Luces y sombras

El apartamento está muy bien ubicado en el centro de Florencia, es una casa torre rehabilitada con gusto pero no es cómoda para el verano, hace muchísimo calor. La estancia superior, la principal, no la pudimos utilizar porque era un horno y no hay aire acondicionado. En el resto de la casa el aire acondicionado tampoco es suficiente, sobre todo en uno de los dormitorios. Hay muchos escalones para acceder al apartamento, aproximadamente un tercero sin ascensor, y dentro del apartamiento también y el equipamiento de la cocina es escaso, no hay sartenes en condiciones, por ejemplo. Por la noche se oyen los ruidos de los bares que hay en la puerta. En cambio la habitaciones son muy amplias y los cuartos de baño están muy bien. Para el verano no es bueno.

This home truly has stunning views and an amazing location. It’s incredibly walkable to just about everything nearby—which we really appreciated—and the climb up the 100 steps to the door definitely keeps things interesting!While the space itself wasn’t dirty, it does feel quite dated and in need of better upkeep. With some attention and maintenance, it could match how special the location really is.The biggest issue for us was the beds and bedding. Unfortunately, they were very uncomfortable and impacted our overall stay. The master bed appears to be made up of two twin mattresses pushed together, leaving a noticeable gap in the middle. The mattresses themselves are quite thin and firm, making it feel more like sleeping on a box spring than a proper bed. The same style mattresses are used in the room with the single beds.Additionally, bedding was minimal—just one pillow per person and a very thin blanket—which didn’t provide much comfort.We can overlook a more worn or dated interior, but comfortable beds are essential. Upgrading the mattresses and bedding would make a significant difference and greatly improve the guest experience.

We had a great stay! Yes there are a lot of stairs but you wouldn't get that great view without them! Super easy to communicate with, the apartment was clean and ready for us. Also, great location that was convenient for everyday.

This was a lovely apartment. The stairs, as mentioned elsewhere were no joke, but worth it for the view. We had a lovely Christmas morning in the top room. The location was great as well--walk one block East for locals' Florence and everything touristy is convenient to the immediate West and South.It was not too loud at Christmas (other than church bells), but we were just up from the foreign students fave bar (The Lion's Fountain) which is probably noisier at other times.

It is true that there are 5 flights of steps and gorgeous views from the top floor. Be advised the unit itself is 3 more stories. The full bed is actually 2 twins pushed together that tend to separate during the night. The bedroom with twin beds need to go down a flight of narrow winding stairs and behind the kitchen to get to the bathroom. Be prepared to go to the store if you plan to cook. There is no coffee, salt/pepper or laundry detergent. Nothing is provided. We stayed there in November and it was cold. The blankets we found were absolutely filthy and stinky. We called the company and they said they would bring us blankets the next day, but they never showed up. The furniture is old and worn and the loveseat in entryway was so dirty - no one would sit on it. We left and went and stayed in a hotel.

The only thing the property has going for it is the view but that's not enough to convince me to stay there again. To describe the property as luxury is a misrepresentation. Some of the pictures posted does not match the property's current state. The furniture is dated and broken. The beds are not that comfortable. The couch is stained which has been mentioned in an earlier review. The rope railing mount was reported in September but had not yet been repaired at our October visit. The apartment could use a deep cleaning. The extra blanket in the closet was dirty and smelled. Paint was peeling from many areas. I realized the building is old but that wasn't the reason for a weird smell in one of the bedrooms. Wifi was only good on the one floor. It didn't reach the second floor bedroom or the third floor living area. We stayed at three other properties during our Italy vacation. We looked forward to staying at this property but it turned out to be highly disappointing.

To get to the room we had to walk up 6 flights of narrow, concrete steps with luggage and no help. We had two family members over 70 and they just could not do it. When we asked to move properties or be refunded, the company refused. In addition to the walk up, when in the room, you had to walk up a very narrow spiral staircase to get to one of the bedrooms, and then another flight of stairs to get to the living room area. The railing was a piece of rope screwed into the walk (which came out at one point). It’s extremely dangerous. Again, when we contacted our hosts, their attitude was “too bad, should we send a maintenance person out to fix it.” One of the bathrooms was connected to the kitchen, so whoever stays in the upstairs bedroom has to walk down a narrow spiral staircase and through the kitchen to get to the second bathroom. Although the pictures online of this place are beautiful, it is not a realistic place to stay.

