Hotel Jaguar inn le falta limpieza y talento human
Hotel muy malo sucio tanto en las habitaciones y baño, habia leido comentarios pero no les crei, pues ahora son correctos el hotel le hace falta limpieza y servicios a los huespedes tuvimos que comer siempre en el hotel jungle lodge muy buenos sus instaciones como el personal cosas que hacen falta en jaguar inn, si leen esto y quieren probar suerte vayan pero no les aconsejo si hay disponibilidad en otro hotel en el complejo.

Agradecemos sus comentarios, sin embargo vemos de que su estancia en nuestro hotel fue en enero del 2023, hace 10 meses. Por lo que no entendemos que haya motivado tal comentario negativo despues de tanto tiempo. Asi mismo aclaramos que el hotel ha tenido muchos cambios para bien en ese tiempo, lo cual se ve reflejado en las buenas calificaciones de huepedes recientes.

Desde un mes antes avisamos que llegábamos a las 9 PM. El señor de la recepción nos recibió diciendonoa que a las 8 pm se apagaban las luces de todo el hotel, se apagaba el wifi y desafortunadamente no tenía velas ni linternas para ofrecernos. Teníamos reservado el tour del amanecer en el que nos recogían a las 4 am, necesitábamos armar los morrales, queríamos cargar la pila de los celulares para poder hacer fotos del amanecer desde el Parque Tikal. Pedimos una pila portátil para cargar celulares y nos dijeron que no tenían. Llegamos a la habitación y estaba muy muy caliente, no pudimos dormir casi. La presión del agua muy mala, no ponen jabón, acondicionador ni crema corporal en el baño. NUNCA VUELVO. A la mañana siguiente cuando se suponía que ya había wifi NO FUNCIONABA. Pensamos que era porque dentro del parque Tikal no había señal. A la hora del almuerzo nos fuimos al hotel de al lado que tiene precios muy similares, queda literalmente a una cuadra. Nos recibieron en recepción muy amables, la atención del restaurante deliciosa, la comida rica, el Wi Fi muy bueno, tiene buenos ventiladores entonces no se siente calor, tiene piscina y zonas para descansar fuera de las habitaciones. A este hotel Jungle Lodge si volvería feliz. No reserven en el Jaguar Inn.

Lugar fantástico para aprovechar Tikal al máximo
Es un lugar fantástico, a la entrada del Parque Nacional. El hotel es muy cómodo, limpio y agradable. Vale la pena quedarse en el para ver el amanecer y explorar el parque. El guía del hotel, César es un hombre maravilloso que conoce mucho y siempre está dispuesto a ayudarte en todo. El personal es muy atento, y la comida aunque costosa, de muy buen sabor y con porciones generosas. Lo único incómodo de lugar, es el corte total de la energía eléctrica a las 21:00, muchos usamos dispositivos digitales para fotografiar el Parque y tener un tiempo tan estrecho para cargarlos, es insuficiente. Deberían dejar al menos un enchufe dentro de la habitación energizado durante la noche para que podamos cargar smartphones y cámaras.

The rooms were reasonably comfortable, set in pretty well-kept gardens and very near to the ruins. The staff were quite friendly, given the language difference, and helpful with our requests. The best aspect is of course convenience, especially for the sunset/sunrise tours, and the beautiful jungle setting. However, everything else was pretty standard and no-frills, and the satellite wifi was intermittent in the restaurant area, so overall this is rather expensive as of course you are paying mainly for the tourist location. Incidentally, we preferred the sunset to the sunrise tour, as there are usually heavy mists in the morning which limits visibility and the jungle didn't quite explode into life as we thought it would! In retrospect, I would not pay extra for that tour. Tikal is definitely worth a visit though.

Cuartos limpios y agradables
El hotel es muy comodo, dentro del parque, la atención excelente y amables. Solo tomar en cuenta que trabajan con planta eléctrica y la electricidad son por lapsos de tiempo, igual al ingresar le indican. Al ser una zona tropical los senderos entre el hotel son resbaladizos por la lluvia, solo tener precaución.

Hacen cargos dobles a las tarjetas de crédito
Con el pretexto de que no tienen sistema piden más tarjetas y realizan cargos dobles de los consumos en el lugar. No dan solución a los problemas

Agradable dentro del Parque Nacional de Tikal.
Muy buena opción para visitar la zona arqueológica de Tikal hasta tarde. El restaurante del hotel excelente, muy buena atención y servicio por parte de los empleados del hotel. Poco transporte en domingo. Los tours no son necesarios.

