Once upon a time the sand was coated in brightly colored bits of sea glass, and social media is full of photos that make it look as if the sand still looks that way, but that isn't the case. Over the years the public has raided the beach of much of its glass. Now at first look, some might say it looks like any other ordinary beach. Wonderful cottage in the woods. We had 6 people, very comfortable. The home is very well maintained, and clearly a higher end custom construction. Having a fire on a cold evening and hot tub session after hiking all day was so enjoyable. The home is kept extremely clean, plenty of dishes, pans, etc. The grounds are well maintained, and a private quiet stretch of private woods with trails.The home was highly convienent just a few minutes to the main restaurants in town, many forest, beaches, horseback riding, all in 5-30 minute driving range.Great place to stay!

We loved the house!! The host had a lot of specifications that made us a bit nervous to use things (i.e. hot tub, garbage and recycling, firewood, using towels and washing machine). These things required fees to use or had so many instructions that we just didn’t bother. The house was cozy, warm, and well thought out. So many thoughtful touches. The house is beautiful and well maintained. For a pet friendly house, it had zero animal odors or stains. We loved our stay.He did include in a pre-check in text an impatient and condescending video about how to operate the French doors. A tutorial would have been appreciated, the rudeness was not.However, the host was very easy to contact and he responded kindly and promptly.

This house is GORGEOUS! It was super clean and spacious enough for a group of people. The beds were all comfy, with lots and lots of extra blankets all around the house for the colder days. The kitchen had a huge selection of tools and gadgets you might need to suit your cooking needs. The couch was very large and comfortable, and we found ourselves very content lounging on it while it rained. The ocean is just down the street as well as downtown fort bragg, so the commute was very short and sweet. Overall, the property was very nice and I cannot wait to bring friends back to it again!

Wonderful location, only 5 minutes from town. Situated on a quiet peaceful road, in the middle of calm forest. Sitting on the deck on two warms days we had to relax was very nice. The kitchen has all the amenities you need and the house is in great shape. Jacuzzi was well maintained and we also enjoyed the fire pit one night. Jeremy was a great host, always communicating with us when we had questions or didn't know where something was. Overall the family would love to come back sometime.

We had a wonderful stay. The grandkids loved the fairy and leprechaun walk. That made it so special for them. They left lucky charms for them. They were fascinated by all the banana slugs. We had visits from many deer and one skunk. Grandkids are already talking about our next mini vaca.

We brought our daughter and son-in-law and our two grandchildren (5 yr granddaughter and 9 mo grandson) and our pup for a little get-away. The Whispering Ferns was perfect! All the amenities you need and very comfortable. We enjoyed the forest (we had a little fairy hunt that GramMum set up) and the yard (roasted smores). Thank you so much.

Absolutely lovely home and garden exceeding expectations. Beachfront is riveting, but a Forest location like Whispering Ferns is tranquil and uniquely therapeutic. You hear the Ocean but the quiet is remarkable. The home itself has a form and function that made sense for all 7 of us (5 adults 2 toddlers 1 dog) in spite of any chaos a family may create. Highly recommend. Oh, and Jeremy is responsive, flexible (we modified our booking twice) and so pleasant to work with. Close to all our favorite destinations - Ward Avenue, Laguna Point, Skunk Train, downtown, Noyo Headlands and Botanical Gardens.

This is a lovely house in a forest and the solitude is perfect. Super clean, spacious, and again, forest solitude about 10 mins north of Fort Bragg. The host was available and ready to make our visit perfect.

Wonderful secluded foresty beach getaway

The house/cabin was beautiful. Loved how it was tucked away in the greenery and gave the illusion of being in a forest when you were minutes from civilization and the beach. Such a relaxing atmosphere. Great place to vacation with children and friends. We will definitely keep this home in mind for repeat visits. The owners were responsive and helpful. Made us feel very welcomed.

Awesome Fort Bragg rental

Spent three nights here in June 2025 during a motorcycle trip with two other riders. Had high hopes, looked great online. It exceeded all our expectations, really nice place out in the woods. So quiet yet so close to town. Beautiful house, well appointed, nice kitchen for me to cook in, great communication from owners who really seemed to care that I enjoy my stay. Five out of five stars. Don’t hesitate to book this, it’s really great.

Amazing Setting, Quiet and Privacy!

What a gorgeous home! The weeklong stay of the aptly named Golden Girls was quiet and peaceful. The home was just as listed and expected. Ready to settle in with a cold drink after our travels, we were disappointed when we first arrived that there was no ice, no ice cube trays even. A quick stop at one of Ft Bragg’s thrift stores we found some trays and contributed them to the house. Other than that and the difficulty we found with the back door lock, everything went without a hitch. As the contact person with our group, I found Jeremy to respond quickly with any questions or concerns. We found many explorations in and around Ft Bragg. Cooking at home in the well stocked kitchen was a pleasure as well. Thank you for sharing your home.

Six ladies in our sixties

What an amazing place. Usually the descriptions over state what a property is. But not in this case. This house is amazing. It feels like a home. Everything you might need is here. We enjoyed our stay. When we were reading the guest book someone said that they had stayed there 5 times. If that doesn’t tell you something. The owner was quick to respond to our questions before and during our stay. We will definitely be back.
