"This hotel is honestly one of my favorites I have stayed at in Japan. Yes, the stairs are narrow and there is no front desk, but when booking they do let you know that (and it's in the description) so I had no issues before, during or after my stay. The hotel was roomy, clean, and comfortable for my group of 5 adults. I did need to reach out to staff to let them know I'd be leaving the hotel for a few days and they were quick with their response. The hotel is in a quiet and nice neighborhood...

The only downside is, it does not have an elevator so if you travel with many luggage climbing up 5th floor on stairs could be challenging....
