Beautiful home on the river

Everything about this home is perfect. Stocked with everything you need and more. Beds are comfortable and the layout is great for large groups. The host even provides tubes so you can tie up and float in the river. Peaceful environment yet it’s only 7 minutes to downtown and grocery stores. The perfect location!

Great Vacation Cabin

We stayed at the Cartecay River House recently and were happy with the property. It was spacious and we were very happy with how clean the property was. It had a great deck to relax and enjoy the view of the river. We would definitely rent this property again!

Great house!

Very, very nice house located right on the river. Perfect place for families and adult groups. Owner was very responsive and made the entire process very easily. This house is an absolute win!

Great vacation at the Cartecay River House

Everything from booking to checkout was seamless and problem-free. Great location steps away from the Cartecay River, and plenty of room for our family of 9 adults and 3 children. The host is available with a phone call and was very pleasant and helpful.

Wonderful Family Getaway

This is our 3rd year staying in the home and it was still just as nice as the first time. Kathy is always kind and very responsive. The home is prefect for our 10 people. Kitchen is stocked well for all of our cooking needs.

Best cabin stay so far

Amazing experience! Absolutely beautiful cabin with the best beds we have ever slept on in a rental. Location super close to shopping area and within 8 minutes we were at the grocery store. Fully equipped with everything you need including outdoor games. Backyard was amazing and being on the river was a great experience. Would recommend to everyone and we plan on booking again during the summertime to enjoy the river and backyard more.

Relaxing Getaway

We really enjoyed the relaxation. Being on the river & relaxing in the hot tub was perfect. My husband and I enjoyed the long weekend my our three children & both sets of parents. Cabin was stocked with EVERYTHING you need. Just pack clothes food & enjoy. Thank you, The Whites, Paynes & Roudebushs

We love this river house

This is our third stay and we will be back again! All the bedrooms are very comfortable and the amenities are plentiful. You can’t beat this spot on the river. Our children have a blast tubing and swimming. The adults love winding down the day in the hot tub. The owner is very nice and responsive to whatever we need. This one is a gem for sure!

Floated the river, rinsed off and hit the hot tub everyday. We don’t usually do the same property twice, but we might have to hit this one again! Awesome and communicative owners with great suggestions for activities in Ellijay. Lovely people.

Annual apple festival

Have rented this house for the past 16 years on this date. House is more expensive then surrounding houses. May look into other houses on the same street due to the price next year, but would come back.

The Cartecay River House is a dream come true!

Nine of us stayed in the Cartecay River House for 6 nights. The cabin was a perfect mix of rustic and modern and had enough space and rooms for all of us to have privacy. The cabin was clean, the beds were so comfortable, and the covered porch was perfect for us to to gather together for dinner and to relax. The river is just steps away, we caught fish from the shore and relaxed on the swing. We enjoyed campfires around the fire pit as well. We enjoyed the game room on the ground floor also. We drove a few minutes up the road to the Cartecay Tract WMA canoe launch (located at mile 5 of the Cartecay River Water Trail. It is accessed by Canoe Road off Hwy 52E) and put our tubes in the river. We then floated for about an hour right back to the cabin! It was easy to access several nice hiking trails as well. This cabin was a perfect fit for our large group that included adults, kids and our dogs.

Refreshing: Clean, Comfy, and EASY River Access!

Our family has stayed in multiple rentals in over 10 trips to the North GA mountains. Tubing and chillin' on the Cartecay River is the draw for us, and the thoughtful, safe river access of this home (steps with railings) are the best we've experienced. Young children and grandparents alike are OK entering the river here where the river bottom is smooth and easy to navigate.We were struck at how clean this home was--starting with the decks and outdoor furniture and hot tub. (And they change the hot tub water after each rental, wow!)Four king beds were sturdy with amazing mattresses. Great for deep sleep after a day at the river. The appliances (refrigerator, washer and dryer, oven) seem new and everything works! Kathy, the local property manager, was very kind and responsive to our (few) questions. We hope to make this our Ellijay hone for summers to come!
