The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly The Good: Great view. Comfortable beds. Dolphins. Excellent location on the north side of the island. Nice pool. The Bad: Everything in the unit is dated. Several things don’t work as they should — doors stick or won’t close properly, and the ceiling fan light bulbs flicker like strobe lights. The refrigerator sounds like a ticking time bomb when opened. The microwave handle is hanging on by the top screw only; the bottom is broken. One bathroom has a broken light fixture cover, and lighting overall is poor. The patio furniture is dirty, and the beach furniture is old, rusty, and gross. The coffee pot is old and disgusting. The dining table wobbles. The washer/dryer unit cannot run both at the same time — you have to use one or the other. The Ugly: When we first checked in, a large wall mirror — along with the wall anchors — was left laying on top of the table. The floor had not been cleaned at all; there was dust, sand, and debris everywhere. Most surfaces were dusty or dirty, including bed headboards, the insides and outsides of drawers, and louvered doors covered in dust. We ended up cleaning the vacuum cleaner ourselves — emptying it, cleaning the filter, and removing wrapped carpet threads from the beater bar — before we could even use it. In total, we spent 5–6 hours cleaning. We also had to buy hangers, beach chairs, a Swiffer floor cleaning tool, and cleaning supplies. If you’re here for a short visit and plan to eat all your mea
