This was a great little town and place to spend 1 night on our way from Mt. Cook to Christchurch. The unit was large and comfortable. The town was very quaint. The meat pies at the bakery were fabulous and worth the wait in line!

This is an absolutely incredible stay if you want to visit Lake Tekapo. I wasn't able to find even hostel accom there, but found Aorangi Motel and I'm so glad I did. I had a bit of car trouble and unexpected delays on the day I was travelling to Fairlie, and Erin was so incredibly helpful to deal with! The rooms are beautiful. The kitchenette is perfect for making morning oats and cups of tea, which is all I needed, and the shower was piping hot. I had an incredible sleep in the king bed after Tekapo stargazing! If I ever come back to Lake Tekapo/Fairlie (and I sorely hope I do) I will come back here, I think Erin runs a beautiful spot and that is clearly a labour of love for her and her family. The rooms feel warm, personable and comfortable. The last thing I will say is my own silly fault and warning to fellow travellers - if travelling during summer, close the windows after dusk. I left them open when I went stargazing, and came back to many little insect friends. I should have known better as an Aussie, but I digress.

Stayed here for 1 night, got to property and found chalk board with "Keys in your room", so meet no one upon arrival and saw no one the whole time we were there. Rooms were ok, we stayed in room 2 and Fridge was on but not working, didn't keep anything cold and stunk. Jog on bench also needs replacing, bottom of jug looked like tar and had floaties in water, plus wardrobe door was falling off rail. Went to look for ironing board (as none in room) & found 2 in laundry that were unusable, covered in dust & fluff, plus had tears in covers. Was convenient for location.

This is like an ol fashioned US motel. The keys are just left on the door. It's an older facility, but quiet and easy to walk to shops. The pillows were much too think but we found other in the closet. The kitchen supplies could use an update. The frypan wouldn't sit flat on the burner and the only spatula broke while scrambling eggs.

Super friendly staff. A real classic-kiwi setup. For those looking for a real classic kiwi accommodation, this is the place! When a place provides premium 3ply toilet paper classic crunchy chocolates, you know they spare no expense! Real classic kiwi experience. Cannot recommend them enough!!!

Very charming 3 night stay with close proximity to tekapo, walking distance to Fairlie bakehouse and easy access to The Starlight Highway. Lovely, spacious and well equipped rooms

Very thoughtful as this is the few motels equipped with a fan as the summer is very hot. When we reached there, though no one in the office, there is a board indicating which room we are assigned with the key at the door. Though the motel is a little old, the location cover the shortfall within walking distance to supermarket, eatery and laurdry.

Two bedrooms are big. Comfortable beds and pillow. Very clean. Very convenient check in and check out process. I love the welcome chocolates and flowers. All kitchen utensils are ready.

Clean and well located property
Very clean and tidy property. We got late but our room was kept ready and keys kept for us with details to access them. Small and minute amenities in the room were taken care off. The quality of amenities were very good. The kitchen had required equipment and cutlery. Eating places in accessible distance. Well located on the main road.
