Nice property

Overall the property was great! The front door lock was hard to get the key just right to lock it and the floor needs to be cleaned and there was one drawer in the kitchen that wouldn’t stay closed but that was it. Everything else was great!

Just as advertised!

As the owner of a 15 year old chihuahua, we try to take her with us as much as possible. I am SO THANKFUL for owners such as this one! The place was VERY clean. Even glasses stored in an open cabinet were clean, as was top of fridge. Decor was SO CUTE! Loved the map artwork, the Pigly Wigly art, all of it! The nature/views/property? Outstanding! An inhabited bluebird box right outside the deck, deer that came to visit every night, even a trash panda sighting! 😉. This place is STOCKED! Nice dishes/pots and pans/ all the things you need to cook- please, please, PLEASE-when an owner makes a rental this user friendly- treat it like your own. Take care of the pots and pans, put things away nicely, leave it as you found it. All owners should be incentivized to offer nice places by us renters caring for their investment. My only suggestions? Non-slip tub mats and/or handi-bars for safety. Replace that silly piece of wood in the patio door with a slide bar from Home Depot. More towels- not tons more, but a few more, and maybe new ones. I always suggest this at beach rentals- MORE HOOKS. Everyone needs hooks for bathing suits and towels. Finally- this is not the owners issue, but maybe lobby the property for access to a hose or install outdoor shower. We had no choice but to bring in lots of sand as there was no place to rinse anything before entering. I worry about your plumbing! Edisto is MAGICAL. We will be back and would most DEFINITELY consider this condo again.

The stay was awesome, the golf course view was grand, and the nightly visit of the deer herd was unforgettable. Less than 10 min from beach access and never had a problem parking the entire week. We will stay again

Relaxing

Condo only has bare minimum of necessary items, towels, pots and pans (burnt and scratched). Water pressure is so weak it's almost impossible to shower. The 5 heat pump condensers outside the bedroom window are so loud they make it impossible to sleep through the night. Front door lock is not functional and sliding glass door only locks with a piece of 2X2. The bed is a real antique, needs updated badly.

Place had the essentials but that was about it. THERMOSTAT: If you need it cool to fall asleep this is NOT the place for you. I turned it down to 69 when we arrived Bc it was so warm. I didn’t realize til later that there was a list on the fridge which included rules for the thermostat. Apparently I wasn’t supposed to turn it down Bc it can freeze the unit up. Put it back where it was supposed to be and suffered through. FANS: they recommended you run these but one of them is off balance and makes noise. There are 2. BED: I’m 5’9 and 150 lbs EVERY SINGLE TIME I moved the bed squeaked and sounded like it was going to fall apart. The mattress has major dips and the springs poked me. WALLS: These are paper thin and you can literally hear everything the person above you is doing. FUR BABY: If you are wanting to bring your fur baby you should definitely read more than the main page which says “they’re welcome”. INTERNET: I have an iPhone and it said “weak security” under the WiFi after I logged onto it. PATIO: Door lock is busted. They have a piece of wood in the track to keep it closed. PARKING: Parking seemed to be ok at the other units but this particular unit was back in the corner so spots were tiny, limited and difficult to get a truck in/out of. Also they are not assigned so depending on time you return you could be walking a bit to get to the place. So far the only pro has been the deer that roam around here. They didn’t seem too scared of us and lingered right outside the balcony/patio area.

Quiet getaway

We had never been to Edisto and were looking for beaches without crowds and lots of outdoor time. Initially, I wasn’t thrilled that we we staying in a gated community, but Ocean Ridge is very laid-back and welcoming; not pretentious. The condo was very clean, the kitchen was well-stocked and it was in a great location. We just wished for a queen bed (not used to a full). Biking all over the Island was fun and dinner at Ella & Ollie’s was a treat!
