We love Wilderness Wind so much! Summer is simply not complete without at least one visit here. The cabins are adorable, the company is wonderful and of course the scenery. My husband and stepson love the fishing of course, and I just enjoy reading my book listening to the wind in the trees. I heartily recommend to anyone!

Got Away

….and that’s exactly what we did! Our stay was better than hoped in celebrating my birthday. My fiance took me to a place he described as majestic and that it is. We could have stayed in town but the true experience of Ely was here. The sunrise and sunset out our window was magnificent! Living of the needs in life made it that more memorable. We will definitely be heading North again!

Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed the Bear Cabin! A few windows don’t open which was a bummer but we brought extra fans from home as the cabin doesn’t have A/C and it was about 90 degrees. We enjoyed all the amenities, bathrooms are clean and very close! The commons area is great for any items you may have forgotten! We will definitely go back!

Communication about the property expectations was more modern than the very rustic cabin and bathhouse. The old fashioned outhouse was not what I expected. The lack of technology was fine. For over two hundred a night I expected clean sheets and a little more fit and finish. The advertising is outstanding and I really support the cause but was disappointed when the cabin was over 85 degrees and only two or three windows opened

Cozy cabin stay

Felt very welcome and at home right away. Jay was awesome. Lots of inside info. And so cool that the resort helps support the Chicago Voyaguers. Loved being so close to the lake with the evening sun and Jay even set a fire for us by the lake to roast s’mores. Such a wonderful overall up north experience. Even went for a brief swim. Learned a lot about the fish in the lake as well and local fishing lakes.

Rustic Gem

As described- rustic cabin with a shared bathroom/ shower house. Nothing fancy but all we needed for a nice long weekend away. Beautiful lake and close access to the town of Ely. The host, Jay was so kind and went above and beyond to make our stay even better. We’ll be back!

Perfect spot to relax and unwind!

I spent three relaxing nights here and it was truly the perfect spot. The cabin was adorable, the lake was beautiful, and the camp host was delightful and so helpful. It was fun to chat with the other campers and also enjoy some quiet reading time. Highly recommend.

Off the grid

It was just the balance of “off the grid” getaway, scenic beauty and local flavor we were looking for in a short getaway to northern Minnesota. The host/manager made sure we had anything we needed and the wild call of the loons on the lake at 3:00 am made the trip perfect.

Great Getaway

We really enjoyed our time at Wilderness Winds! Jay was really helpful! We had a great evening paddle on the lake before the rain started. Gazebo was a great place for playing games out of the rain. We’ll be back!

Great stay!

Before we even got to property I was impressed by the customer service. Jay was so friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. The property was beautiful with boats and different things to use and everyone was so friendly. Our cabin was quaint and had everything we needed. Great stay!
