We loved this property. The inside was spacious and had a pool table. Outside, we enjoyed the hot tub, river, and fire pit. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Getaway

This place was a beautiful getaway for my wife and myself. Great views of the river out the back windows and off the back deck. The fire pit was great for sitting around at night and just enjoying the outdoors. We had deer visit daily, and even had them come within about 10-15 feet while we were sitting outside. We would 100% stay here again.

Mountain Cabin on the River

Beautiful Cabin with all the essentials. Jacuzzi, Fire Pit, BBQ, Two large Decks overlooking the river, Pool Table and many games. A lot of Deers and Squirrel's. Very Peaceful.

Comfy Cabin on the River

Directions to the property were precise and very necessary! The gate attendant asked for a "reservation number" which we did not have, but figured it out based on our name and property number, which had been supplies. The cabin was an older home but well-maintained and the layout of bedrooms and kitchen were perfect. Neighboring homes were quite close but still enjoyed being right on the river.Kitchen pots and pans were very worn and knives were really dull. Since we stayed in and cooked a lot, that was annoying. I should have remembered my knife sharpener! Otherwise a very pleasant stay! Loved the outdoor decks and porches!

Apple Festival Stay

The stay was very good. However , we received one small bar of soap for two people for 5 days. The soap was gone on day three. It would have been nice to have a chair or luggage rack in the bedrooms. One bedroom had several roaches. Overall , We enjoyed our stay and the property. It was close to Ellijay and other attractions..

Unlucky Weather

We weren't able to enjoy the property/river like we had hoped due to hurricane Helene coming through. It was nice having a pool table and dart board so we had something to do while it rained. And we were still able to visit a few wineries. I would like to stay here again and hopefully have better weather.

Friendcation

This was our yearly “friends” cation! It was the perfect stay for the 4 of us! Beautiful riverside cabin that had everything you need to make your time there wonderful! I loved sitting in the top deck looking at the river every morning! And of course the pool table and hot tub are awesome touches to the cabin. Check in was stress free and check out the same

Fun long weekend.!

Very cool wooden cabin that gives you that log cabin feel .Beautiful river views from most rooms and from the balconies. Nice pool table , darts and games.Very convenient to grocery stores, hiking and downtown activities. We enjoyed playing fetch with the dogs in the river , a little too chilly for though !! Maybe we will come back and float in the river later this summer!

Wonderful, Quiet Location

The cabin was just as expected, and, as mentioned before, the driveway was very steep. The driveway is angled in the opposite direction of the way you come in, but there are other ways to get in and out and other places to turn around. The river was wonderful and calming. The hot tub was a huge bonus. We also utilized the recreation center with an indoor pool, tennis, basketball, and pickleball courts. There were some cobwebs because of very high ceilings but it was otherwise clean. The owner was prompt in responding to inquiries. It was a great vacation for us, and we would happily return.

So peaceful and so many deer

We highly enjoyed our stay. There were so many deer in the neighborhood. The water was easy to get to since it has flat ground in the back yard. Place was very clean. Driveway was not my favorite but every cabin we have ever stayed at I haven’t been fond of lol. Overall. Great stay !

AMAZING

I took my wife here for her birthday. Totally amazing!! We had hotdogs and s’mores at the fire pit. There were deer everywhere and geese on the river. We will definitely go back.

Needs lots of Updates and more thorough Cleanings

We will not rent this place again and do not recommend it to anyone until the owner gets does more to make this place what it could be. We arrived and the place apeared to be clean, but it was not. There were cobwebs and dust and dirt on floors and counters etc. The kitchen had worn out pots and pans that must have been 15 years old. The non-stick was completely scratched and the pans were warped so badly they would not sit flat on the stove. Since we enjoy cooking and ate most our meals at the cabin this was annoying and a turn off. The cleaning service sucks. They barely did their job prior to our arrival. The appliances were also very dated. not an issue because they did work properly. The gas grill worked great but was so dirty when i first used it that the grease in the grease catch pan under the burners caught fire and flames were coming out the back of the grill and almost scorched the wood railing on the decking. I moved the grill away from the railing and remove the aluminum drip pan and replaced it with aluminum foil. Decking was clean but the patio chairs were broken and two of them were so broken we could not use out of concerns they would crash while sitting in them. The view was amazing of course and the river was nice and close to the house. Tv's stopped working about mid week but not an issue for us. I could add a lot more to this list. Bottom line, the owner needs to pump some money into the place to continue to ask for current rates. Overpriced.

Amazing cabin right on the river

This quaint cabin is tucked away in the north Georgia mountains, right on the Coosawattee River. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, which was well equipped for a relaxing weekend. The highlights of the amenities included an outdoor private hot tub, two levels of decks overlooking the river, and a firepit right on the shoreline. We highly recommend this cabin for a relaxing weekend getaway.

Amazing long weekend get away!

My husband and I enjoyed our long weekend get away at Deer River Retreat. The cabin's location on the river was the perfect spot for us to escape and unwind and the cabin was furnished with everything we needed so we could just stay there and enjoy each other and the beautiful, tranquil setting of cabin. We were hoping for some snow but mother nature had other plans...haha. Thank you again for sharing your cabin with us. We definitely hope to visit again!

Wonderful place on the River

We went with another couple and found the property to be as good as advertised. There does need to be clear instructions in to how to operate the gas logs and and TVs so you can watch regular cable. Another easy chair in the living room would be nice. In cold months bring extra blankets. The driveway is steep and I used my 4 wheel drive at the top a couple of times. We saw deer and geese swimming the river. We enjoyed a fire in the firepit a couple of nights. Overall a great place to stay.

Beautiful and relaxing

Upon entry of the gate our first thoughts were OMG! We were not aware of the narrow/steep roadways (paved and gravel). The driveway is very steep from the street down to the house. But we made a game out of it coming and going each time lol. The house itself is beautiful! The bedrooms were very large. The master bath room is very large. Both bedrooms have nice size walk in closets. The kitchen had all the dishes, pots, pans, glasses and silverware. Also 2 coffee makers, although we only used the Kurig. With the river right out back we enjoyed the geese flying thru in the mornings. There are many deer of all sizes through out the area and the yard :-) We really enjoyed our stay! Family, kid and pet friendly! Our dog slept the whole way home …..LOL Our only issue was a smoke detector battery died and it beeped and beeped. We contacted the property manager and she responded quickly and a tech was out to replace it within an hour or so. Great communication!

Property was beautiful and quiet

We really loved our stay here, got away from everything and even our children were peaceful. There are houses close by, but it was still felt very secluded. The river is gorgeous, the hot tub was a favorite. There is SO MUCH wildlife! Deer and geese every day!
