We enjoyed our check in process and the gracious welcome from Leticia. She is a wonderful resource. The home is lovely and in a beautiful location. The pool was too cool to use much. The solar system wasn’t heating it all that well. The house had everything we needed and some really nice touches. Some basic things like shampoo and soap were not there so bring your own. This is a great base to explore the beautiful mountain towns, Poas Volcano, La Paz Waterfall Gardens, El Toledo Coffee Tour and the cute town of Zarcero.

What an excellent property. We had an outstanding stay and enjoyed the house immensely. It has an excellent kitchen. A bonus to us were the spices that so many places don’t have. We are avid cooks and we took advantage of the opportunity to create our own meals. We especially loved having fresh ginger just outside the door. If we had any questions about the house or amenities, the gracious property manager was able to answer. Excellent communication. We would recommend this property and hope to come back soon.

All the reviews are accurate - this is an impressive rental and the experience was completely top notch. From the surroundings to the home set up to the hosting, we enjoyed and appreciated it all. We rented a car which was convenient and easy. We loved exploring the area including recommendations from the hosts. And equally loved just enjoying the home - lounging in the pool, yoga on the terrace, and meals at one of the many seating areas. We also took advantage of a meal from Chef Aaron and massages from Susana, all of which were excellent. Thank you for a great experience!

Wow, this was our second stay at this exceptional property. The villa is quiet and private in a gated community. The home and buildings have mostly beautiful wood furniture and it's simply gorgeous. The entire property is so comfortable and cozy. We didn't venture far from the Villa this year, enjoying the wonderful pool, the beautifully shaded areas, and the comfortable seating outside - for relaxing and dining. The kitchen is well stocked with everything a cook needs. Leticia is a wonderful host and Judd was also available for questions about day trips. We loved being in the Central Valley and walking distance from the cute town of Atenas. This is Costa Rica at its best! Thank you so much for another wonderful week in paradise.

The amenities are amazing! We have stayed in many VRBO's and without a doubt this was the very most beautiful places we have ever stayed. Bring your suitcase, food provisions and a good book and relax around the pool and just BE! This location is a bit remote so be aware if want the beach it is a bit of a drive. Small restaurants in town if want to get out. We did only one night in our 10 day stay and went Iguanas which had amazing food and atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly. Darwin (landscaper) was very friendly and Leticia (property manager) was always available with any of our questions or needs. The private bedrooms were very well appointed and the kitchen was very well stocked with cookware to whip up an incredible meal. We had Aaron (personal chef) prepare a meal for the six of us which was also amazing. I highly recommend the experience. Just ask Leticia for anything!

This beautiful three bedroom home was the perfect place to enjoy a secluded, relaxing family getaway! It was very spacious, and in a quiet gated community. We loved our time here. Peaceful and lovely. The only issue is that we couldn't stay longer. We stayed at another place for a few days and we wish it were as nice as this.If you choose to stay here, stick to the main road 707. If you're on route #3, navigation apps and GPS might try to route you on shorter routes, such as C. El Tanque. Trust me, you don't want to do that. The other roads aren't paved and you can get yourself in quite a quandary.

The property and location was perfect for a week of relaxing with our two adult children. We found that the consistently perfect reviews were accurate and well deserved. Among other options around Atenas and the Pica Flora development, this villa is unique in its privacy and orientation to the tranquil mountains, not the lights and sprawl of the central valley. During our stay, a property issue beyond anyone's control did come up that required workers over a couple days. Both the owners and property manager were sensitive and did their best to minimize the disruption. Simply said, this is a singularly exceptional property in an ideal location for an escape.

We absolutely loved EVERYTHING about our stay at Judd’s and Liz’s home! The house manager, Leticia, greeted us and was so kind and informative about the house and the town of Atenas. She even checked in with us several times to make sure everything was in order. The house and furnishings were top notch! We prepared several meals and found the kitchen well equipped. We loved eating outdoors under the rancho while enjoying the view and the birds. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!

