The house offers a lovely view, but cleanliness and maintenance problems make the stay disappointing. The company promises Turnover Specialist after every single stay inspection and clearly was not inspected Cleanliness problems:Floors and Patios were dirty enough to turn our feet black.Living room furniture was stained, with sand and food in the cushions.Sand/dirt was in all the sliders tracks, closets, bathroom shower doors. Shower tubs had black stains in them.Safety Issues:One umbrella stand was so rusty it snapped and fell; the second fell over because the base was loose. Fortunately, no one was hurt.Exterior stair surfaces are peeling and breaking, creating tripping hazards.We kept the team posted of all the issues including pictures. The home is run down and not worth the rental value.The company has a pattern of similar if not worst complaints. The company is rated "F" with the BBB and is no good in other reviews. Regret not researching beforehand. We asked them for consideration for the inconveniences, instead the offered 10% off a future stay which was not adequate for this stay. We will not use this company again and do not recommend this business. VRBO should enforce higher standards for listed rentals.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful beachfront home! The house is spacious, well-appointed, and perfect for a large group- there is more than enough room for everyone to spread out comfortably if we had a large group. The views are absolutely stunning, and being right on the beach made the whole experience even more special.Unfortunately, we did experience a storm during our stay, but the host was incredibly accommodating and responsive to any issues that came up because of it. Their communication and willingness to help made a big difference and ensured we could still enjoy our time.Overall, it’s a gorgeous property with amazing views and a thoughtful host. We would definitely stay here again!

Fabulous surf house

Beautiful house with spectacular views of Beacons beach. Sadly, the stairs to the beach are under repair so there is no immediate beach/ surf action . However the house is perfect- with views and amenities to enjoy sunrise to sunset. Plenty of room for several couples or a large family . The town is quaint and friendly- lots of cute shops and restaurants to walk to ! Feel like a local !!

Amazing beachfront house for Encinitas adventure

This house was great for our Spring Break trip to Encinitas with several families. We love this community, it’s laid back vibe and cute restaurants. A short drive to San Diego or Legoland. Being right on the beach gave us amazing sunsets and views of dolphins from the deck and living room. The check in and check our processes were the easiest I’ve ever experienced with a rental. We weren’t required to spend our final morning cleaning and it allowed our group of families a relaxing end to a wonderful week. Given the location and size I imagine this place is booked solid, which makes the few downsides understandable, if unfortunate. The gas fireplace didn’t function. The hot tub on the roof was murky and needs better maintenance. We had a little drizzle during the week and water dripped in from a few air vents. I always got a super quick response from the management company and they sent folks out, but some of that stuff needs actual repair that wasn’t possible during our stay. Would definitely recommend this property and this management company.

A perfect family Thanksgiving

A week of family, feasting, beaching and amazing sunsets.Three generations finally able to be together after almost 3 years of canceled gatherings. The house and the companion property downstairs provided a great set-up for kids and adults.

DO NOT STAY HERE

This is advertised to have AC. Of the five bedrooms, none have any effective AC whether it was 75 or 85 outside. We booked here specifically because the represented AC on site. Additionally, there were ants discovered in the living room, bedrooms and even in the bedding. This place is unacceptable and uninhabitable. The heat during the day and the ant issue make the home unenjoyable. Not even close to what we expected and paid for. Traveling with children needing a reprieve from the beach heat - this is not the place. The customer service of this company is absolutely awful. Vacation ruined thanks to this place and beachfront only.

Great Weekend Getaway

We had a great time at this property. The location is amazing with lots of great restaurants within walking distance and an amazing view of the ocean. It's awesome to watch the surfers in the morning, and we even saw dolphins. The property management was responsive whenever we reached out.

