Location great but otherwise lacking - and bugs!

Online description did not call out that this was 3rd floor with no lift. Listing had amenities listed that were not present such as a microwave. Upon laying on a bed I was immediately bitten all over by some kind of bugs.

Perfect Florentine Location

Our family stayed at the "Typical Florentine Apartment," we loved the location and the beautiful Duomo views. It was just as described, very authentically Italian, and the small balconies off one bedroom and the living room we loved. The air conditioning worked great, which was important to us in July! The beds were comfortable. The location is central to everything.

Great location for a comfortable home base

We enjoyed staying at San Giovanni, the location is very convenient to the center of Firenze. The views of the Duomo are spectacular, we really enjoyed the little balcony. The beds are very comfortable and a nice hot shower. There were some loud late night partiers which disturbed sleep in the bedroom facing the street, the price you pay for being so close to everything. We were there in the off season. The couch is not very comfortable but, we spent our time out and about so it didn’t impact us very much. Pack lightly because you will be carrying your luggage up several flights of stairs. The views are worth the effort!

Aucune correspondance entre l'annonce et la réalité : Descriptif erroné et de très loin!

Toute petite cuisine, pas de machine à laver la vaisselle, pas de four, pas de micro-onde, pas de congélateur et tout petit frigidaire, machine à laver : rouillée et moisie, plan de travail vieux et taché, et sale,pas assez de tasses et de vaiselle pour pt dej. pour 4 pers.et le tout disparate. I seul torchon pour 9 nuits...! Pas d'éponge ni de sacs poubelle ... cette cuisine est si petite qu'il est difficile de s'y tenir à 2..comment y mettre une grande table, comme précisé l'annonce... Chambre côté Duomo: rien a voir avec la photo du website, 2 petits lits de 80cm au lieu de 2 lits de 100cm comme décrit .et de l'autre côté du mur, pas de vue sur le Duomo...meuble étagère tournant, plus de glace, et seulement la moitié utilisable. Oreiller inutilisable et en plus de tout, nous avons été piquées dans les lits soit par des puces, soit par des punaises, le pharmacien n'était pas très sûr. Chambre côté rue, fenêtre bloquée sans être totalement fermée : Impression de dormir dans la rue... Salon, nappe tachée. Terrasse table en très mauvais état, l'éclairage ne fonctionnait pas, malgré nos demandes répétées pas réparé en 9 jours! Salle de bain, petite douche en angle, porte papier wc cassé. Pas de tablette au dessus du lavabo, juste les restes des attaches d'une ancienne tablette. En résumé : appartement pas entretenu, sale et pas équipé pour être loué à ce prix là. J'attends donc de votre part un geste commercial. Je tiens à votre disposition les photos attestant de ce résume navrant....

Great location, large apartment

Very close to the Duomo and Piazzo Vecchio, tons of restaurants and shops. The apartment was quite large with a gorgeous view of the Duomo. Very clean and cute. Only downside was all the stairs to get to the apartment and a very small shower.

Magic in Florence!

This is a wonderful apartment right in the heart of Florence. The view is amazing, and the apartment is all we could have hoped for. There was a heat wave, so the air conditioning couldn’t quite keep up. Even with that, it was perfect!

Lots of stairs but beautiful location

This property was in a great location, but I would not stay here again. Too many narrow stairs to carry your luggage up to the apartment, and the place was outdated except for the bathroom. Not my favorite apartment and even though they advertise a television, only 3 local channels provided (i.e. only Italian channels). Deck is very small outside. If you are driving to Florence, parking garage they recommended we never found and was not as close to the apartment as described. Would not return to this place again.

Location! Location! Location!

This apartment is in the perfect spot in the middle of Florence. All of the attractions as well as the S.M.N. train station are a short walk away. The apartment staff member was punctual and very helpful with checking (WiFi setup, etc.) and would have been quickly available to answer questions or solve problems (if we had any). As mentioned in other reviews, there are a lot of steps getting to/from this apartment, but the view from the balcony more than makes it worth it!

