Our stay here was very nice, offering privacy and not in the chaos of the city center. The pictures do not do it justice! It's adorable and still very convenient to all activities, restaurants, shopping, etc. Unfortunately, it was relatively cool inside for most of our stay, with the average temperature of 18.2 Celsius or 65 Fahrenheit. I would imagine this is ideal in the spring, summer, and autumn.

A gem

This was our favorite place we stayed in all of Italy. The house was charming and comfortable, we loved the beds, the neighborhood was fantastic and very close to everything one would want to visit. We feel lucky to have found it.

Lovely little house, great location. Walking distance to just about everything you will want to see. Our greeter, Cristiana was pleasant and helpful. A bottle of wine and sweet treats were left for us upon our arrival. Would highly recommend this place. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The hill you must walk up to get to the house might be a challenge to some. We are in our 70s and in good shape, and so it was not a problem for us.

A week’s return visit to Florence after 25 years

My partner and I found these accommodations spectacular! Impeccably clean and furnished and comfortable. It is true to the pictures online—and the two levels and the layout of the rooms even more delightful than the photos can capture. We were sad to say goodbye to this very special place and hope to return one day.

Great location! Easily walkable, quiet neighborhood.

We had a wonderful time staying in this VRBO. The location is perfect, 10/10. We arrived early, the host helped us coordinate a spot to leave luggage to allow us to walk around Florence. We were so close to Ponte Vecchio & a short walk to sunsets at piazzale michelangelo, a grocery store and many good options for aperitivo and coffee. Would return again.

Great location and super cute place

We loved our stay in Florence and having this cozy apartment was super convenient. Aside from the short walk up and down a steep hill its was great! Although we didn’t mind the extra exercise! Quiet street close to the bridge and all sorts of action. Highly recommend, will use again!

Our property was so nice! It was clean, well laid out, and charming.The kitchen was just fine for our breakfast and snack snacks. The outdoor veranda on the second floor is beautiful.Well, the person that helped us with check-in was very nice, we got a wrong address and it kind of got us off on the wrong foot. And also took her a while to get there with the key. I do wish that would’ve been a little bit more smooth, but perhaps it was just the day. Just FYI this apartment is up a very large hill. Be prepared to walk it several times a day!!

Firenze trip

Apartment is spotless in very good condition. Exactly as described. There is a fine grocery store close to Ponte Vecchio with a large selection of foods on offer. Also some good pastry shops. One caution is that the access is about 150 meters up a steep hill. At the end of the day for those 60+ after having walked all day, this can be a challenge.

Well appointed Ponte Vecchio

Really enjoyed the unit. It is two levels with bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Kitchen and living room downstairs. Well appointed with paintings and nice furniture. AC was great since it was hot. Location was excellent just two blocks up from ponte Vecchio. Very manageable 20 minute walk to train station. Really enjoyed unit although could be difficult with stairs.

A great place to launch your exploration of Florence

The property is sizeable and clean, with all the amenities we needed. Air conditioning worked great, laundry facilities (badly needed at our third week in Europe) were good, and proximity to anything we wanted to walk to was perfect. I will say the cash that was required at check-in was irksome - allowing me to pre-pay online would have helped avoid a trip to the ATM at an awkward time. Also you must traverse a steep incline to get to the apartment, which can be daunting after a day of walking the city. The 2-wheeled vehicles that park in front can definitely be irritating noise-wise, but something we got used to. We had a great stay and will certainly consider this property again for future stays in Florence.

Authentic Italian

Overall great stay in this authentic Italian apartment. Very clean. The little touches like the bottle of wine, bottle of water, the cookies, the bar of soap, the little extras were very thoughtful and appreciated. Check in was super easy. Fantastic location with walking distance to so much! Literally 3 minute walk away from Ponte Vecchio. Felt very safe here. I thought we would use the balcony but we never did. Not really very comfy. Plus we were out all day every day exploring. The bed was a bit firm. Some may like that. The biggest issue we had was with the mosquitos inside the apartment! We got bitten every night while asleep. And not one or two bites. Many bites. We're from Canada and we're used to mosquitos but we don't have them in our home like this place does. I think screens on the windows would help. That's what works for us.

Perfect little Italian hideaway

We could not have been more pleased with our stay here. Other reviews say the pictures don’t do it justice, and they are CORRECT! Tucked away just off the road, this beautiful two-story apartment features an incredible terrace where you can enjoy the morning sun, the afternoon breeze, or the night sky. You’re also close enough to the main drag but far enough away that it’s still quite quiet.Will DEFINITELY be returning!Thank you to Cristiana for being a most gracious and wonderful welcome committee, too!

