I’d highly recommend considering the Rock Island Retreat if you are visiting anywhere from Jefferson City to Lake of the Ozarks. Our stay was perfect. The house is beautiful. The property is very scenic. The owners are terrific hosts. Our stay was very last minute (we reserved several days before our stay). We really felt at home. We were not able to take advantage of all the activities they offer (boating, fishing, etc) because of the short length of our stay. However, we hope to come back at some point for a longer visit.

This was our second stay. The property has lots of amenities that we used for a dinner with family and fun on the pond/lake. It’s clean, comfortable, and well furnished and supplied. Thanks for a great stay.

Thankful Awesome Stay

Thankful for Janet and Kerry for welcoming us on there property. Place is highly maintained and perfect for a small get away! Family treats you like there own and couldn’t ask for a better 4th of July weekend.

Perfect family vacation!

We had an amazing vacation and highly recommended this property! Our kids (8 year old twins and 2 year old) loved the pond, pavilion, fire pit, exploring the grounds, and especially Popeye and his smiles! This a perfect property if you want to be able to swim without the crowds and waves of a large lake. The house was clean, comfortable, and homey. Janet and Kerry are wonderful hosts! We also highly recommend Ice Cream 4 Ice Cream and Stark Caverns.

Great stay.

Nice and clean and had everything we needed. Too hot this weekend for being outside but enjoyed spending time in the indoor sunroom enjoying the view. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Quiet and peaceful

My husband and I stayed a weekend at this property. It was pretty hot so we didn’t really get out much and this property had mostly everything we needed. Nice and quiet. It is a bit off of the main road. If you’re looking for a quiet place to relax this is a great spot.

Slice of Heaven

We had a wonderful stay during the loudest holiday, 4th of July. It was peaceful and relaxing, the 1st time in 13yrs that my husband (Army Veteran) could truly unwind without his PTSD being triggered. Our son who's on the autism spectrum also had a relaxing time.... learning to swim! Gosh we had a blast! We will be returning, Yes that's how great it was! Relaxing getaway!

We booked to spend the weekend just after Thanksgiving and had a very relaxing stay in the cabin. We enjoyed the lake, took some hikes, and our kids loved their beautiful outdoor space. The house was awesome - very clean and fully stocked. We’re definitely keeping it on the list for a warm-weather visit!

A perfect lakeside retreat!

This property is beautiful, clean, and easy to find. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and all of the amenities included. The owners (and their dogs) are very friendly and accommodating. Our only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. Hopefully, we can visit again soon!

Bachelorette Weekend Getaway

This place is amazing!! You could tell the owners put a lot of hard work into thinking of every detail imaginable. Very serene, calm atmosphere which is exactly what we needed. We took advantage of all of the amenities and had the perfect weekend celebrating our friend’s upcoming wedding.

What a gem of a property! Private and secluded with its own pond. The owners dogs, Gordy & Popeye are fun to have around, but not an annoyance. Highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a nice place to "get away from it all".

Rock Island retreat R&R

Peaceful & beautiful! We had a very relaxing time both indoors & on the water. Only thing I would suggest would be new mattresses on beds as they were pretty uncomfortable. The hosts were great & easy to communicate with. The local businesses & eateries were close by. Already thinking about planning our next trip to RI retreat with more family members!