The hotel is nice and particularly convenient for Tikal tours. If you're planning sunrise and sunset tours, this hotel could be your best option as it's within walking distance of the park entrance. However, the facilities are somewhat dated; for example, our shower was broken, which could be hazardous if you have children. Despite this, the eco experience is fantastic! We visited in March, and although there's no AC, the temperatures were high. The fan provided wasn't sufficient during the day, so we spent most of our time outside enjoying the surrounding areas. Thankfully, we had a great experience observing the local wildlife, and the people were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant food is excellent, and we highly recommend dining there at least once. Alternatively, there are typical food options nearby, but be aware that most places close at 6pm due to sunset and limited energy usage. Despite the room being a bit warm, we had an amazing experience exploring Tikal both in the morning and at night. The service at the hotel was exceptional!

Great location , In the middle of the rain forest steps away from the Tikal ruins . The restaurant has great food , reception very helpful , other observation, bring cash and buy tickets before you get there no credit card accepted in gift shops . Rain gear is suggested . There is entrance fees to rain forest in local money and not credit card or dollar

A really good place to stay in Tikal
We were very happy to stay here---it's the closest Inn to the actual site. The staff are friendly and helpful and do speak some English (because alas we speak very little Spanish). We ate at their restaurant too, and the food was fine. We had a room upstairs in the one building---it's fairly basic but quite comfortable, and the ceiling fan made the temperature bearable. They also organized a shuttle from and back to Flores airport, which is very useful. Sitting on their small outside patio listening to the sounds of the jungle in the evening was really fantastic.

Jaguar was amazing!
This is a really nice jungle stay. You’re off the grid, the wifi comes and goes, and there’s no service. But you don’t go to places like this for the connectivity! I think Jaguar has exceptional service, and the rooms are very clean. The food and drinks are unbeatable. You can walk into Tikal and it’s an unbeatable experience. Jaguar offers shuttles from Flores, yes you have to pay, but it’s not much and the drivers are very friendly. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great property right by the entrance to the temples. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Do keep in mind that the power goes off at 9pm which means no fans or air-conditioning at night. I wish I had bought along my small portable fan (just would have made the sleeping more comfortable). I was disappointed that the back end system with Expedia had not recorded my booking which mean the staff and I had to find proof in my emails and bank statement of payment when we arrived late. Thank goodness all was sorted the next day by checkout time. Love to go back and have more time exploring.

Because the hotel is eco-friendly they cut the electricity atc9:30 pm and was so hot and humid. Not a/c at all very uncomfortable, ano hotel next to this one even have a/c all the time even if they cut the power. A/C with photocells power. I try to book there but was all booked..wonder why.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, we are working towards installing solar energy and AC in some rooms. The investment is large, so it takes time, but it will happen. Meanwhile we offer a more budget price, with fan, and no AC.

Be advised that Expedia does not give all the details around the power shutoff at 10pm and no hot water after 9pm. When a ceiling fan is advertised in the jungle and it’s THE JUNGLE you definitely need air circulation. The restaurant was mediocre at best and expensive, but it was nice to have an option on site. We ended up checking out a day early of our 2 day stay to change to a hotel in El Remate - Las Gardenias with AC and slept much better there and there were many more food options in El Remate.

Thank you for the feedback.It is important to find out as much about a destination before traveling, so as to have the right expectations. We are an ecolodge with limited but comfortable services, within a beautiful nature reserve, with exclusive access to Tikal temples. Expecting a cheap service, with TV, 24 hours electricity, fast internet, and Air Conditioning, is not something you will find in Tikal. Being surrounded by nature, easy access to the park and temples, abundant wildlife, and a little disconnect from technology. Recharging naturally. That is what the Tikal experience is about.

Property was falsely advertised stating they had a pool when they in fact did not. They also had very dangerous conditions like unsealed windows where a scorpion got inside.

Sorry, but nowhere on our description on Expedia does it say we have a pool, this information is incorrect.With regards to the scorpion, we are in the middle of the jungle, where all types of insects live naturally. Whilst our rooms keep out most bugs, and the majority of our guests do not have any issues, it is impossible to have a completely sealed room, there would be no oxygen. Having the right expectations for the type of surroundings chosen, goes a long way to enjoying the experience of Tikal. Thank you.

Everything was great considering they run on generator power. The ruins, animals, and vegetation make up for the lack power at night. The staff was great and the food was good as well. Bring bug spray.
