Leslie, I'm so sorry to hear about the ants! Our housekeeper mentioned that she saw a couple earlier in August and I called our exterminator and was under the impression it completely handled. I had no idea that you experienced this and would have had the company come back immediately. In this part of Maine, we sometimes get a few towards the end of summer-- which is why I have someone on call to address them asap. Thank you for the high rating- I never want our guests to be uncomfortable and have a team of folks on hand to handle most any concern with the home! Maggie, First of all, thank you so much for staying at our family home this past weekend. We were glad to see that it provided a quiet place to relax and hope you'll join us again in the future. With COVID and keeping the safety of our guests and our own family in mind, we have not been in to the house as much to allow appropriate spacing between guests. We send our top-tier cleaning/sanitizing team and then seal the property so it is ready for the next visitors. Our property continues to be one of the top rentals in the area, so there hasn't been a lot of extra downtime! That said, I'd like to address your concerns. We were aware that prior guests accidentally spilled coffee on the couch and did have enough time between guests this week to bring a steam cleaning vendor in to address that. We were able to get a vendor to repair the jacuzzi last month as it was a top guest request, but to the extent there is an issue with the caulking, I'm unaware and will check in out. Unfortunately, we don't have wallpaper in the house, so cannot reply about issues with wallpaper. We're also excited to have completed construction on our small detached studio, something that many of our return guests had requested for additional space. That may have been the lumber you mentioned seeing. Part of the "Maine" charm is rustic and cozy lodging in one of the most lovely and convenient locations. We are a short walk away from the gorgeous water and a short drive to the Atlantic. Many of our neighbors do keep boats to enjoy this and they are often stored on their properties in the winter. Our beloved getaway was hand-built by our family in the 2000s and we have welcomed more than 300 families to join as guests over the years. We love the way our home gets families and friends together-- and try to sneak in for any minor repairs that are needed as a result of guest use between those visits. Wishing you a wonderful spring! Hi Nicole, Thank you so much for this helpful feedback. We recently changed cleaning companies to try and provide our guests with an exceptionally clean experience— especially in light of COVID. With a high-risk toddler myself, it’s of the utmost importance that our renters feel safe and comfortable when they escape to our home. In several years of hosting, we’ve never had a complaint on cleanliness, so I’ve released the new company and decided to use another trusted local housekeeper who is able to thoroughly clean and sanitize our property. I’m sorry if you felt it wasn’t too top! I hope you’ll consider renting 1010 again and give us another chance. Our guests mean the world to us!! Be Well, Jennifer
