Outdated property cleaning wasn’t very good and they just laid fertiliser it smells bad especially while swimming in the pool area should of laid the fertiliser off peak season

Cheap and cheerful
Had a great 2-night stay at the Golden Sands. Amazing value for money. Everything was very clean, and staff were all really friendly. Location was fantastic - you literally walk out of the property and are surrounded by cafes and restaurants. Beach is a 5-10min stroll away. Plenty of tea, coffee, milk etc provided, and there’s even a toaster and microwave in the room (but with all the lovely cafes and restaurants within a few meters of the motel, we didn’t use them!) Would definitely recommend, and hope to return soon.

The room was larger than expected and had a microwave, crockery and cutlery. Very close to Main Street and Main Beach, less than a minute to award winning Beach Street fish cafe.

Excellent Forster Budget Hotel
Excellent budget motel, very clean with air conditioning and ceiling fans, needs updating but then it is a budget motel. The lowest priced room are internal and look into a courtyard so are dark and for security cannot leave window open and night. Staff very friendly.

This place was in an excellent central position. Walking distance to most areas (beaches, river, shops, food areas, etc). Great place and medium priced.

We had holidays at the Golden Sands 50 years ago and found it still quite pleasing ,a little like stepping back in time but everything was very clean and management very friendly.The position excellent .

Great Forster stay
Would not hesatate to say at Golden Sands Motor Inn again. We were passing through Forster and stayed only one night but there seemed to be families enjoying the pool and having BBQs. Staff happy and helpful, room clean and comfortable, easy walk to resturants and beach, great stay on a budget.

Older style accommodation could do with a bit of a Reno, but definitely value for money and would stay again. The reception was extremely helpful and accommodating our late arrival.

The property is in a perfect location. It is a 2 minute walk from the property to the ocean (Main Beach) on one side, Lake Wallis on the other side and downtown Forster with all of the shops and cafes. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's also a short walk to the bridge to Tuncurry.

Value for money
Budget Motel in excellent position close to shops, beach and foreshore with lovely pool. Bed was comfortable enough, sheets were clean, towels were sparkly new white. Old building, bathroom very old, but can’t complain for the price. TV, Free Wi-Fi, Fridge, Microwave, Air con., balcony. On the main road, but I closed the window and door to sleep and turned fan on 😁👍
