Fabulous Stay at Beautiful, Relaxing Venue
What a fabulous stay we had at this beautiful, relaxing and peaceful venue. There was nothing missing - a beautiful location, stunning home, comfy bed, incredibly huge lawn that my dogs never wanted to leave, perfect location for why we were in town, yummy strawberries and oranges at the nearby fruit stand, kind, helpful and responsive host...and I could go on and on and on. One of the best stays we have ever had!

Like staying in a castle!
The house was large enough for nine adults to comfortably stay with plenty of privacy and areas for groups activities. Everything in the house is designed for comfort and relaxing. Shelly is so welcoming and was available to answer any questions. The grounds are immaculate and there are even outdoor games provided. We would love to come again when we gather from all over for a reunion! Thank you Shelly for sharing your home with us!

Wonderful Experience for Local Wedding
This was a great place for our group of ten. Nice property next to a tree farm and nearby river. The house is classic with a really great outdoors set up. Loved the pool and played a surprising amount of croquet and footfall toss on the big lawn. For cooking it was well set up looked really good for grilling though we didn't do as much. The best part was the hosts who deserve 5+ stars. As an example they loaned us some welding helmets for the annular eclipse that was happening, dealt with plumbing problem inside a 1/2 hour and we're overall very knowledgeable of the local area which was great. Our wedding was in Moorpark which is 12 miles but over a windy pass. Nothing special by Colorado standards but not a standard trip just FYI. Would lve to stay again someday.

Amazing weekend
This house is so awesome that we didn’t need to go anywhere. It was clean, spacious and has everything you can think of. The pool is great and so is the outdoor kitchen, a/c is a plus in the summer too. The property managers are super kind and want people to enjoy the home and yard. There is so much space inside and out.

Fillmore post Victorian beauty
This is the second time my husband, I and our dogs have stayed at Shelley’s beautiful home in Fillmore! We just love coming here. It’s so tranquil and such a quick drive up from Los Angeles. I feel like we’re in another world on the farm. Our dogs just love to run around outside and swim in the pool and we love how big and private the property is. The house is sparkling clean with a fully stocked kitchen with everything you would need, including soft comfy towels in the bathrooms, a great movie selection, and all the modern amenities. We love the extra outdoor kitchen, so we can barbecue while hanging outside all day. The views of the mountains, especially in the morning as the fog is lifting, is just beautiful. Nothing better than walking outside with a cup of coffee when it’s still dewy and brisk while staring at all the natural beauty. We just love coming to the Fillmore house and can’t wait to visit again next year! Shelley is truly the kindest and easiest person to deal with. Thank you Shelley for another absolutely beautiful stress free weekend. 5 stars all the way around.

Great property to relax and have some fun!
We booked this property as we were attending the throwdown in Ventura. It was a nice size house that accommodated all our guests comfortably. The host was very accommodating and very welcoming. The pool is great and they also have a great backyard, as you can see from the pictures. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Fantastic house in Fillmore
This house is huge. Me and my family age ranged from 3-77 all enjoyed this house. The outside space is second to none. We loved outside for the entire time-the outdoor kitchen was huge, the pool was huge, multiple seating areas (we didn't sit in them all there were that many and the huge lawn with floodlights. My kids will forever remember playing baseball, soccer and football in this garden until 9pm at night under the lights. The house was equally as big, spacious rooms, everything you could need and more. Shelley and Clark couldn't have been more helpful and even offered assistance with inclement weather approaching. If ever in this area again I wouldn't look to book anywhere else-I'd just reserve here. Thanks for a memorable stay.

Wonderful experience
Shelley was an amazing host and her property was a little oasis, it was a great place to bring family and friends together. We stayed for a long weekend and didn’t want to leave, can't wait to book our next visit! The house was beautiful, spacious and very clean. The outdoor grounds were perfect for our group, the pool was awesome, we got great use of the outdoor kitchen and loved the large lawn area and beautiful surrounding gardens.

Fillmore Getaway
We had a very relaxing time at the house. The pool was enjoyed by all of us, and the large lawn was perfect for a game of croquet, and our two dogs. It was the perfect place for a much needed vacation getaway. The market is also conveniently close by.