First and foremost, this was my first VRBO experience - and I’m so happy we chose this property with such kind and attentive owners who have picked an incredible property manager. The place is stunning, the beds are comfortable (a key factor for us), and the home is stocked with everything you need. Extra points for the welcome to the home to show us around as well as a call from one of the owners. We appreciated the warmness from everyone. Everything was clean and above expectations. Lovely stay. All the reviews are accurate and not much more we can add. Truly the place is a private paradise - the outdoor shower and wildlife and the cloud forest just beyond. Those were some of the highlights for us. Easy to contact owners and they had a number of good suggestions of day trips. Highly recommend!

Real Costa Rica local stay

Roads fun , 4 wheel drive not required to get there, but to go most places of adventure would want high clearance or 4 WD , though locals don't. Mountain views stunning weather most days beautiful til 4 or 5 then rain. Pool great , common area phenomenal. All necessary things supplied , very safe , saw parrots and Capuchin monkeys big troupe, iguanas. And you will see lots of types of insects. Mostly outdoors, mosquitoes no issue but we kept spray handy and on. The pictures are real, the town 5 kilometers away but Costa Rica drive times 2 min a kilometer. Lol. Roads paved but two tight lanes and one bridge lane ,shared with pedestrians. Atenas and area jaw dropping and close ,70 to 90 min to beaches really only 35 miles but roads slow. Food great, water all good. Will do again . Perfect for 4 to 6 people.

Magical Place - Just as stunning as the pictures!

Our first trip to Costa Rica, and definitely will not be our last! We're hooked! The house was a joy to stay at, and truly made us feel like we were on vacation. Perfect in every way. It was hard to leave! Where we live in the US, it's impossible to exist without air conditioning, so experiencing this home and the weather in Costa was fantastic. The central location in Atenas really was perfect to experience so many different things. I think I took a picture of every plant possible on the property. We didn't lack for anything while cooking. Sat outside dining al fresco. I was in the pool every moment possible, up until we left. We're 'dog' people, so even getting a little visit from the neighbor's pups was a treat :) Lastly, the information provided by the owners about where to go, what to do, day trips was outstanding!!! Definitely pay attention to their wisdom and recommendations. I can't wait to get back and do more! ...my only input is to follow the links for visits to any of the volcanos, you can't just 'walk in'...you need to pre-purchase entrance tickets and follow the instructions...AND make sure the volcano you want to see is OPEN - Poas was closed due to volcanic activity :( , but that just gives me one more reason to return! I will stay at this perfect home again and again!

Magical Oasis

Stunningly beautiful house and view, safely tucked away in a private gated sanctuary. Set on the edge of a steep ridge line overlooking a valley, that is home to monkeys, birds, iguanas, giant moths and butterflies living in harmony with neighbouring farms set on the impressive slopes around us. All this a short 5 minute drive to town. This home is magical.

Beautiful home!

The house is spectacular, beautifully designed and maintained. All the spaces have a wonderful indoor/outdoor feel. There are flowers and birds everywhere, and there is a very good view of a huge valley and mountain ridge where birds soar and cattle roam in the distance. Highly recommend!

Paradise in Costa Rica!

10 Pica Flora is the best property we have ever rented through VRBO. The home is absolutely stunning and beautifully furnished in a simple way. It has a warm and peaceful feel. The outdoor spaces connecting the three buildings are spectacular. We spent a lot of time just enjoying the grounds and the beautiful breezes. And the pool is lovely and very clean. The kitchen is so well stocked with quality cookware and dishes. The beds are so comfortable and the private baths were a luxury. We felt 100% safe at the home and in the town of Atenas. The view from house was just beautiful. We loved having the hills in our backyard and hearing the cows and sheep. Judd's website gives recommendations on wonderful local day trips, we took many of them. Pura Vida is our new motto! We ventured to the Pacific on two of our 7 days, and otherwise stayed close to Atenas and had no regrets. A perfect get-a-way during a New England winter!Judd and Leticia were so responsive to our questions. We enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Aaron, highly recommend.

Beautiful Home

The property, its upkeep and condition are as good as it gets for VRBOs. We’ve stayed at many over the years and this was definitely the most stylish. Most of the places we wanted to visit we’re farther away than we expected, at least an hour drive, but otherwise everything was great.

Property location was excellent with beautiful views and access to the airport and groceries etc . It is very safe and the owners and manager have been communicative and helpful with any thing we needed. Highly recommend
