Stunning location and everything you need

We loved our stay at Shell Villa. The location and the sunsets especially were amazing - the photos simply don't do it justice. It is true that the road to the villa is not fully paved, but unlike some homes in the area, there are no steep scary hills to navigate. The process with the rental car agency recommended by the property management company was smooth as could be. We cooked most of our meals in the Villa and the owners have truly thought of everything you could possibly need - the new gas grill is amazing. Internet connection was great and beds super comfortable. The place is a short drive from all the happenings at English Harbour - including great restaurants and a nice shop to buy fresh fish. Hope to return soon!

Beautiful view, private spot

Getting to the house takes some driving skills and patience, as the road off the main one is mostly unpaved and quite long and hilly. Definitely need an SUV. The house is a simple Bermudian style, with windows that have louvres on them. If you wish to close the shutters to use the air conditioners, (which we did due to mosquitoes), the room is of course quite dark, but we had the windows and doors open most of the time to enjoy the sea breezes and view.The kitchen has everything you need, including enough foodstuffs to get you started, which was a nice touch. The views out the back are lovely as you see the gorgeous sunsets facing Guadeloupe, but be warned, this is not really a swimming beach as it is quite rocky. The pool is very small, but clean and there is a big barbecue we used which was great. The beds were comfy, the rooms decent sized, and it was great to have three bathrooms for the three bedrooms. The help that came to clean the pool, or house were quite accommodating and friendly. We drove all over the island trying out different beaches and restaurants and thus didn’t cook much, but there are a few small grocery stores reasonably close by. Go to Falmouth Harbor for fresh fish, grill on the deck and enjoy the views. Overall, the house was simple, a bit tired in places, but had all we needed and was a comfortable, private, quiet spot where you will enjoy your vacation. There were even a couple of cats that befriended us at the house , along with goats that we enjoyed seeing traversing the road to the house. The owners were very quick to respond to questions, and had good ideas re food shopping etc.

What a joy, we loved everything about it from well the ocean view and amazing sunsets to the well appointed kitchen, outside dining and lush garden feel. The racing sailboats were a real bonus. We are hoping to come back next year.

Great time and worth the money

I stay at this house for a week in Dec 2019. I was very impressed with everything. It was more like staying at a friends home than a vacation rental. Everything I wanted and needed was provided. The town of English harbor is 10 minutes away by car. You will find everything you want there. I will return and stay here again. I would say stop looking and book this house if you can. You will not be disappointed.

Great Vacation!

We had a wonderful vacation at Shell Villa. There were three couples in our party. We found the villa comfortable and very relaxing with the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks. We enjoyed watching the boats pass by right in front of us as they entered Falmouth Harbour or English Harbour. The villa was conveniently located for going into English Harbour for dinner, supplies, gas, etc. Daphne, who cleaned the villa mid week was an Angel. Nathan & Clare were wonderful and available if needed. The people on the Island are very friendly. We used the pool at the villa daily. One note is that there are cats that hang around the deck. Two people in our group are allergic to cats but never had any issues. All-in-all we enjoyed our stay and found the house quite adequate.

Superb villa in a tranquil location

We've been to Antigua quite a few times in recent years and stayed in all types of accommodation but often in rented villas. No villa is perfect but Shell Villa comes close. Located on the shore line facing south on Turtle Bay in a tranquil part of the Falmouth Bay Area ensures a relaxing and idyllic Caribbean style stay. The views of the races during Antigua Sailing Week from the deck were breathtaking too. The Villa comes fully equipped and there was nothing required to make our stay complete. The 3 bedrooms are fully equipped from aircon and comfortable netted King beds to beautiful ensuites with everything fully functional. The only minor point was lack of aircon in the main reception area although most times this was never an issue with windows and doors open during daytime hours. The pool while not large was the perfect accompaniment to the large deck area and verandas. The main attractions of Falmouth and English harbour are but 5-10 minutes drive - in an 4WD SUV - the latter recommended as many Antiguan roads are far from well founded and the route to the villa is a bit rough at times. Nathan and Clare were most helpful and welcoming as the on site Villa agents and the US owners Jenny and David more than communicative and supportive. If you want one of the best value villas in the Falmouth Harbour area - book Shell Villa anytime. We will return for sure.
