The Sunset House was everything we expected it to be! It was probably the most well stocked house we've been in. I believe another review said it was a bit outdated; I think it played into the charm of the house. Definitely felt a bit 'old south' which we loved. Also, perhaps a weird thing to praise, but the place smelled incredible. The all-seasons room was a favorite gathering place, as was the dock. All of our galleries are filled with stunning sunset photos and dolphin sightings. Personally, our circumstances when we booked were drastically different when it came time to travel as our daughter broke her leg the day before our departure so the large amount of stairs posed a bit of a tiring challenge for us (yes, island life, lifted homes). Would definitely book again to experience without crutches and a casted leg!

We loved this place. The host was there to greet us when we arrived and show us around the house. The kids loved the dock and being able to see Dolphins every day. I highly recommend this place. I think we will be back again next year.

Excellent Alternative to Folly Beach Houses

The house was great. The house was stocked better than any house we have ever rented with everything from cooking utensils to face cleaner in the bathrooms. It was a great opportunity to have my boat at the dock and do water sports and experience the beach (although our week was extremely hot!). Teresa was a great host and you can bet we will be back next year with the family vacation.

The perfect getaway!

Having a house while on vacation makes all the difference! Perfect location: easy to walk downtown and restaurants, a beautiful view, and lots of parking and storage for water toys! We had a ton of space to relax and read in the evenings - the dock was one of our favorite parts of the house! Teresa was a great host - responsive and accommodating! We’d love to stay again!

UD mini-reunion

Teresa is a great host! She and her daughter greeted us and made us feel very welcome. She is very attentive and quick to respond with any questions. Her home is beautiful and well appointed. The location is perfect, close enough to beaches and restaurants, but quiet and secluded for your visit.

Perfect place to gather!

We stayed at the Sunset House to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. We had 7 adults and two teenagers and the house accommodated us all comfortably. The location is lovely and the sunset views were gorgeous! We especially appreciated how communicative our host was and how incredibly well stocked the house was, especially the kitchen. With several great cooks in our group it was really nice to find the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. Thank you for a great stay! We hope to be back soon!

Great location

The house is in a quiet, safe neighborhood- all of Folly is safe. We most enjoyed the river views. The dock was nice for fishing, seeing sunsets and dolphins.The house is nice, decent. Needs some updating all around, but overall accommodations were good.

Christmas Getaway

The house was so charming and provided plenty of space for our family of 6. It was well stocked and exceeded our needs. The owner reached out to ensure we were able to access the house upon our arrival. Upon entering, the home was beautifully decorated for the holiday and Christmas music was playing...this was a wonderful setting to start off our vacation. At the end of our 10 day stay, we found it hard to leave! We felt so at home! I would book this home again and highly recommend it.

Fall Break 2024

First off, the place is amazing! You are alone with a view that takes your breathe away. The sense of calm and nature are serene. Miss Teresa was very helpful and checked in on us as well. Got to meet Mayor Tim walking his dog - it’s definitely where the locals live.

Beautiful, private Folly vacation home

Our family had an amazing time over Labor Day weekend at the Sunset House. The sunsets over the water were truly breathtaking, and we spent every evening (and much of the day) enjoying the dock and the water, including paddleboarding (so easy to rent them at Charleston SUP Safaris and just paddle down to the house!) We had everything we could need for the weekend, and the house was very comfortable. So many beautiful spaces to relax in, both inside and out. The location is exceptional - close to downtown and the beach but so quiet, peaceful and private, even on a very busy weekend. We definitely hope to return!

Folly Beach Vacation

Communication with our host was easy. She worked to make our stay all that we hoped it would be. Even though it was Father’s Day, our host was quick to find a repairman when the air condition unit stopped working. The view from the sun porch is so peaceful and relaxing. Very quiet neighborhood. Our family has rented this house before and we hope to return again.

The house was great. We loved the magnificent views. The location is wonderful. It has the feeling of being secluded but actually is very close to the beach, restaurants and bars. Teresa was very kind and helpful. We rented a boat. The dock was perfect. A golf cart made getting around the island easy and fun.

Bachelorette party

We had the most AMAZING time at the sunset house. First of all, Teresa is wonderful. She made us feel right at home and made sure we were having a great trip. The house has many spots to hang out and relax and the beds were very comfortable. I was there for my bachelorette party with 9 girls and everyone fit comfortably. The home is cozy and just a short walk into town. I would absolutely stay here again!

Absolutely perfect.

This house has it all! Plenty of space, places to sit and relax, plus a lot of entertainment options. The golden hour was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. We enjoyed crabbing on the dock, watching sunsets, sitting on the deck(s), having bonfires, and hanging out in the sunroom. We also liked taking a quick walk to town to have lunch, shop, and check out the pier. Our family is thankful for the time we were able to spend at the Sunset House. Thank you, Teresa, for being such a great host!
