Like many houses on Folly, The Blue Pelican has that older beach house vibe which we loved. However, there were some issues that greatly affected our stay. The showers and bathtub plug had visible mildew, and the HVAC wasn’t working when we arrived. It was 80 degrees inside for the first 24 hours of our stay. We were told it had just been serviced and that the owners of the home had just checked out before us. The HVAC the tech who came out said it had a major leak and needed to replaced. Some of our group had to get a hotel due to the heat and having two babies with us. We were told that window units were on the way at 1pm on Friday so we went to the beach to hopefully come back to a cooler house. We did not get the units until 4:30pm. Dunes Properties was super helpful and apologetic during our stay and we were very appreciate of the window units. They also sent a team out to clean the bathrooms. Unfortunately, I felt like I spent the first 2 days of my vacation on the phone or texting about the AC issues. With better AC and a little more attention to cleanliness, this place could be a great rental. The view of the marsh from the back of the house and the view of the ocean from the front made this house a perfect spot location wise.

First timers to the East Coast

We are Blue water beach people, so this was different-but still great! Had some rain and some sun ..no shark teeth were found but had fun searching. A bit of a miss with cleanliness, but we didn't complain. Beach is close (one row off direct) so we didn't have to pay to park. Quirky house with basically all we needed. Good views front and back, but more overgrown than depicted. Still love any vacation with a beach!

Spring Break Bliss

We loved our Folly Beach trip! The house was in the perfect location for us…far enough from the main drag so that we had quiet, but we were close enough to bike into town. We loved Folly Beach and its proximity to Charleston. Our only recommendation is that you invest in new mattresses.

Overall great trip

There were a couple glitches at the start due to policies not being clear in the description such as the pet policy and no5 being able to use the elevator but...Dunes responded quickly and it was dealt with to our satisfaction. The house was very clean, comfortable beds, great kitchen and fantastic marsh views from the back porch.

Great Family Vacation

Great Beach House

Perfect location away from the center of town and a short walk to beach access. There is a beach view from the large front deck to watch the surfers and sunrise. Large open floor plan with plenty of seating areas. Kitchen was well equipped (we cooked most of our meals) with lots of counter space. Master bedroom was off the back with large bathroom - double sinks, large walk in shower and huge closet. The other two bedrooms were off the living space. Second bedroom has on suite bathroom with walk in shower. Third bedroom and bath were joined with pocket door. Elevator was a nice amenity to haul up groceries and luggage. Outdoor furniture was a bit worn and the umbrella was missing the piece to hold it up but all in all this was a great place for a beach vacation. We will return.

Fall at Folly

Enjoyed our time at Folly. Loved the location being so close to the beach. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced in back yard to play and run around in.
