This was a lovely experience. Mattresses super comfortable and well decorated room. Nice new bathroom with great toiletries. Easy access in and out. Great area to visit!

Great hotel by the water. It was a very clean and modern hotel on the water. It was in walking distance to the main stores and restaurants in town. Staff was very helpful in responding to our texts. Easy check in and a bonus, it has a lovely cocktail bar on ground floor with outdoor seating.

Loved the modern minimalist decor. The room was very clean. Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Our view of the water was great. The one night we spent as we were passing through on our vacation felt like a special retreat. We loved walking to nearby shops and restaurants which were so close by! Awesome hotel we highly recommend and would love to return to!

We enjoyed our stay at The Dexter. Great location! Room was comfortable and clean. Hotel staff responded to 2 minor issues very quickly. Enjoyed the bar and café! Would go back again.

I honestly have never left a review in 20 years of traveling. Good or bad. This was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. My wife and I booked a standard room on a whim and were more satisfied than some suites we've spent hundreds on for a weekend. The cocktail lounge is small but intimate and you won't get a bad drink. This place exceeded all expectations. Props to the hotel management and staff. Incredible gem you guys have created

Really nice stay. Perfect Location for walking everywhere. Room was very clean. Comfortable bed. Flat pillows (luckily I brought my own) Husband said they were fine. Would probably stay again depending on cost. Would not spend peak prices. Bar and restaurant service was excellent

The staff is very nice and helpful-they were fun to interact with when coming and going. The rooms are modern and very clean- so nice! The location is walkable to everything in Elk Rapids and parking was a breeze. I love the coded locks so I don’t have to worry about a key or losing a key card, which is extra nice when you are doing water activities in the area. We really enjoyed our stay and Elk Rapids is a gem!

The room was be dry nice and also very clean. I loved the bath tub. It was much bigger than a normal! The coffee in the lobby is very convenient and very good. The location was very convenient. In walking distance to multiple restaurants and multiple different beaches.

The room was great but unfortunately we stayed on a Monday night and there was little available locally for restaurants open. The bar and cafe onsite was also closed.

Far exceeded my expectations. Room was great, especially for the price. Staff was friendly. Check-in and checkout was very quick and easy. I would stay there again and would recommend to all of my friends.

We loved how pet friendly this hotel was. The rooms are recently updated and clean, with white linens. We did not go to the bar/coffee place on the first floor, but it is open and looks like a nice spot to wind up or down for the day!

Awesome location, right in downtown Elk Rapids. Pet friendly and very clean. Rooms are condo-style and spacious. Accommodations are pretty bare-bones, but good for a short weekend. Part of hotel is unfinished. Looking forward to returning when hotel bar is complete!

The connecting door between two rooms has no sound blocking or filtering effect. The guests on the other side of the connecting door were talking after midnight then started packing at 5am. I could hear their electric toothbrush running and all their conversations. Unfortunately I only had less then 5 hours of sleep.

We came here for the first time in July 2024. Just visited again and this property is under new management...the updates to the lounge area, service and hospitality are excellent! We were greeted consistently by staff. The new lounge and patio were our favorite. Make sure to get a drink or coffee and enjoy the view. We had an amazing time and will be back!

The vibe has changed from first year it opened. The lobby is now jewel tones , moody vibe, and smells like a men’s cologne from the 70’s. This hotel is located on the water. We were expecting a light, bright, fresh, and clean vibe… which is that of the individual guest rooms. It’s unfortunate that guests must walk through the “ moody/70’s” vibe in order to access the elevator.

I probably should have read up more before I booked. I never saw an employee the entire time I was there. Did not realize that everything was done online. It was clean. It appeared well maintained but as I mentioned, I should've read more prior to booking.