Spring Break

We really didn't want to leave. They say in real estate that it comes down to 3 things...location, location, and location. This property has that in spades. You can forgive a lot when you can sleep to the sounds of the ocean, watch sea life at play during sun up, enjoy the prolific beauty of a Pacific Ocean sunset and lose yourself in a casual stroll down the beach for miles as you contemplate the meaning of it all. From this house I took my family to see the pleasures of San Diego, my kids kayaked in La Jolla, we embraced the beauty of the ocean at Coronado and Moonlight Beach, we hosted amazing family dinners, my son and I took the women we love on dates to remember and I walked with my wife and her parents along the beach - and in the joy of the moment - I was able to thank them again for giving me permission to marry their daughter 22 years ago. And with all that - we watched the sunset each night with the locals and stargazed in the evening on a great rooftop patio. The landlord was easy to work with. There were a few small hiccups but they responded quickly and remediated them. The hot tub is really built only for two. But four can fit (and with cocktails). If I were living there permanently there is a list of changes I would make, but we survived a week just fine. The fireplace was out of service but we really didn't need it. The dishwasher was possessed and they tried to fix it - we managed. Fuses were a thing - they fixed it right away. The landlord was always a quick text away and very responsive. The garage was great, but our Chevy Suburban didn't fit. We parked on the street with no trouble in front of the garage. There is aging to the property from being on the oceanfront as there is in a lot of similar properties around the world. Again, it was hard to beat 3 floors 500 ft from the ocean. The master shower open to the ocean was a treat we'll never forget. There was a lot of warnings about noise ordinances. We were a family with friends and not a crazy crowd. We found the locals very welcoming, neighborly and a joy to be with. Great trip!

The property was beautiful. Property management company was slow on resolving issues. In the description of the place, there’s a gas fireplace in the living room. It was not working. We requested help. By the third day we were told there were parts on order. The thermostat was messed up. We would set the heat to 72, but it would not stay at that temperature. In the mornings it would drop down to 61 or 62 inside. They said it was on a timer, and we needed to reset it every four hours. On the last day when they came in to “fix” it, the temperature in the house still dropped down to 61 over night. There were minor issues with the house..,broken window seal and water coming in along the track in the living room. Broken blinds above the sink. Water dispenser in refrigerator only worked 50% of the time.

Family vacation in 2022

We made family memories and this property met all our needs. It was clean, comfortable, well stocked, great location being next to the beach access and walking distance to many shops and restaurants. There were several options for the family to be together or to spread out in different areas. Superb views of the ocean! The decks and rooftop areas were our favorites. The glass doors opened to the outdoors and gave us the feel of one big space to enjoy! The management was responsive and helpful. We highly recommend this space and would consider another visit!

Fantastic location, very poor management

Celebrated my husband's 50th, friends/family from all over. Front gate door pad didn't work so the first day people were locked out. Fireplace didn't work, it was December before Christmas, so was a huge bummer. Check out was 10AM sharp Sunday, someone was at the door ready to clean at 9:55AM. Oh and the upstairs bedroom had a ceiling leak that puddled water in the corner of the room. If all you care about is an incredible ocean view and location, this is the place for you.

Great location/views but needs work...

The good: Location is great, the views are incredible and the layout of the home is great for a group. The bad: All of this was brought up to the property management team during our stay and we had communication after. They stopped by to fix some of the items and we asked them to not do the extensive items so we could try to enjoy our stay without people coming in and out. We were given the wrong codes to enter the home via the app and guests had to wait outside until we finally got a text back One bathroom smelled like sewage, so we opened the window and left it open. We stayed away from this bathroom. One bathroom leaked water through the ceiling all over the bedroom below. Property management company sent someone out, they told us it was fixed via text…it was not as it leaked again…we then did not use that bathroom for the rest of the trip since we didn’t want to deal with a wall being opened in our bedroom to fix the pipe. Freezer does not make ice, so property management company had to bring us an ice maker Dishwasher is missing 2 wheels, so it continually falls off track. Kitchen dining table furniture is extremely wobbly and needs to be tightened. Same goes with the blue chairs in the great room. We were told directly that there were coffee filters…there were not We could not operate the fireplace while in the home This could be an amazing rental and we hope that the owners and property management company will put in the time to bring things up to where they should be for the price. The refund we were offered for all of the above problems was, unfortunately, a slap in the face being about 1% of our total.