Fillmore Vacation Destination
I grew up in Ventura County, but now live in San Diego. When I come up to visit my family (who live in Santa Paula and Oxnard), I'm always looking for a vacation rental that will accommodate my two large pups and roomy enough so that my parents, brother's family (4 kiddos) and best childhood friends can come visit. Shelley's gorgeous post-Victorian home does just that and more. Even though June "gloomed" (as she always does), we still had so much fun grilling outdoors, swimming in the pool, and playing wiffle ball in the huge, inviting yard. There is so much space indoors as well. In the evening, we'd choose a movie to watch from the vast selection of DVDs or from Netflix/Prime that were available to us or we'd sit at the kitchen table chatting and playing board games (also available). Needless to say, everyone (family/friends) has let me know we should rent this amazing place again. I couldn't agree more! Shelley and Clarke, thank you for sharing your home with the VRBO world! ❤️

Home Away From Home!
First impression was “wow!” Beautiful grounds and a very charming home! It was a wonderful place in a neat and tucked away spot, yet it was right off the Highway which was efficient for quick trips to the grocery store. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the wares that we weren’t missing anything. We were at capacity and the bathroom/bedroom ratio was just right! The pool was fantastic and enjoyed every day with the various pool toys available. It was so comfortable that it felt like home away from home! Can’t recommend it enough!

65th Birthday Party
Several friends celebrated my birthday with me at this fabulous house! It was large enough to give everyone lots of room. We loved the outdoor kitchen for making BBQ Tri-Tip and grilled salmon. Shelly and Clark were very helpful and accommodating with whatever we needed.

Beautiful, spacious, great location - perfect for a wedding weekend
Charming, historic house with all the comforts of modern conveniences. It was even more than we needed for our group of 7 adults. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans, and condiments. There was plenty of hot water for showers. It was a sort of a rainy and chilly weekend in March, but we were very comfortable in the house. Groceries are available in the nearby town of Fillmore. Also, try the Roan Mills Bakery. Shelley was very friendly and responsive. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others!

Our dogs have no place near our home to run free. Here they about a 1/2 acre walled in to run their hearts out. They already miss the place. Truth be told we do too.

Wonderful!
This is an amazing property! There was room to spread out, and many places to come together. My family was able to spend quality time with each other while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Sitting on the porch drinking coffee in the morning is one of our favorite memories. We hope to stay here again.

Beautiful, unique house with plenty to do
The weather didn’t allow us to make use of the pool, but we were able to play bocce ball and it was a lot of fun. The piano and spiral staircases added charm and character. There was plenty of room for all 8 of us to eat together, inside and out.

We had an amazing stay at this property! Shelly, the host, was super communicative throughout the entire process from prior to checking in to the end of it. The property is absolutely stunning. Perfect for a girls’ trip!
We stayed with a group of friends for a girls’ trip. There was plenty of space to be together. The outdoor pool, yard, garden, and kitchen was perfect for a day by the pool. We did a day wine tour in Ojai which was 30 min away. The owner was easily accessible by text to answer any questions I had during the stay. I would definitely recommend this house!

Property hit the mark, but impacted by ant infestation
Spacious house, property, pool, and outside kitchen were exactly as advertised. The stay was greatly impacted by an ant infestation. Owners quickly responded with outside treatment and a refund which was appreciated. Had to purchase our own indoor treatment and learn to live with the ants. The house was right off a main road so traffic noise day and night. We had a good stay overall.

Great for a big group and LOTS of space indoors and outdoors.
We stayed here for 9 days while we visited friends and family in the area and attended a wedding. Fillmore is a small town without much to do (we knew that) but we didn’t mind driving around to the places we wanted to go. The owner is very responsive and attentive.

Wonderful Stay
The house was beautiful and so perfect for our 6 adults and 3 kids under 2. The backyard is amazing and so comfortable to relax and enjoy. There is quite a bit of road noise since the highway is so close but the wall surrounding the property and all the vegetation helps tremendously. We hope to return!

Fillmore Post Victorian
There is so much I can say about Shelley’s beautiful Fillmore home and all of it is extremely positive! From the first moment I started to deal with Shelley I knew we were going to have a wonderful experience. Shelley is very warm, extremely helpful and friendly. I have to say she’s one of the nicest hosts we’ve ever dealt with. Upon entering her beautiful home we were in awe of all it’s beautiful architecture yet warm and cozy touches that made it feel like a really great family home. Its even better than pictured. The backyard is incredibly spacious, beautifully landscaped with flowers and mature trees. We so enjoyed cooking outside in the full kitchen while enjoying a hot summer day in the inviting pool. The views of the mountains and beautiful backyard could not have been more relaxing. We barbecued each evening on the gas grill and played games and watched movies in the cozy family room after the sun went down. Stargazing in the backyard after dark is a must! Waking up to views of the surrounding farm with mature citrus and avocado trees really make this place serene. This was truly a beautiful place to relax and enjoy. The home itself was extremely clean, bedrooms, very cozy and comfortable and bathrooms had everything you could need. The kitchen was fully stocked and equipped. We enjoyed quite a few homemade meals while there for our long weekend and there was never a time we needed or wanted for anything. This place is really special and we truly hope to be back soon! Thank you Shelley for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. You are a great hostess and we cannot wait to come back and visit again!

