Friendly Animal Farm

We came to the area to visit family and enjoyed the historic farmhouse. The place had everything we needed. We enjoyed all of the farm animals and country setting. It was very comfortable and relaxing. We definitely would stay again.

A cozy spot

The cottage is conveniently located and quiet. The farm animals are fun. It’s large enough to spread out but still cozy.

Relaxing in the countryside!

This house was so pleasant, situated in a rural setting… many ducks, chickens, geese to feed and relax with. The house was very clean and spacious.., just what we needed to be able to relax!

Quiet and cozy

Very nice property and a great place to stay and then explore the County, Cascades and Vancouver BC. Only comment would be to clean the patio area in the back so it was clean to use.

Quiet place on the farm

Every morning and evening we were greeted by a family of ducks. Ready to help us clean our crabs! We crabbed out of Birch Bay which was 5 miles down the road.

Exceeded expectations!

The pictures did not do this beautiful little farmhouse justice! It was very clean and cozy. Beautiful furnishings. The beds were very comfortable and linens were of high quality. It had everything we needed and more. It was perfect in everyway! Thank you! We will be back.

Christmas Family Celebration

We loved the cottage. Our son lives down the road from the place and their apartment is very tiny. It was great for our granddaughters to come and run about feeding all the animals and enjoying the snow. Their favorite room was the dressing room, which became their private playroom. The place was perfect for all of us. Thank you so much to Bev & Joe for their hospitality!

Great place to relax for a few days, owners are very helpful and friendly, we were in a large rv, they took us to the local grocery store one day, farm animals on the property are fun to watch especially at feeding time, awesome place will definitely return, house is great, wood floors throughout, nice warm heat with a fireplace in the living room, comfy bed with thick comforters, plenty of windows with good views, perfect stay!!

Charming and Peaceful

It is so spacious! Don't let the inviting exterior fool you. large rooms throughout. Farmhouse decorations so warm and welcoming. It had everything we needed. If there is one downfall it's that it only has one bathroom. Could use a bigger sign for all the addresses. We came in at night and it was a challenge to find the driveway. I would rent this property again. All the animals were a plus too!

We arrived on a Sunday to this beautiful little cottage with lots of open space and lots and lots of animals to visit. The people that work on the farm and the owners of the farm were so delightful and kind, letting us wander the property and feed all the animals. There were two donkeys, a Llama, two adorable goats, geese, ducks and chickens!! It was incredibly quiet and peaceful at night. The beds were soft and cozy. The house had everything we needed that made our stay memorable. We were also very close (1.5 hrs) to Vancouver, BC for a day trip. 10/10 Would Recommend!!

We loved the Farm

We enjoyed our extended stay at Orchard House. This historic cottage is is a wonderful retreat and escape from traffic and crowds. The cottage is spacious and sparklingly clean. We enjoyed the notes of history in the decor. But the high point was feeding the chickens, ducks, and geese, and learning so much about birds and their eggs from the friendly, gracious owners. We made fabulous omelets from bright yellow-yolked chicken and goose eggs, and loved learning about the different types of birds and their names and characters. What a peaceful setting, with freedom to walk around and observe life of the farm. No wonder so many reviews mention how kids love it, but we adults did, too. It was a great stay.

Cute home!

Absolutely loved this little home on the farm. Had plenty of privacy, the owners weren’t in our bubble at all. The beds were so comfortable, everything was clean, plenty of towels. I think an upgraded coffee pot would be nice, it was a slooow trickle. Keurig would be even better. And a way to store leftovers - foil, saran wrap, tupperware, etc. There was none and that’s a pain to deal with on vacation. But highly recommend this place. The ducks and chickens were a funny little bonus for non-farm people. :)

Happy Farm.

I’m afraid to review this awesome property because I want it available when I need it! This was our second stay here for 8 nights. It is the right amount of rustic, modern, cozy and vintage. Must love animals. You will hear the geeseand experience other animals during your stay. It is a fully functional no kill animal refuge and and caretaker Richard and his wife are frequently around to answer questions. We now know how to scare aware massive Eagles looking for a duck lunch. The beds are comfy, the linens soft and the entire house is exceptionally clean. Great location minutes from Hwy 5 and cute downtown Ferndale. Thank you Bev and Joe for sharing this homeAway fromHome🇨🇦🙏❤️

Heaven on Earth

From the second I turned into the driveway I was where I wanted to be. Beautiful rolling hills lush greenery everywhere I could hear the creek that runs through the property and it lead me down through some beautiful trees. The cottage is amazing and I fell in love with it as well as the gracious hosts They are quite wonderful people they stopped mid planting and gave us a tour of the property which is spectacular I can not wait to get back there to see them again.

Can’t Wait to Come Back!

I read a few other reviews before booking the Orchard House and all I have to say is some of y’all are silly! One post mentioned the comfort of the beds. Comfort is subjective. Everyone in my party found the cottage to be cozy and comfy. The beds were so welcoming and the pillows were like clouds for my head. If I could live in the cottage I would happily move in. There was always hot water, plenty of clean towels were provided. Having use of a well stocked kitchen made cooking easy and being able to wash my clothes before returning home was a huge plus! Hearing the geese in the mornings, watching the chickens and roosters peck around the grass and seeing the alpacas graze was a real treat. Wonderful and gracious hosts. I hope that anyone reading this comment decides to book and has just as much of a wonderful experience as we did.

Clean and quiet

Nice comfortable home. Clean and quiet, and my family enjoyed our stay. Joe and Bev were gracious hosts, and we are grateful for their help when we unexpectedly needed it. I recommend this house to anyone wanting a quiet getaway in close proximity to Bellingham and Canada.
