We loved this pet friendly cabin! Proximity to the water for fishing was absolutely perfect (steps off the back porch) and the view from the cabin is beautiful! Very peaceful location. Hot tub was a great additional feature, with the same great view of the water. Ample firewood provided for the wood burning stove for our weekend stay. Absolute only downside of this location would be that you are not able to have an outdoor fire.

CHEAT RIVER LODGE Review!

My family loves to go on cabin adventures two or three times a year, but last year and so far this year it has been tough due to my wife’s health issues. She recovered enough for me to surprise her with a trip to Cheat River Lodge. Everything about our experience was fantastic! There was a little misunderstanding about towels (you must bring your own; not a problem but not advertised as such in the ad for the property on Vrbo, BUT the owner’s website does make it clear that renters need to bring their own towels) as well as how to check-in (the email with that information went into my “junk” folder). But the owners of the property are GREAT!!! Wonderful communication, very friendly and professional, and most of all, patient. The property is exactly as described, but the pictures do not do it justice. It is beautiful. Very, very relaxing and comfortable. All 3 of us had such a wonderful time relaxing in the cabin…we did not want to leave! The hot tub was clean and the perfect temperature (my wife and daughter love hot tubs and they both agree that this was the best at a cabin that they have ever experienced). The cabin was very clean and was exactly what we all needed! My wife was so thankful for the time we spent here, and I cannot thank the owners (Roxey) enough for being patient with me. If things go well with my wife’s treatment, we hope to come back this fall or maybe even this winter again! Elkins is not far away! I want to say more, but cant!

Nice cabin. Great location.

Cold . Rain. Muddy. Cabin warm. Clean. No towels for showers. One kitchen towel. Well water had a bad odor. I guess that’s to be expected . Overall a good place to stay if I go back to the area.

Wonderful Cabin

Had a Great Time - Loved It!

Property was very clean. A couple of comments, not problems. 1) It would help to have the wifi logon and password posted or given to the renter. 2) A channel listing for the TV would help. Also, shielded cables for the cable, tv, and router would help. There was interference with the tv signal when we talked on our cell phones, the bathroom heater kicked on,and when we made coffee.

Anniversary get away

Nice quiet cabin. River is closer than the pictures make it seem. Nice big porch. Dog friendly with a nice dog bed. Appliances are clean and look newer. Linens were nice. I would recommend bringing your own towels and a couple throw blankets. Towels were the only thing not provided and the leather couch could be a little chilly. Town was nice and has everything needed. Overall a great experience.

Anniversary Trip

The property was great! The only thing that we didn't like was the strong iron smell and taste in the water and that the Wi-Fi password didn't work. I could not get a hold of anyone in the office when I tried to call about the password.

Fantastic cabin

This cabin was a great fit for us., it was very clean. The Wi-Fi was not any good but we didn’t go to the mountains to sit on a computer the whole time. The TV was very good. Take your own water because the water does smell and doesn’t taste very good. But to me these were little things not a deal breaker. The water was a little low when we stayed, so our fishing didn’t go so great. However in our key envelope were direction for other things to do. Which was fantastic. The people were really nice that came to check on the hot tub. The best part about it was we did not have to find someone to watch our dog, she got to go have fun too. Thanks great stay and we intent to go back.

4 but not 5 stars

We had a great time and plan on going back again all though we will check to make sure the hot tub is in working order. We had a problem with ours while we were there and having the hot tub was a big reason why we had choosen the vacation spot that we did. The maintenance man that they had tried his best to fix the problems that we had but they did not have the parts on hand to do so. Like I said we loved the place and are still planning on going again.
