Waterfront! Quiet, Spacious, Serene Retreat Located in a Private Wooded Setting

  • A private gated drive leads to The Chalet and its a 160 acres of quiet scenic serenity. This home offers a spacious, open floor plan (approximately 2,000 sq. ft.), and many windows engulfing one in sunshine, calm and nature.

    The home rents weekly from Saturday to Saturday in prime summer weeks and can also be rented on a daily basis thereafter.

    Amenities:

    Interior – The main level features a fully equipped kitchen, queen bedroom and full bathroom (all linens and towels provided). The living space is an open layout with high ceilings and a large fieldstone wood burning fireplace. There is a good sized sunroom equipped with a futon for extra sleeping. The upstairs loft has 2 queen beds and another full size bath.

    AC and washer/dryer also provided.

    Exterior - The private 160 acres include 2 spring fed lakes, great for swimming, fishing, hiking, etc. The swim raft, fishing boat, kayak and paddle boat are included.

    Other exterior features include a fire pit, spacious decking, and and charcoal grill.

    The Chalet is a perfect winter getaway with snowshoeing, cross-country skiing (on property and near VASA trails) and miles of snowmobile trails right outside the gate!

    We also have more properties within a mile of The Chalet that could be utilized in combination with the Chalet to accommodate a larger group (VRBO Listing #653026 The Cabin, and # 1654154 The Lodge)!

A great option for our family getaway. We loved the secluded feel of the property and the opportunities for relaxation & fun with the lake and trails. House is well kept and each of us thought it was better than photos did it justice. Grocery and food options are nearby and Traverse City is only about 30 minutes if you’re looking for more action. We all had a great time although I think the dogs may have enjoyed it the most!

Visited two years ago and came back after our son’s High school graduation. Such a beautiful place to stay. The lake provides stunning views and relaxation. We loved the swans and turtles that came to visit each day. We are already talking about a trip back again. Can’t wait for another morning on the deck!

Great Weekend Getaway

Lakefront paradise

This property is the perfect getaway no matter the time of year. Convenient location to amenities but yet totally secluded north woods paradise. Would recommend to anyone looking for an outdoor adventurous vacation or one of just relaxation and tranquility.

Great family Getaway

This place was amazing! Great location, and beautiful lake. Our family enjoyed the long hiking trails, paddle boat, kayaks and row boats. We even got to bring our pups! Only a short drive to Traverse City, We will definitely be back!

The location was perfect for what we were looking for: a waterview, peaceful surroundings. We were able to use kayaks and to hike a trail. Was definitely pet friendly and the fall colors were spectacular. Owners were friendly and helpful.

Really enjoyed our stay here! So peaceful and secluded. The chalet was very clean. It’s spacious and cozy. Loved the large windows facing the lake and the fireplace! The upstairs loft has 2 queen beds, a bathroom and some furniture which was perfect for my parents who came with us. Right on the snowmobile trail which is what we came for. Carole kept in touch to make sure we didn’t need anything. Definitely would stay here again!

Piece of Heaven

Quiet, Peaceful stay on the edge of a beautiful little lake. Area is a hiker's paradise inhabited with loads of wildlife. House was like home and Carole was accomodating without being intrusive. Great House, Great Location, Great Time.

Always Lovely

This is the 3rd time I have stayed at the Chalet. Carole is always great to work with and the property is amazing. Tucked away in the woods the Chalet offers seclusion but is close to everything we wanted to do.

Another Wonderful Stay
