"We had a terrific stay at Patrice and Armelle's Gite. The hosts have large hearts and gave us a whole basket full of excellent local nuts. We were welcomed very warmly and kindly although we arrived late and Armelle helped us with all that we needed, including the rental and application of bedsheets. Patrice took much of his time for us during our stay. During one of the days, he super kindly showed us the proximity, their horses, and the plants around. The kids got attached to our hosts and...

There were some mice running about and we did find droppings in the bed, although the house was otherwise very clean and well appointed. We would have liked some coffee left in the cabinet at least for the first morning and the bedroom could use some hooks for clothes or coats. "The place was very clean and had everything needed for a great carefree holiday. The pool was always clean and well maintained. Hosts Phillippe and Veronique were great. Also very close to a large supermarket and Sarlat centre. I would highly recommend this place."

"When Mieke welcomed us, we felt immediately at home she couldn't have done more to make us feel at home and this continued through the week, checking on us and providing us with cooling fans, advice on places to see and anything else we needed. The property rustic with huge amount of character. It is in a very rural quiet setting but within an easy drive of places of interest in the Dordogne and Vezere valleys. Would definitely recommend if traditional is what you are after."

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for anyone with a dog. Very close to Sarlat which is beautiful . A short walk up the hill brought us to a lovely village and church which was beautiful.Follow the yellow signs in the village for a lovely circular walk back to the property via a bar, shop and cafe."

The only major problem was FINDING the house : the address is insufficient for the sat nav and a clearer description of its exact location would help. Otherwise excellent."

"The property is about 10 kilometres outside Les Eyzies. The stone house is well-equipped but is dark and smells of damp. It is surrounded by countryside but does not have views; the swimming pool is on a different property. Apparently it is normal in France for VRBO's not to provide sheets or towels."

"The staff was friendly and helpful. The parking was a bit difficult, but was just as it had been described. Our only complaint was the old wooden support beams in our room (room 36). In both the bedroom and the bathroom, these supprt beams took up room and were low enough for a tal person to need to stoop down to pass them. Ii guess it's the charm of modern retrofitting of an older structure. "