Lovely house, fantastic location

We spent four weeks at Casetta Bonsi in October 2021. Since we were there for an extended period, we settled in and became very familiar with the house and surroundings; more so compared to the usual one-two week visit. The house proved to be very comfortable. The upstairs bedroom is large and has plenty of closet space. The bed was very good. The bathroom also is fairly large and features new, modern furnishings. The terrace is small but good for sitting out in for morning coffee. The downstairs seating and dining areas were great for lounging around during the evening. The kitchen is small but functional, and fairly well-equipped. (Note, however, that while there is a microwave, it doesn't have an oven.) The dishwasher and clothes washer were an added bonus. As other reviewers have noted, the location is exceptional. The main tourist areas are steps away. Plus, the Bardini and Boboli gardens are a short walk up the hill (past a house where Galileo once lived); both are lovely and a great respite from the crowds (although, TBH, it wasn't so crowded when we were there). Finally, the owner, Maurizio, was very friendly and accommodating. We needed his help with a couple of very minor things, and he was super helpful and responsive. Recommended heartily and unconditionally!

Wonderful Florence apartment, location and stay!

Wonderful vacation in Florence! Our stay at Casetta Bonsi was perfect from start to finish. We totally enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, charming house very close the Ponte Vecchio bridge. It was spotlessly clean, very beautifully furnished and well maintained as well a lovely welcome of chocolates for our arrival! Loved having a glass of wine at the Golden View just a 5 minute walk away, great views over the Arno river at sunset. Favorite restaurants were Casalinga and Il Bordino for authentic Tuscan food. We would definitely recommend staying at Casetta Bonsi.

Not 5 Star and Not Recommended

This place is well located for eating, drinking and sightseeing. The place itself is what it is; it’s old and it’s in Italy! The kitchen is hopeless so it’s lucky there are places nearby to eat. Cleanliness is an issue. Don’t walk around the place in bare feet unless you like the underside of your feet turning black. Also, if dust is your thing, there’s lots in the upholstery as well as plenty under any low to the floor piece of furniture. We would go out for the day and be fine only to return later in the day and instantly have a sneezing session and a blocked nose until we left again. The AC works OK but life would be simpler if MM the owner (aka Scrooge) would provide a remote for both the upstairs and downstairs units rather than trusting you with only one. Don’t bother with the TV. It’s painfully small and mostly shows snow. The Wi-Fi works, but it’s slow and takes frequent rest breaks. Check-in is painful as MM collects the cleaning fee and the city tax and then shows you around and takes you through his ‘suggestions and recommendations’, which are thoughtfully provided as a printed document and which would rival the rules in place when Italy was run by Mussolini! Should you be staying more than 7 nights, as we were, make sure you make arrangements at check-in with MM about the linen and towels change to which you are entitled. Otherwise, as happened with us, it won’t happen. MM understands every one of the provisions in the letting agreement that puts money in his pocket but none of those that provide something to you. During the check-in process you need to pay full attention to the butane and electricity meter readings that MM takes (or has taken). You will need these at check-out so you can do your own sums against the check-out meter readings, unless of course you enjoy being ripped off. At check-out, if MM produces a small solar powered calculator from the Venetian cupboard, you need to pay very close attention to his calculations. This calculator is as old as MM and simply doesn’t work properly. He had us down for 100 kWh more than the 79 kWh we had used. At 55-euro cents a kWh (which where we come from, we call gouging) it would have been bye-bye to 55 euros. And let me tell you, it took 20 minutes of stressful arguing with MM before he finally got the calculation correct. Then followed another argument about the 20 euros change he needed to give me from the cash payment I had just made to him. Scrooge himself would have been proud.

Very lovely, well appointed home located on a quite picturesque side street.

The owners, Maurizio and Gabrielle, provided a warm welcome upon our arrival. Maurizio gave us a complete understanding of all the features of the home as well as providing detailed info on local shops, restaurants and points of interest. He was also very helpful in arranging transportation to and from the train station. The house itself is well appointed and provides all the comforts of home. It is also just minutes away from the Ponte Vecchio and other historical sites. When we return to Florence there will be one place we will want to stay and that will be Maurizio’s home.

All the comforts of home in the heart of Florence

This was the perfect spot for our visit to Florence with our 20-something son. My husband and I enjoyed the privacy of the upstairs master bedroom and our son found the pull-out couch in the living room worked just fine for him. Every little touch is thought of in this small house. The kitchen was fully equipped with a dishwasher too. Maurizio met us when we arrived and gave us a very full orientation to the place. He also thoughtfully arranged a cab for us, the day we left. There were many personal touches -- we arrived to find a bowl of fresh fruit, a bottle of wine and Italian cookies to welcome us. This little place is a short walk from everything that we wanted to see in Florence and has a grocery store and various restaurants just 5 minutes away. Maurizio left us a very helpful list of good reasonably-priced restaurants in the area, which we used. We would happily stay here again!
