"Extremely personable landlord, Craig. Room was prepared ready for us to check in early (off to a wedding after a long drive) and sandwiches provided on request which was very much appreciated. The room and bathroom were spacious and nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable. Little communal kitchen area provided everything needed for a late night snack and breakfast which was a nice touch. Heard from local friends at the wedding that the food is great too. Favourite beer on tap which sadly...

"The lock on our assigned room malfunctioned so we were moved to an adjacent room. That room was adequate, though the bathroom was very small and thus awkward to use. Standard pub fare was provided for lunch and dinner - nothing to get excited about. Breakfast, however, was excellent and served in a room functioning as a coffee shop for nearby railway customers (their coffee is good). "On arrival at Bell Cottage we were met by occupants who directed us around the corner to the owner's house. The owner was not in but able to communicate via the Ring doorbell. We were greeted warmly and told where to collect the keys to a different property with en-suite and a shared kitchen, situated to the the left of the owner's house. So a bit of confusion to start with, but the attic room we occupied was lovely, cosy, comfy and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed our stay. "

"The pub is friendly with good food and staff.
The separate block which houses the bedrooms looks boring but the bedrooms inside are incredibly beautiful. I enjoyed underfloor heating in the bathroom and the lovely views of the countryside. "
