Entire Rustic House Close to Glacier Park Vacation

  • Essex town is located between East and West Glacier. It is a good location for exploring both sides of the parkThe house is close to main road and train tracks, the trains don't blow the horn because there is no crossing but you can hear them. IF YOU ARE A LIGHT SLEEPER PLEASE DON'T BOOK. The Great Bear Wilderness is right the back side of the house. Stanton lake hike (in the wilderness)is one of my favorites. The trailhead is 5 minute drive from the house. Stanton creek is a nice spot for picnics too.
    Our house has all the amenities completely furnished with linens, towels and dishes. There is a TV and a DVD player with a selection of DVD'S. There is no satellite TV. There are some games and puzzles and a pool table. There are some hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trail maps available and some activities you can do inside and around the park.
    The house features exterior security cameras. The cameras don't look into interior spaces. The cameras record video when activated by motion.
    Walton Ranger station which is an entrance for day hikes and back country trips is 7 minute drive from the house.
    The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances, coffee maker, microwave, dishes and cookware and some seasonings.
    The bedroom has a queen bed.
    The bathroom is fully equipped too, We stock the starting supplies of toilet paper, soap, shampoo, trash liners.
    It used to be a bar in late 1950s.
    Enjoy your stay and also go and explore the park and outdoor activities as river rafting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, boating.
    There are also Red Bus Tours available in the park.

This beautiful cabin was perfect for our visit to Glacier National Park. The location was so convenient especially to the west entrance to the park. Our host was very helpful in giving us timely information and updates about the park before we arrived. We had everything we needed. We also appreciated all the information about hiking trails and activities in the area. We would love to stay here again!

Great location to drive to both East and West Glacier entrances. Has lots of extras there to borrow if needed such as a cooler and bear spray. It is on a busy highway and has train tracks that run right behind the house as others have said in reviews but we hiked so much during the day that we were exhausted at night and they never bothered us or kept us from sleeping. We had no cell signal at the house but the wifi worked great. We would recommend to anyone visiting Glacier National Park and surrounding areas.

Perfect “base camp” for a week at GNP! Quiet, remote area, essential after a full day of park activities. Cabin had everything needed…right down to the washer/dryer. Hosts responded promptly to any comments.

This was a perfect cabin for my husband and myself. It was well stocked with all we needed and the host was responsive to ensure we always had what we needed. The location to West Glacier was great too. If we were to return, I would stay again. We had no issues and even enjoyed a little time at the river across the road.

The location was a great base from which to explore both entrances to Glacier NP. The cabin was unique, very well-equpped and spotlessly clean. We do like a firmer bed.The host was very responsive and provided wifi info so we could reach out before going inside in this area with no cell service. Very thoughtful.

Loved spending our honeymoon near Glacier and enjoyed our stay at the cabin! It had everything we needed, kitchen wares, extra clean towels, lots of throw blankets, games, tv, and even a pool table! The bathroom was fantastic and we loved that there was a washer and dryer on the property. The property was about 20 minutes from west glacier and had great views. We’re looking forward to coming back in the future and would love to stay here again.

Loved the location, yes their are trains and they do provide ear plugs if needed. But I'm so used to trains I slept through them, lol. It was a nice and quiet getaway from the over populated entrance of the park and yet their are even closer sites to see not in the park close to this rental. Which was perfect. And the host is very attentive asking if you need anything or not. Will definitely come back.

The host was fabulous & so were the amenities!We really enjoyed the little cabin, we went snowshoeing with the snowshoes the host left for us, so much fun! We will return to the same place next year!!

Absolutely loved our stay here! This place was so comfortable to us. We traveled from Texas to secluded mountain for a getaway trip and this place was everything we hoped for and more. Would definitely recommend and would book again!

A unique little gem with all the amenities. We found it to be an excellent location for the west side of GNP and also not too far from the east entrance. The host was extremely helpful and very responsive. We will absolutely be back!

We had a wonderful time at this property! The entire cabin was great! The kitchen was fully stocked. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was spacious and the cabin also had a great washer and dryer. The location is close to Glacier Park. It is a perfect get away!

Very clean, comfortable and accommodating. Well stocked with any kitchen items you might need. Host very pleasant and checked in to make sure everything was okay. Convenient location between East and West Glacier if you plan on exploring multiple areas of Glacier National Park.

Beautiful 2 Day Stay

My fiancé and I loved our stay here! It was only 30 min from west glacier and was perfect to come hangout at after a kilt day in the park. It had great amenities!

A truly wonderful little cabin close to Glacier Park. The host was extremely accomodating and ensured that I had everything I needed during my stay. I would highly recommend.

We absolutely enjoyed the mix of rustic and modern during our stay. Much of the House remains apparently as it has been from when it was built yet it has up to date kitchen, bathroom, and laundry appliances. The quiet, isolated area was also very nice. There is a great place to eat not too far from the House - an unexpected pleasure.
