Lots of character and located in the centre of action. Earplugs are no match for the sirens and 7am tour buses. The flat is well-loved and lived-in but not very cozy. The bedroom is lovely but the other two beds - a single and a pull out chaise longue - are best for children or small people who don't mind discomfort.

In the heart of Edinburgh

We loved the location of the property as it was close to The Royal Mile, restaurants and stores. Sitting in the nook of the kitchen, it is so easy to gaze at what is happening on The Mile and listen to the bagpipes. It is a lovely decorated and spacious flat. We were very comfortable and would highly recommend it for all these reasons and more.

Bumpy beginning but excellent stay!

Be had some problems when we first arrived but the staff was so helpful and immediately took care of everything. The location is exceptional, just steps away from the Royal Mile. One thing to be aware of when renting in this area of the city is that the buildings are very old and there are no elevators. We did not mind the steps and enjoyed our stay immensely.

A few nights away from the mundane First time at Edingburgh xmas market Location was amazing right at the centre of the royal mile Within walking distance of everything edingburgh has to offer Quirky apartment … stairs were a bit of a killer when you’ve walked all day lol , but we can’t say enough how great our stay was here it had everything you need Great short break away

Perfect location

The location was amazing, right near the Royal Mile! Very cozy and inviting. It is on the main street by bars and restaurants so the street noise can be loud, but ear plugs and/or and sound machine helped cancel some of the noise out. Loved our stay and would stay again!!

On the Royal Mile

The apartment was comfortable and spacious. It is actually up 2 flights of stairs. It was a great location as far as accessibility to the most popular sites. Altido was very helpful and very responsive to all my requests. The only issue we had with this apartment was the noise. The windows are old and all the street noise comes through at all hours. Bring ear plugs. I understand that the noise comes with the location, just be prepared.

Great location but flat needs freshening up

Check-in process was not great and we were put into the wrong flat then had to come back later to move into the correct flat which made us late for our show. The flat is quite shabby and needs freshening up and cleaning. The shower drain was blocked which made it very messy and unhygienic in the bathroom. The settee is badly stained and doesn’t look clean.

Great location

Perfect location halfway up the Royal mile, nearly equidistant to Edinburgh Castle And Holyrood. This flat is bright and pretty, but it is old. Old! If you don’t appreciate old buildings don’t stay here. Also, it is totally unsuitable for anyone with even the mildest of mobility issues due to the winding staircase required to access it. I love old buildings and enjoyed staying here very much.

Really great apartment (the photos don't do it justice!)

My first impression at the place was that the pictures don't do it justice. Noise at night is a problem given the location, but they were clear about this up front and provided ear plugs that worked well. Would have been nice to have 2 sets of keys and regular TV channels in addition to Netflix/streaming services, but I'm nitpicking here.

Great central location

This flat is exactly like the pictures. It is cool and funky and in a great location. It is in the city center and street noise can be heard, but there are ear plugs provided and was not a problem for our visit. The two big issues for our visit was the lack of cutlery (only steak knives and serving spoons, no spoons or forks) and the quality of the beds. The bed in the one and only real bedroom was quite small for 2 adults and not very comfortable. The twin bed in the lounge area was awful with springs that could be felt sitting and laying in bed. If those issues would be addressed, this would be a great 5 star flat.
