"The Beach Hotel is a social enterprise run by the YMCA as an apprenticeship scheme. In light of this we had quite modest expectations for our stay. But these were misplaced - the hotel is spotlessly clean, and run by professional, welcoming staff. "Brilliant find. Needed somewhere to stay in Taunton last minute, and so pleased I found Beaufort Lodge. A beautifully kept property, and a fraction of the cost of one of the large chain hotels. Richard was extremely accommodating and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. "

"As I find stairs difficult with luggage, and no lift, staff were helpful and changed my room from 1st floor to ground. Staff were pleasant but bar service could be improved. The waiter was covering the kitchen and bar. He walked past me twice, while I stood at the bar, but I still had to open the door to the kitchen, and call, I had to ask for ice and lemon, but didn't get the lemon, it didn't seem available. Just small things really but could be improved. "
