Great stay

They messed up on our booking because friends of the owners were staying in our condo, but they made it right by giving us a penthouse so we couldn’t complain!

Pretty basic

The property was pretty and right across from the beach. Everything else was pretty basic. The VRBO did not include much of anything but thankfully the front desk had toilet paper. The property is not maintained well, but I guess I can't complain when we were so close to the beach. The couch was extremely uncomfortable and no one could sit on it. We all had to hangout in our own rooms because it hurt our bodies to sit on the couch to socialize.

trouble from the start

the room we booked was occupied by other people so they put us in the penthouse. we were glad to have a place to stay. it was nice but there were few working outlets, cracked doors, master bathroom door doesn’t close and a room divider for a wall that was paper thin and allowed light through the top and bottom from the other room. the first night was peaceful but the second night we had people in the unit next to us. they were extremely loud and disrespectful. security was up twice. this all started at 1:45 a.m. second night more of the same but with other neighbors. screaming and blasting television at 2 a.m. security visited them too. they post a quiet time but it is not enforced. we don’t get away often and this was a very disappointing vacation.

The unit was old barebones. The balcony closed in. The table was low so couldn’t look out vs having a high top table. The vents were filthy. The outside pool was dirty. Needs a whole renovation. Don’t get me started on valet parking only!!!! Really. To have to pay daily. I would not stay at this property.

Ocean Manor Resort is top notch FLL getaway

We stay at Ocean Manor Resort every year , it never disappoints , location, resort, staff, amenities, food, all you need is here! This was our first VRBO stay at the resort, past reviews stated some issues, the Red Awning Mgt, was quick to respond on initial correspondence , but a little more difficult to get to the bottom of the issues stated by prior guests. There was not a host response on the less than desirable reviews, so when we did arrive , yes there were still roaches in the kitchen area, I did purchase some spray and boric acid to put out during our stay for the week and within a few days I was sweeping dead roaches not live. The unit was very clean ( other than that issue ) and there were ample enough towels provided, as well as broom and dust pan for cleaning floors during our stay. It’s really nice to have a new washer dryer provided in your unit instead of having to use the public laundry room in the bsmt of the resort. The views are amazing and we so enjoyed the open deck overlooking the pool and the ocean. There are strip malls , McDonald’s, pizza, Winn Dixie grocery store all within walking distance as well. The valet parking , if you have a car is awesome, 15$ a day , come and go as you wish. Staff is super nice and accommodating and the Pool and Tiki Hut Food are the Best ! The Resort has umbrellas and chairs for 10$ if you choose to spend the day on the beach. All in all a wonderful experience to be had at Ocean Manor Resort!!!

Be aware of the cockroaches

The good- location was great with awesome views. Beds were comfortable. The chairs and umbrellas on the beach are $10 each a day, so beware as the description says $5. The bad- Very bare bones. Not a lot of towels for the kitchen and the bathroom. Very small coffee pot, maybe makes 1 cup. Rooms were missing molding, walls were dirty. We brought in sand and they didn’t give you a broom to sweep it up so we were constantly walking on sand on the tile floors. Nothing available to clean while you are there. Smelled pot constantly, even in the condo. Not sure if it came through the vents. Also really bad in the hallways and elevators. Parking you have to prepay at $15 a day. The really bad - there were bugs/roaches in the kitchen. We threw all our food away because of the amount of bugs. Lastly the property company was no help and we never heard from anyone as you get recordings when you call. And not sure if they change code between tenants. Don’t recommend staying in this condo.

Cockroaches in kitchen

Property is beautiful. Could use more lighting. TV in livingroom is not working properly and cockroaches (of all sizes) in kitchen. Reported it and heard nothing back.

Bugs, etc...

Check in process fine. Unit rundown. Cockroaches in kitchen (have photos). Holes in sheets (have photos). Other bugs in bedroom. Hardware falling off walls. All appliances worked fine. Nice beach. Valet team excellent. Incredibly noisy. Often smelled like weed in the elevator and hallway. Would not return to this property.
