Capeview is a 1970's house with sufficient room for 8 people. We were 7, 5 adults and 2 children under 6 years.
The location and the land around the house itself were good. Near One Mile Beach and a short drive to Forster central and shopping centres. The house is dated but it is a holiday home not a forever home.
Some of the furniture could do with updating, not necessarily new, but functional. None of the 3 seniors in our party could utilise the lounge, the springs are shot.
As for the BBQ, it was reported as unusable in January 2021, nothing had changed in January 2022. The plate was very rusty, the gas bottle empty.
While the place in very near the ocean, it should be a constant that windows are cleaned regularly. Some were so dirty, you could not see through the glass. Others could not be opened at all. On arrival the downstairs shower recess was covered in a layer of sand, obviously missed during cleaning.
Some of the light fittings also did not work, while there was selection of globes in the pantry, they were not the correct ones.
The driveway is single lane, so a car shuffle was a constant exercise as we had 3 cars. The photos are deceptive, the driveway appears much wider than it actually is. There is no access to the garage. There is no street parking, it is a quiet cul-de-sac.
The question is always would we return? The answer is yes, the deficits did not overcome the pleasure of family time in such a useful space. As with any holiday home, bring a sharp knife!
