We arrived on Wednesday, August 16 for a 6 night stay. The rental is very nice, cozy and clean, with a great view of the valley, giant boulders, and Mary's Lake. It more than met our expectations. We noticed that many packages of roof shingles had already been placed on top of the roof when we moved in, so it was clear that the roof was soon to be replaced. But we were astonished to be notified on Sunday morning by SkyRun (the vacation rental company) that it had just learned that the Mary's Lake Condominiums home owners association (HOA) had scheduled the routine roof replacement to begin the next day, to proceed from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday. We protested, as roof replacement is very noisy and messy major construction. Carol from SkyRun was able to find an unrented condo in the complex for us to move into that evening. The new place was an upgrade, larger and nicer than the original, and we appreciate SkyRun for this. But it was a hassle to move over on Sunday night, we had liked the place we had paid for, and we deeply resented the breach of faith of being forced to either endure major construction on our unit or move. We are told that the HOA coordinates with owners but not rental companies about maintenance timing, so a fiasco like this could happen again at Mary's Lake Condominiums.