Stunning location

The property is located in a superb place with a wonderful view of the Duomo, which you can see whilst eating on the balcony. The apartment is spacious and pretty comfortable, although it could do with some cosmetic improvements. We would definitely stay here again when returning to Firenze.

Not what we expected

My brother and his wife and my husband and I stayed at this apartment for two nights. The only reason that I gave it at least one star is because of the friendly staff and it was in a good location ( minus the bums sitting on the stoop smoking cigarettes on your way into the front door). The apartment was very outdated and needs a deep cleaning along with a linen change. My husband got bit by some kind of bugs either when laying on the couch or the bed comforter. His arms and chest were covered in red bug bites. Also the furniture was not comfortable, so after a day of touring we were not able to relax. And if you are carrying a lot of luggage then be prepared to hike up flights of stairs with your bags . We would not stay at this apartment again.

Amazing location, comfy and convenient

Darling apartment, fantastic location and very spacious and comfortable! Sitting on the patio was great! The only down side is the many steps up with luggage but it is well worth it. Real air conditioning for hot August was so refreshing. Host was helpful and responsive. Definitely recommend!

Clean, characterful flat with a stunning view of the Duomo

We really enjoyed staying in the flat. It was so central with a lovely view of the Duomo. We did struggle to light the gas stove until we found matches and we couldn’t use the electric kettle as it tripped the electricity for the flat. But overall a great stay.

A beautiful old style Tuscany apartment with an amazing view of the Duomo. Many steep stairs to get to the apartment--a bit of a struggle with a lot of luggage, but worth it for the quaint feel and unbelievable view! Wifi and air conditioning were much appreciated. Make sure to follow the residential address--not the business address (as google maps will provide). Very helpful information provided upon arrival. Prime location to many major sites and attractions and to the train station. Be sure to note the cleaning fee! Tami and Jacob (United States)

Charming apartment, perfect location

This cozy gem is in the heart of Florence and yet has a country cottage feel. There was plenty of room for us and our two teen boys. I'm not sure which was better - morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the Duomo or an evening glass of wine on the balcony overlooking the Duomo! The location allowed us to come and go with ease, taking breaks or pit stops when needed. Highly recommend.

Great location, great view! Lots of steps and Need a few more little conveniences

I would stay here again but would suggest more than 2 rolls of toilet paper for a family of four for four days and more than just a tea towel in the kitchen for handling hot cookware. Coffee maker could use a replacement...takes nearly an hour to brew a full pot. But these are minor inconveniences...overall a great place.

Charming old apartment with character. Very spacious and clean; well managed!

Very charming old apartment with character. Once we arrived at the apartment, we were met within 5 minutes by the manager (of the host). She was very thorough with the details of the apartment. The location is fantastic, although can be a little noisy as it's close to the square, but it does settle down fairly early. We were travelling with another couple, and both bedrooms were spacious. Overall, we were all very happy with the apartment and would recommend it!

Posizione ottima, appartamento caldo e accogliente.

L’appartamento si trova in centro, buona vista e buona posizione. Si trova al terzo piano di uno stabile vecchio, non è ristrutturato ma nel complesso è dotato di diversi comfort, è caldo e accogliente è dotato di Wi-Fi. Non abbiamo utilizzato la cucina ed il bagno è piuttosto rustico. Il perosonale è molto cortese, abbiamo avuto la possibilità di rimanere dopo l’orario del ceck-out.

Centrally located apartment with a great view

Nice roomy apartment in the centre of everything in Florence. Well equipped and comfortable. The only downsides are that there is no lift to the apartment and about 60 steps up to it. Fine once you get your luggage up, and the lady who met us for checkin helped my son up with his case. Also the bedroom facing via Corso was quite noisy at night as the window shutter didn’t close properly. We ended up moving the mattress into the main bedroom which was fine. Overall it was a very nice place to stay with good kitchen facilities and some handy basic supplies.
