We loved the charm of this home -- lots of vintage character mixed with some newer construction. Awesome wrap around porch and the hot tub was clutch! I really appreciate that the pet fee was built in to the advertised rate. Weather was fabulous.Very good location, although no direct route to beach. Drivers really fly on the road (Kiwanda/Heceta Beach Rd to 1st Ave) and do not typically slow for pedestrians. No sidewalks and the shoulder is largely nonexistent. Only wish would be for a little more sun on the deck/porch. Note: The beach towels were stinky (mildew). Should soak in vinegar and wash on hot. Also, a product called Nature's Miracle is the absolute best for removing organic stains (pet). (We did find dog pee on one corner upstairs.)What I didn't appreciate was the hounding re: cleanliness and repeated questions about how our stay was going from Vacasa after we checked in. WE ARE ON VACATION, STOP BUGGING US! There was an offer to stay an additional night, but when I inquired, the charge was 2.5x the rate I paid for the other nights...if anything, Vacasa should offer a 4th night discount rather than let the house sit empty! (Note: the Vacasa attendant did come back to me with an offer of 1.5x the rate after I declined the original, but we decided not to stay a 4th night after all.)

We absolutely love this property. The only issues we had this time around were the hot tub having some issues (which they tried to fix, but it was only a temporary fix), and some items left behind in the freezer that we weren't quite sure how to handle.

Wonderful stay overall. The hot tub wasn't ready for us, and when I called vacasa, they explained that it was guest responsibility to turn on and wait for it to get to temperature. I don't think I'll return because of how that was handled. Home and location and hot tub was lovely. Rode horses on the beach nearby.

Beach House 2 Blocks Away

Clean rustic beach house. Pictures are old. Old home with older furniture. Expect your grandpas beach getaway not on the beach. Great fun. Hot tub was good. Beds are normal. Adventures to be at. Price was right for family 5 of us. Hot water was good in showers. Better than booking two hotel rooms for twice the money. Kids loved the tower. My 13 yr old decided not to sleep in the bunk bed and loved rhe tower to read a book looking at the ocean. Food was amazing for Gluten Dairy Free. Fun time.

Great weekend getaway

A group of friends were able to getaway to the coast for the weekend and the house was perfect! Great location with walking distance to the beach, the beds were super comfy and the hot tub was great!

It would have been helpful to have instructions on how and if the heater worked. Also the instruction about how to leave the house in the house before we left . We got them after we arrived home. Not the owners fault,. Step -up Vacasa. Called Vacasa about the heat they really weren't helpful. The house was super clean. and very quiet.

Desperately needs new furniture

When we got there the ladies that were cleaning were just finishing up and leaving. One of them made sure to tell me how hard they worked to clean and refill the hot tub and asked me to “please not get it dirty again”, lol. The house could be super cute if the furniture wasn’t decades old and pretty much destroyed. My husband and I joked about buying and donating a nicer recliner from goodwill so the house would have one piece of decent furniture. The fridge was literally duct taped together inside. So we couldn’t put anything too heavy on the door shelves or the bottom shelf. The tv was the smallest I’ve ever seen in a vacation home. I’m just going to stop here because I feel bad and usually don’t say anything if it’s not nice but I definitely would not spend money to stay here again.

Fun Place

The house was in a great location, short walk to the beach. Interesting details and architecture. There was a problem with the electrical outlets and the heater wouldn’t come on. Vacasa responded quickly and send someone over with a space heater. We went and bought wood to use the fireplace and that was perfect. Don’t stay here if you’re afraid to build a fire or you’ll freeze!

Relaxing

It was delightfully relaxing. Loved the hot tub and a place was just what we needed. The only issue we had was the walkway to the house was overgrown with bushes and evergreen blackberries.

Overall it was a successful stay. House is cozy and has a fun layout. Great to have toys and books with TVs in the rooms, kitchen was stocked. Beds were comfortable, sheets were soft. Great to be able to bring the dog. Close short 5 min walk to the huge beach. Some cleanliness points left something to be desired, cobwebs on model sailboats, mildew/mold on windows, towels smelled like stale butter popcorn. Hot tub buttons were broken and tub was already sandy when we arrived. Overall it was good and would recommend.

Enjoyed our stay

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Pros - location to the beach, dog friendly, and house amenities ( hot tub was wonderful!) Cons - wifi and cleanliness ( beds felt clean, but there was sand on the couch and dead bugs on the walls in the bedroom)

Family weekend away

Got away for a weekend before Thanksgiving. We enjoyed the hot tub, cooked together (kitchen was pretty well stocked with things you might need) (we bring all our own favorite cooking things), and had a fire to keep the place warm. It was a bit drafty - it was a very blustery afternoon/night - so bring your house slippers and get ready for a nice coastal getaway.

Beautiful house and location

The house was well set up, beautifully decorated, and loved the easy access to the beach and private hot tub. We did notice that there was a lack of cleanliness with dog hair covering the rugs and furniture, sand in the hot tub, and dirty fireplace hearth. Whenever we sat down we would come away with dog hair on our clothing or charcoal stains if we set things down on the hearth. The downstairs toilet handle kept falling off, and screws were loose in the upstairs bathroom door which prevented it from shutting. Without the fireplace in use, the downstairs was quite cold and the small standing heater had a hard time warming such a big space. Bathrooms were very clean, as well as linens and towels. Upon notifying the property management, they were highly responsive and did offer to send a cleaner to take care of the mess mid-stay. We appreciated the communication and opted to finish our stay before a crew came in, and we're satisfied overall with both the house and management.

Beach getaway with character

Our family enjoyed the chance to be at the beach. Though our teen ages complained about the Wi-Fi speed, we were able to disengage from troubles of work.

Worst experience In a vacation home

from the moment we arrived it was horrable.. We were greeted by another person in the driveway renting a shack on the same property....From there it only gets worse.. this is a 3 story very tall house with kids rooms up stairs with No safety locks on windows or screens.. Very ran down house.. Pet friendly..Hmmm How about the ant poison packets all over?? So glad my dog had to stay in her kennel the entire stay...The front door has holes and cracks thru it....The TOILET doenst work and Not a single heater in the entire house worked...When we contacted the rental Company VACASA they told us we could leave and go home...Thats a 5 hour drive with my kids and dog in the middle of the night...I could write a book on how bad and unsafe this place is!!!! and we have tons of pictures to show....We would like a refund as this is absolutly unexcusable......

This is a charming little house with a lot of character in a great location.

It is a bit of a walk uphill to get to the house from the parking. Once inside it is very charming but we found dirty pans in the cupboard and the house smelled like bacon. The beds are low quality and uncomfortable. The garbage disposal was jammed and the wall heat units did not function properly (on/off). The TV spent more time buffering than playing movies. You need to watch your step one the stairs outside and the towels smelled musty or something,other than that, it is a great place to stay for that price range. We stayed mids week.
