apartment in a quiet neighborhood within short walking distance to great beach. We brought our bikes, and biked everywhere. It was chilly the week we were there so we appreciated the big smart TV with You Tube TV.

Excellent view and location!

My husband and I rented the property for a couple weeks to bring our two small dogs and just warm up during the winter. We were delighted that the beach is just a few blocks away! The house has a great view of a canal from the screened in porch and kitchen. We loved having two beds and two baths, simply to store things in the 2nd bedroom out of our way and for each of us to have a bath to use. There was a problem with the grill on site, but management of the property brought a new one within 24 hours. A very quick response and they brought a NEW grill! I don't think there was anything we were missing on premises. It was a phenomenal experience for us!

We love Lazy Way!

Beautiful clean condo in a great location! We absolutely loved it and will definitely want to come back. Only hiccup, which is NOT your fault but you should know: the neighbors across the street have talkative dogs that they leave out on the lanai all day. Their barking is incessant. Maybe talk to them about bringing them inside?
