Our stay at This Side of Heaven was five stars in all respects. The house was perfect for our family of 12 people in all age ranges. It was spotless and well stocked upon our arrival. The short walk to the beach access was ideal, and the pool was the perfect touch for those times when we wanted a change of pace from the beach. The best part of our stay was the exceptional hospitality and customer service from Glenn. In addition to meeting us upon arrival and showing us around his house, Glenn went out of his way throughout our stay to ensure everything in the house met our expectations and that we had everything we needed to make our annual beach week vacation a memorable one. We will definitely book again!

We had a blast with our eight adults and 6 kids (7,6,5,4,4,2). Convenient one block walk to the beach. Outdoor heated shower to wash off the sand and a heated pool with afternoon shade to let the have a last swim. Owner was a gracious and responsive host. It was perfect!

Was a very clean and comfortable stay for 3 nights as we were attending my nephews wedding. Honestly only used the house for sleeping. Most of the day we were out and about!

Our family just returned from a wonderful week at the beach. Glenn (the host)could not have been more helpful or kind. He greeted us upon arrival, showed us around, and left a wonderful basket of sandwiches and deli salads so our first evening meal was delicious. The house was completely as described in the listing and very clean. The kitchen is large and very well stocked with dishes, glassware, pots, pans, etc. Our group ranged in ages from 5 years to 77 years and all seemed to enjoy. The air hockey table was especially popular while at the house. The pool was peaceful, quiet and private. Access to the beach is a short walk and the beach was never crowded. We enjoyed the aquarium, Fort Macon and Shackleford Island, each just a short drive from the house. Thank you Glenn and Ennette!!!

Our family of 6 adults and 6 children ages 6 months to 14 years thoroughly enjoyed this lovely house with pool and the most gracious hosts. The house was beautifully decorated, comfortable and kitchen well equipped with 2nd frig on 1st floor. The hosts provided lots of information and were so easily accessible and responsive. From the large 2nd floor porch we could see the water from the rockers and there was a short walk to the beach. The pool was a total hit for the children and adults for day and evening swims. Pool and air hockey tables also were hits. A large dining table was big enough for all to eat together and spend evenings playing games. All in all this home provided lots of opportunities and enjoyment. Thanks, The Baums

This house and its owner Glenn were amazing! We were a party of 14 and this house suited us perfectly! Beautiful inside and out. It has a lovely pool, 2 grills, 2 refrigerators and a large washer and dryer. The kitchen has everything you need- we cooked most nights. Ample seating for 14. The kids loved the pool table and air hockey. Short, easy walk to the beach. Glenn was available to quickly assist us with any questions/needs. We loved relaxing on the large porch, especially on July 4th where we were able to see all fireworks that people were setting off on the beach. He is a wonderful host! I would highly recommend this property and hope to return soon!!!

Everything about our vacation at this property was wonderful. Home is exactly as pictured if not better! So clean! Pool and the pool area was so nice. Well-equipped kitchen, plenty of dishes and cooking supplies….2nd fridge is a life-saver at the beach! Comfortable beds, plenty of linens and the game room was a hit! Plenty of space for our family of 7 adults-we were so comfortable here. Glenn is such a kind and thoughtful host! He responded promptly to any questions, met us upon arrival to show us the property. There were deli sandwiches and all the fixings in the fridge to help ease that initial grocery run! Easy walk to the beach (which is quiet and not crowded!) sunsets on the sound were gorgeous. First time at Emerald Isle, we will be back!

We had an amazing time here. The house was just as pictured and advertised. It is beautiful and the amenities are first class. Glenn could not be nicer or more helpful. He Consistently was there to address all our needs and make sure we were happy. We loved staying here. It's a very short walk to the beach and the views are lovely. Also has a beautiful large swimming pool. Thanks Glenn!

