"We informed the hotel we'd be arriving early as we were attending a wedding, and they very kindly had the room ready for our arrival. The room was clean and had comfortable twin beds, with a gorgeous view over the village square and Middleham Castle. The welcome we received was warm and friendly. "The room was nice & clean , a bonus was the air conditioning as it was hot weather . We also ate evening meal there which was ok , breakfast was plentiful with a good choice . We only stayed one night on our way to Scotland & our daughter & family met us there to complete the journey . What was nice was that they were able to park & use the hotel for food / drinks etc . "I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. "

My room location was less than ideal at the very top of what seemed to be a never ending staircase, however the room itself was very nice, albeit a smell in the bathroom which smelt of drainage. It was however clean and spacious. The breakfast and evening meal were great and again all staff lovely and helpful."

"A comfortable cottage with all necessary amenities, including a wood burning stove and plenty fuel. Located in a small village near a friendly pub. Village shop is only open half days but Leyburn with a range of shops and places to eat is only 4 miles. Great area for walking"
