I have stayed in this hotel twice and each time the service was incredible. Friendly staff and fresh food served at their restaurant too. With a beautiful lake right outside the property. Will be back again. Thank you!

This is not the first time I have stayed, the food has some good options and service is good. Lovely sitting on the front balcony and watching the sun set.

The room was nice and clean and well appointed. Daily room service was nice and nice amenities. The property listing doesn’t make it clear the rooms are directly above a bar/pub which does stop at 12 am so ear plugs are a must as noise and vibrations still travel. There are limited facilities other than a small table outside. Nice and central to main shops and beaches.

The wall of room was very thin with poor insulation. You can hear people in the diner/pub and the people next door in the late evening and early morning. Mugs, glass and sofa were dirty, and there was no hair dryer.

I accidentally booked the wrong date - almost 2 weeks later than our stay in Forster. On site staff, on the same day I booked, said they couldn't help. Wotif staff enquired on my behalf and refund was refused. Email to tge venue, requesting confirmation that there would be no refund was not answered. Will make sure to check in future and will not book this venue

The rooms have been recently nicely upgraded. The ensuite bathrooms are nice. I reported a hole in the wall above the bed to reception and was told 'I suppose someone knows'. The curtains were extremely difficult to slide. I thought the curtain tracks would come down whilst trying to close the curtains. I am glade I am not the owner who paid for these room renovations only to see they quickly go into disrepair.

It was modern but very limited facilities. Asked staff for a toaster & they couldn't provide one. Air conditioner was not on so room was stuffy & when asked to fix it staff must have pressed a button so we could use the remote for it. Woke at 5am to find the room was boiling hot & we couldn't turn heating of. Tried to call someone too no avail. No staff on call. Awful stay.

Nothing was particularly unique about the property except that it was just across the road from the picturesque Wallis Lake. The parking area was across the road next to a park and the Lake. At times, it was hard to get a parking spot there. The shared female bathroom down the hall, I noticed that the shower recess was not cleaned every day, due to the bath mat not being moved for about 2 days. The rest of the bathroom was fairly clean for an old bathroom. My room was old and in need of a proper renovation. It did not have a luggage holder for my suitcase. I asked for one at the Accommodation Reception area and they didn't have one. In the Reception there were at least 3 men who seemed disorganised but they were pleasant. They didn'tseem to know how to work the booking system on the computer. The Lakes & Ocean Hotel mainly concentrate on food, alcohol and entertainment. The food was too expensive for me to buy and the entertainment was too noisy. My room had a broken flyscreen and this window area was quite dirty. I would never ever return to stay there again.

This is a charming old world pub. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a room that had 2 share bathrooms. The ladies facility included 2 toilets and 2 showers (one of them was over a bath which, if I'd had time would have been great for a soak.) All very clean. Note to staff: the hand towel dispenser needs to be looked at. I'm guessing the gents facility was similar. The bed was very comfortable. Though a spare pillow & blanket would be a useful inclusion, as would a small chair so that the TV could be watched from a more convenient angle. Fridge, tea & coffee making & generous vanity were excellent inclusions. Thanks for a very comfortable stay, & I loved the trivia night!!

Good traditional Aussie pub, with lovely happy, polite, friendly staff and patrons. Suit all ages, and with small child facilities. Close to beach and lake, great location.

Check in was pretty dismal and we were not told about how to access our room should we decide to be out beyond closing time nor where to leave the key when we were leaving. However the room was nice but if you want a quiet time don’t go Friday or Saturday night as there is live music both nights - which you have to expect when you stay at a local pub,
