FairPlay was awesome

It’s a cool little town, and a cozy beautiful open concept kitchen and living area. Lots of snow. Use only google maps to locate the property, don’t make any turns into snowy driveways unless you see the address or you may get stuck. Our route was plowed. We visited 3/15/25-3/21/25. There was fresh snow most days. There were sleds for use so no need to pack or purchase. We left a waffle maker. I saw a fully stocked kitchen. Downstairs are three bedrooms that get really hot, we used portable heaters in the master upstairs to prevent the uncomfortable heat downstairs. We saw 2 baby moose driving in and several fox in the area. Lots of animal tracks around the house. The dryer was suspect. We emptied the water reservoir but maybe weren’t working it right. It’s different. That would be my only request would be to put some guidance on the dryer. We had a great time. It’s a great gathering place.

Very nice, quiet

The road to the property was def a construction road with washboard rutting and some really serious bumps along the way. Glad we had a rental! Outside the property still shows signs of construction, but that did not detract from the view allbeit hard to see because of the tree growth. But trees are good! Inside, house was just as the pictures depict: great kitchen with lots of appliances (crockpot, blender, toaster, grill implements) plenty of utensils and cups and mugs galore; Used the elec fireplace on the cooler mornings/evenings. The basement tended to be quite cold even when trying to regulate. House was solidly built and very spacious - wide hallways and entrances, open rooms. The biggest annoyance about staying there was the lack of dressers in which to store our clothing. There was plenty of room for them - it's very messy to live out of suitcases for 4-5 days. That is our biggest gripe related to our stay. Sadly, the altitude (11,000+' ) did affect my husband greatly, and so we had to pull out 2 days early to get him to a lower altitude. All in all thought, we would return to this rental if it was at a lower altitude!

Stayed 4 nights for events surrounding a niece's wedding

We enjoyed the living space, large dining table, all kitchen items needed as well as some condiments. Games and puzzles were enjoyed, and the outdoor walking tour of the museum in Fairplay was wonderful. Loved the helpful folks at the grocery store. Be aware that the rental is nearly 2,000 feet higher than the 9,500 feet at Fairplay. Stay hydrated and maybe pick up a prescription for dealing with altitude. We live at sea level so it was a bit of a challenge.

April Snow

Great variety of toys and baby gear for the 2 year old on a snowy weekend in April. Kitchen was well equipped. 7 adults and the 2 year old all had a great time!

Off the beaten path

Really nice get away. The weather was very challenging (100 mile an hour winds and snow) so that made getting there challenging. Definitely need 4 wheel drive in the wintertime. Great spot for getting away and enjoying time together.

Perfect for families with young kids

We had 3 families with a total of 5 kids age ranging from 1 to 10. The setup of the house was perfect for all kids. Older kids had fun with the kids’ room, activity table and cushion mats. Baby enjoyed playing those motor skill building toys as well! It was especially awesome to be sitting in front of the fireplace while playing the board games with the kids. Manager was extremely helpful and responsive. On the first day of our arrival, almost everybody got sick from the high altitude, and everything in the house was very accommodating to our comfort. The house had literally everything we needed, even hot cocoa for the kids after playing in the snow with their sleds.
