Grampa's Lake House was wonderful, an older house with charm. Plenty of room to have separate space, and also have everyone come together for a long overdue visit. The living area is huge, and the view of the lake is amazing from any of the floor to ceiling windows. Access to the lake is the best, just a few yards, not steep at all and your in the water. The hot tub seats 4 comfortably, it definitely needs a feet cleaning area before you get in.... nice evening lights as well. The kitchen is good sized, lots of work space and a nice sized fridge. The beds are great, all are memory foam, and for me and my family.... nothing is better! Nice job to the owners for making that upgrade! (It's always a deal maker for us) The family room upstairs is big and laid out nicely, huge TV, and game area, lots of seating. Blackout curtains in the bedrooms, nice touch. If you are looking for modern and elaborate, this is not your place, but it has everything you need to enjoy actually visiting with the one's you love. The water pressure is not great... not at all, but there's plenty of it and lottsa hot water.... if you're patient lol. The kitchen could use some restocking of utensils, large and small. The coffee pot is old and a little tired, I know the feeling. The pots and pans are few and not of any good quality. The only TV is upstairs, so unless you're all willing to watch together... might not work for you. Overall, we loved it. Also, please update the photos on your website.

We loved staying at this property last summer and don't remember any water issues. On the first evening of this trip there was a wide spread power outage and after the power came on there was not water. Within a couple of hours someone arrived to flip a switch to begin working again, however the water pressure was too low in every faucet to even shower for the entire trip. With 9 people playing in the lake and ocean for 3 days, this was problematic. Also we found little worms in the toilet when we arrived so we bought bottled water. Love the property though! House could use some updating and TLC. Seems like there are electrical issues. Lots of flickering lights upstairs and a light bulb missing from desk lamp in master.

Loved this house and its location! It has a private sandy beach in a protected cove so it’s not windy. Perfect for kids to splash around. Would stay there again!!

Suggestions

Ample space, comfy furniture. However every single towel, washcloth were all terribly full of awful sour mildew smell!!! Could use some better cleaning-Cobwebs everywhere inside, main bedroom mattress downstairs was covered in stains-gross. Could not open windows or doors to allow fresh air in because there were no screens anywhere to avoid letting in critters or insects. Views from the hot tub was nice!

The Perfect Spot to Unwind

Grandpa's Lake House was the perfect setting for our family to relax and unwind. The lake view from the livingroom and the deck was spectacular, both in the morning with a cup of coffee and in the evening with a glass of wine. The neighborhood was beautiful and so quiet. The house itself was so large that we were all able to find privacy when needed. There were some minor issues with the cleanliness of the house (mostly the kitchen), but nothing that we couldn't rectify ourselves. We thoroughly enjoyed walking through Old Town Florence, and spending a day at the ocean at Heceta Beach. By the end of our stay, not one of us wanted to leave. Not even our 3-year old grandson!

Grandpa’s lake house

This home on the lake was beautiful and peaceful as we’d hoped. Everything was as advertised. There are neighbors/ houses nearer than we thought would be but everyone was respectful of space and very quiet. A wonderful location to relax.

Great family getaway

Disappointed. Place had a beautiful view, but the place and its amenities were run down.

As a whole we were very disappointed with our experience at Grandpa's Lake House. It has not been kept up for years and really needs a deep cleaning (filth on hand rails, doors and walls). Here is a list of things not available to us during our stay. No water in the hottub (described as an amenity available), back yard unmanaged and over grown, dock unstable (fall hazard) windows filthy, curtain are musty, other people did not pick up poop from their dogs nor did house keeping, coffee filter with old coffee and mold still in it from when? Clock does not work. A drawer in one bathroom and toilet paper holder fell apart, rack in dishwasher when pulled out bottom rack it leans forward and all dishes fall out of rack.rtheiththe spots.

We were afraid the municipal coded quiet hours of 7 pm to 7 am was going to mean we couldn’t enjoy playing pickleball in the yard before the luxurious 9 pm sunset, but nobody seemed to be bothered by our games. The house is perfect. Kids loved it. We loved it. Great location.

Unfortunate Experience

We unfortunately had a very bad experience. We booked the house expecting a 4 bedroom house. Once we arrived we found one bedroom locked and after pulling some teeth and communication taking a long time, was told that the bedroom and a half bath were out for repairs. This was not communicated to us prior to arrival so people had to sleep on the couch. We received little to no refund for this mishap. The house itself was fairly nice but outdated and could’ve been cleaned more thorough. The garbage can outside was full, smelt awful and garbage was spilled. I appreciated being right by the lake and the house had a lot of kid supplies (toys, baths, high chairs, etc). Overall we were disappointed in our stay.

Beautiful relaxing spot along Woahink lake

Overall, my 4 friends and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Grandpa's Lake House. The house was as described; it was spacious, clean and well stocked. There were memory foam mattresses on all of the beds, which was a welcome change from previous stays elsewhere. The hot tub was clean and well maintained and it was great siting out and watching the ducks on the lake. One important thing to note, in the entryway to the left there is a step down (maybe 3 inches deep) leading to the garage and bathroom/laundry room. The only thing to alert you of step down is a thin yellow strip of tape on floor and if you don't have hall light on you can't see it. Even with the light on it's hard to tell there is a step down and every single one of us didn't realize the step was there and almost fell. On multiple occasions. I was the unfortunate one that heard a pop when I landed and spent the first 36 hours of our trip hardly able to walk, elevating and icing my foot. After that incident we put a bench in front of step with sign to watch step. Luckily nothing was broken and my friends were able to find me a boot for my foot at a thrift store so I could get around some in those first 36 hours. Note to the owner, you should put a sign at eye level warning people to watch their step and also add a thicker yellow caution tape to floor. With that being said, this was a much needed break from our crazy busy lives and we had a wonderful, relaxing time and we will definitely be back.

A little gross

We were a bit shocked upon arrival at the state of unclean. If the outdated and unclean rooms and carpets were not enough it looks like laundry does not get done. Towels, pillows, and duvets are stained, dirty, there were visable unnamed smears on the duvet. There is junk everywhere and you can guarantee things are not moved and cleaned underneath (that wood block in the kitchen? Disgusting). It was hard to sleep. The sheets feel like sandpaper and we had to clean blankets before we felt comfortable using them. Very gross, outdated and junky. The views are great and the hottub is a nice touch. Those are the only remdeeming qualities. The pictures do not tell the whole story. I would skip this place and would never recommend to anyone.

Lake fun

We really enjoyed the location right on the lake. It is private and the lake is not a super busy one with motor boats. Everyone in our group had a lot of fun and we would definitely come back! The house is roomy and has a lot of character.

A nice place with drawbacks…

One huge plus is a tranquil location, the home is nestled in a private lake cove. It is quite, spacious and comfortable. Another nice plus was the drawers and cabinets in the kitchen are labeled so you aren’t searching as long for whatever it is you need for cooking. But the home has a used feel, lots of delayed maintenance issues and a moldy smell. The dishwasher doesn’t really dry the dishes, the spa was broken, the dock was not useable, the yard not well maintained and the property just seemed tired. No pride in ownership was evident. That said, it was functional.and I would stay there again.

Dated Beauty on Water

Beautiful location on the water. House has many beds for larger groups. No fires or firepit outside and must be quiet for neighbors. Bathroom door upstairs locks you inside if you close the door. Downstairs master has a TV, but once you sign in with your own Netflix or Amazon account, there is not enough bandwidth to actually play a movie. Most games are missing pieces to play them .