Our family had a wonderful time at the Thomas home.. Met us on arrival to do a walk through and explain everything. Even had deli sandwiches and cold deli salads waiting for us. House and property was immaculate upon arrival. Lots of amenities including pool table, air hockey, and nice sized private heated pool. Kitchen was beautiful with everything you need even down to spices. Very quiet neighborhood with lots of privacy to reconnect with family. Beautiful beach that had natural feel that you only get in NC. Saw dolphins, shark, and sting ray thanks to a neighboring surf fisherman. Shelling was great with whole Conch shells washed up onshore. Host was so inviting, and around when needed, but not intrusive at all. Hope to return to This Side of Heaven again.

Glenn is an amazing host - he is on site and accessible via text / phone call to answer any questions. The house is perfectly situated between the Emerald Isle and Indian Beach amenities / restaurants / entertainment in a quiet area of the beach. Beach access is easy. The pool is in the shade in the afternoon and evening which makes is a great option after hitting the beach in the morning. Layout is perfect for multiple families. We loved it!

We had a wonderful time staying here. The house was super clean and in excellent condition. The blankets were fresh and clean and the paint on the walls was so perfect, it was the opposite of a beaten-up beach house - very lovely and inviting. :) The huge dining room table was enough seating for our huge party and we the pool was very clean and fun for the kids. :) There were plenty of beds and bathrooms and the pool table and air hockey table were fun for the kids. :) We had a wonderful time. :) It was a quick walk to the beach and we had fun looking for crabs at night time. :) Very close to lots of restaurants and things to do. :) This house was wonderful. We'd definitely stay there again :)

It was a great house in a great location! It was new and clean and had everything we could have needed for a great week with three big families! The pool was wonderful and a perfect place to relax. There was both shade and sun on the patio! The walk to the beach was not too far to be an issue. We plan to return for sure!

The house was the newest, cleanest and best stocked house we have ever stayed in! The kids loved the pool, the beds were comfortable, the pool table was a big plus for the teen grandchildren. Glenn had sandwiches, salads and cookies in the refrigerator for us when we got there. The kids were expecting pizza, so we saved it all and took it to the beach for lunch the next day. That was a great way to start our celebration! Glenn was quick to respond when I had questions, prior to our arrival. You will love this place!

We enjoyed our stay at this very lovely and clean home. Kitchen and dining room was very pretty and well equipped. The pool was well maintained. Rocking chairs were on the porch for reading a book or just relaxing. Definitely a wonderful place for your vacation.

We stayed at this property for one week during August for a family vacation. Glenn (owner of property) reached out immediately after booking to make himself available to answer any questions and provided some great recommendations of things to do on the island. As the day of our arrival approached, he coordinated arrival so he could give a brief tour of the property and make sure we knew where everything g was. I had a kiddos get motion sickness on the car ride down, but Glenn was flexible and met with another member of my party. We had only one issue with the unit while we were there. One day we noticed no hot water. I texted Glenn and within 5 minutes, he was there, he realized a circuit breaker had flipped and he had it fixed. The property itself is beautiful. The pool is great for all ages, Glenn provided a couple rafts too. The bedroom and bathroom layouts allow for privacy and accessibility. The kitchen is large with lots of seating and counter top space. The family areas had lots of comfortable seating and the deck was great for lounging. It is a close walk to the beach and because the house is located on one of the narrowest parts of the island (only two block width), there is plenty of empty space on the beach. Overall, this house, the owner, and the location were a terrific find. Oh, and I almost forgot, in the first night you arrive, Glenn provides subs so that you don’t have to worry about cooking or finding a place for take out. Honestly it was a life saver after a long drive with a motion sick child!

Thank you so much for a wonderful week! The host and house were amazing! Glenn went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect! We weren’t sure about being on the same property with the owner, but after being there we never once felt our privacy was interrupted. We enjoyed meeting Glenn and he was helpful and quick to respond to any and all questions we may have had. The house was very clean and stocked with anything we needed! The game room was a hit with the kids too. The pool was a perfect size and was shaded in the early afternoon which made coming back in from the beach even better. The walk to the beach was very easy, as the beach access is just at the end of the street one house over. We cannot say enough about how great our week was staying here! Thank you Glenn!
