  • The Big Tatanka is the perfect place to experience the Ozarks. This gorgeous 2 story home sits on the bank of the White River at Buffalo Shoals in a private setting with walk in access to the river, allowing you to enjoy one of the most beautiful locations in the Ozarks. The Big Tatanka offers plenty of space to spread out and enjoy your stay. The home sleeps 15. The main level includes dining for 15, a full kitchen, a large great room, 3 full bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and a deck overlooking the river. The lower level offers a 2-car garage, 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, a large great room, foosball table, refrigerator, microwave, and patio. For the more adventurous types, the home is approximately 2 miles to a Buffalo National River hiking trail, approximately 6 miles to the Ranchettes public boat launch on the White River, and approximately 9 miles to a public launch access on the Crooked Creek. We would be happy to connect you with some local guide services if you have a desire to book a guided fishing trip while staying with us.

Lovely home with beautiful view of and easy access to the White River. Host also supplied us with a basket of fresh vegetables and other nice touches that made the stay a delight!

This place is beautiful! Very spacious! Plenty of beds! The kitchen is well equipped and the living areas are super comfortable. You can access a ramp a few miles away that lets you navigate up to cotter and down to Buffalo City. Great responsive hosts would definitely return.

Sandy was an excellent host, she was prompt to respond with any questions or concerns that we had. We had a meeting point to follow her to the property and give us a tour. The kitchen was very spacious and very well equipped including a keurig downstairs and upstairs along with a regular coffee pot, washer and dryer was a plus. There ended up being twelve on the trip and the house was perfect with plenty of privacy in the home. AR is beautiful and this location showcased its beauty.

Buffalo Shoals Getaway

This is an excellent property for family retreats. It's just the right size for our family of 12. The house and amenities are great and the river views beautiful. This was our third year there and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay each time. The owners are wonderful, gracious people.

Great place for multiple families. We had 11 men gather for trout fishing on white river. Plenty of beds bathrooms and very nice kitchen. Also plenty of seating for eating or visitin. Great location for everything. Very private, but also close to town. Highly recommend this place for anyone. Host was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Clean, secluded, plenty of room

This was a great location for a guys trip getaway. Plenty of room to accommodate our group. This is a unique stretch of river that provides great scenery and seclusion. The host was great with communication and had the place looking great inside and out. Can't wait to come back!

Wonderful Family Getaway

The house has the most amazing views od the white river from multiple decks and patios. A beautiful property with ample room to walk and hosted all of our family without feeling cramped. A true gem 8n Northern Arkansas!