Besides the peeling paint on the ceiling and walls and the two twin size beds lashed together ( it was advertised as a queen bed) and the rope railing which came out of the wall walking up the spiral staircase and almost killed my cousin, and the coffee pot that malfunctioned everything was great.

Awesome property! Great check in process, the place was very safe and right beside our pasta making class. If you're a fan of partaking in night life this property rocks! We went and met a bunch of other foreign exchange students and had a blast. The view from the property was incredible as well! Highly recommend!

Amazing views

This place is as advertised. Yes, there are a lot of steps but I think it was worth it to climb for an almost 360 degree view of the city from the top floor. You can see the Duomo, Santa Croce, Palazzo Vechio and everything in between. Loved the old feel to the building.

Family Trip Italy 2025

Perfect location! The views from the top floor were amazing, you can see all of Florence including the Duomo. Plenty of space for a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. The old architecture of the building is very cool. There are many steps and no elevator. So be prepared to walk a lot of stairs, including carrying your luggage up. 91 steps from the sidewalk to the apartment door, plus more inside. The views are worth the steps!

Worth walking up 91 stairs!

This place is spectacular. The views are incredible. We had a blast making a dinner of pesto pasta in the kitchen (it has everything you need except paper towels!). Just be ready to climb some stairs. I would not recommend this place if you have rolling luggage. Much easier with backpacks!

Amazing View

We loved staying at this apartment!You get the feel of how the old style Itlalian living was.There are LOTS of stairs getting to the apartment and in the apartment itself but it is so worth it!The living room area is way up at the top of this building and the view we had up there was amazing! We got to see some beautiful sunsets from up there.The apartment is also in a great location, close to many restaurants, bars and shops and just a short walk to main attractions/museums.We all would highly recommend staying here!

Unique place

First off I'll say the views are amazing. Big windows in all rooms that overlook beautiful Florence. Odd layout with steps up/down to each room. The room you walk into is the family room/kitchen/bathroom. Couch is stained and not very inviting. Crumbs in the kitchen and our socks were filthy after walking around. Dustbunnies in the corner of the bedrooms. Also, we love hearing the sounds of the city, but you could hear actual conversations at the bar nearby until 2am, even with the windows closed. Location was good besides the bar noise. Views on top floor are amazing but the steps prevented you from using it all that much. Could be a cool place with some deep cleaning and a paint job throughout.

Interesting experience in mideaval tower

We really liked the stay in the tower. The view is breath-taking and was the highlight of our stay in Florence. It's centrally located, close to major sights.Property management company is responsive. We didn’t have hot water on a night we came in. They fixed it next day. I’d suggest to provide household supplies based on number of days guests are staying. We were there for 6 days and had only 2 tablets for dish-washer, 1 garbage bag.Overall good experience and I can recommend it for other travellers.

The apartment was lovely and the pictures are accurate. The location was perfect, halfway between the Duomo and Santa Croce. The views were amazing but you pay for them by climbing all the stairs to the unit. If you are in good condition this apartment is for you!

Out of breath!

This property is wonderful! GREAT location! Florence was our favorite, shops were convenient, food was delicious! But this property is not for you if you aren’t physically fit! Too to many stairs & then to get luggage up there, God help you! 87 steps to get to this place! View was great, from the 3rd floor! Beds were very hard! Bring your own towels, if you can!

Great stay in Florence

We enjoyed our stay at this property! The stairs were a bit of a challenge, but the view and location made it worth it! We arrived in Florence via train. We were called by property manager while arriving. He greeted us at the door and gave us good instructions about the home. The location was excellent. Great walkable location. We took a pasta cooking class that was literally right next door. The class was fun with lots of wine!! Would recommend this property to my friends!
