The location of this property was great, and the old house has some charm. Walking distance to charming downtown Florence. The host was really great to work with and was flexible to meet our needs.
However; there are some things they could do to improve the stay.
1. Need more lighting. We arrived at night and the place was SO DARK. Nearly all of the outside lights were burned out, and some of the inside lights had 10 watt bulbs in them. It was very dark in most of the rooms.
2. Keypad access is only in the back, which requires you to climb a steep metal staircase if you are on the upper floor.
3. Tend the landscaping. The grass was in desperate need of mowing.
4. Do periodic cleanings if no one has stayed for a while. When we got there you could tell it had been cleaned, but it had been a while, since there was a layer of dust on everything. The front porch was in a state of complete disarray with trash piling up.
5. Add furnishings. The living room was large, but not well furnished. Plenty of space for additional seating.
You can tell the area is developing, and this place is quite charming, just set your expectations that the place is old and has the qualities of an old house (uneven, creaky floors, doors that don't close all the way, small bathroom).