Great property for summer down time
The swimming pool is great. Laundry facilities working. Outdoor kitchen great for grilling. It is an older house and has some problems that come with that- windows that can't open, drippy bathtub, and an ant issue (there are baits all over but don't seem to make a difference.) Directed to not set a/c lower than 78, but we didn't really find it necessary to have it on at all- open windows at night (the ones we could) with fans and old house design kept it cool enough even in July to be pleasant. Overall a great stay for a big family who want to just hang around, swim, watch some movies.

It was nice to have your family return for another stay. Sorry you had a few ants, they do tend to come around if food is left about too long. Yes, the newly installed commercial washer and dryer work great. The house was also built with extra thick walls, making it very energy efficient and comfortable year round. We are so sorry that some of the kitchen windows are currently unable to open. Unfortunately they were damaged by some previous guest and we are working on getting new parts. Happy to hear you had a nice family vacation.

Great house and property for a large family group
This vrbo couldn’t have been better for our purposes, because it offered both a comfortable house spacious enough to accommodate three generations and a beautiful, walled-in yard with a pool that the grandkids absolutely loved. And its location—Fillmore—was within easy driving distance of lots of places we wanted to visit: The Getty Center, the Channel Islands, Santa Barbara, Ojai. Hiking trails and beaches were nearby too. The proprietors couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful.

Awesome Property
This property was amazing!! We had a great family gathering for our daughters college graduation. The house is beautiful, lots of space! The yard, pool and BBQ area were perfect with lots of outdoor seating. Our dog loved the large yard to run around. Shelley was so nice, and responded to questions quickly. Amazing ranch with great setup for homely stay
A group of 9 of my friends and I stayed at Shelley’s house for a group weekend and it was great. We were able to make family meals every night and enjoyed the pool/yard every day. The house felt like we were all at home and there were enough bedrooms to accommodate a large group.

We were family group and place worked well for us. Great pool and lawn for croquet, frisbees, baseball etc. we ate all melas outdoors as there was an outdoor kitchen and plenty of seating. Loads of books to read, and DVDs to watch. Owners were nearby and very responsive. Fruit stand right outside the gate with incredible strawberries.

Awesome hosts, great property!!
What a perfect property! The hosts were so accommodating and even helped us find the perfect piece of wood for smoking our chicken. Each room was exactly as pictured, we appreciated the soaps and shampoos in the bathrooms too! The grounds and the pool were just perfect too. We will definitely stay here again!

Winter get away
Amazingly taken care of house with huge pool out back. Sadly not heated as we were there in February but the huge tears and plentiful outdoor games made available more than made up for that. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Would be perfect for up to 5 or 6 couples. Will most likely rebook and bring more people next time.

Great Christmas memories
The house is beautiful and so spacious. They even had a beautiful Christmas tree set up for us to put all our presents under. The owners answered my texts quickly with the answers I needed. House is clean and comfy. 10 adults and dogs had plenty of room to relax. We all enjoyed the backyard with games of soccer and football. We are coming back this next summer to take advantage of the pool.

Vacation Dream Property
Absolutely stunning home with many extras. Owners are extremely kind and helpful. Located between LA and Santa Barbara. Fairly easy to get to either, but a great way to be removed from the crowds. It couldn't be more perfect We can't wait to come back!

Perfect family getaway!
Our family had a wonderful time spending six days at this property! Shelley and Clark are very attentive hosts. Their home is immaculate and has everything you need plus so many special extra touches. We spent most of our time in the pool or playing bocce ball on the most gorgeous lawn we’ve ever seen. We tried recipes out of the old cookbooks, walked around the historical points in downtown Fillmore, and visited Oxnard Beach to play in the waves. Excellent location! We will definitely be back!

Wonderful family reunion property
After being separated by Covid and economics, we gathered at this charming and wonderful property. The house is quite large yet cozy. The ginormous lawn was perfect for the dogs to run and humans to play croquet. There's an outdoor kitchen, shower and bathroom by the pool and plenty of room on the patio for dining alfresco. Shelly and Clark are easygoing, friendly and responsive to any problems or questions. We had the best time just hanging out and are already talking about doing it again next year.
