Everything that we wanted.

Donna and Steve were quick to respond to inquiries as we prepared for a family vacation. The comfortable updated home is perfectly located between the Bay beaches and the Ocean beaches. Shopping for provisions in Orleans or night life in P-Town are easily accessible. The 1/2 acre fenced lot w/outdoor shower and fire pit is comfy and private. The kitchen is well provisioned and even has sharp knives.

This house offers a very welcoming, well-stocked, comfortable, spacious base for your Cape Cod stay! We arrived on a hot and humid day, and immediately appreciated the four A/C units on two floors. We didn't use the basement except to do laundry, yet it would really be a bonus if there's a family with kids for that all-important "second hangout space."Outside, as you'll see in our photos, there is ample room for introverted time (important for our family) and we made use of the large lawn and deck to read and nap. We enjoyed multiple meals at the patio table, and used the grill. It also helped that the weather was perfect and being outside was so pleasant, not really buggy.Since our family loves to cook together, yet rental places can vary from what is promised in the profile, we tend to travel with pantry ingredients, knives and cookware. This time, I did not even unwrap my own knives, and we used many of the Yonchak's utensils, cookware, and spices!On the immediate block, several of us had morning runs or walks most days and the quiet streets definitely lend themselves for exercise routines. For those considering this location, know that there is not much town center in Eastham for tourists; we did not mind since the access to BEACHES (we went to seven) was perfect. For our "town mood" times, we simply drove 10-25 minutes to Orleans and Provincetown.Dana gave prompt responses before, during, and after our stay - it's so appreciated! Thank you.

Amazing Cape Cod family home

We loved this home! The Barking Urchin is quiet, private, spacious, and extremely comfortable. It is convenient to both ocean and bay beaches, and located near good local businesses. The kids loved the yard, the firepit, and the couches that seem to hug you whenever you sit down. Communication with the owners was excellent. I cannot recommend this home enough; when we come back to the Cape, we would happily return here!

Great vacation!

We had a great time staying here. The house was clean and had everything we could’ve needed. Great outdoor space especially for the kids and awesome outdoor shower. Owners were responsive and easily contacted. We will definitely be back!

Awesome House and Perfect Location

We had a great time at the house and in the area. It was a perfect location for our son's weddding. The interior of the house reminded us of a cabin in Gatlinburg. The yard was was beautiful and we enjoyed several nights by the fire pit. We highly recommend this house and will rent it again on our next trip to the Cape.

Awesome Cape Cod Rental

Barking Urchin is in a perfect location and is very comfy and cozy. You will find everything you need there. The outdoor shower is the best we’ve ever experienced! The outdoor space is so relaxing and enjoyable. Dana was great to work with!

Great location and property

Clean, well-cared for property in a great Eastham location. The hosts are highly responsive. Recommend it and would stay again. One thing to note: the 3rd bedroom is a loft, not private and has a skylight. But it has its own bathroom. Bring eye masks if you’re sensitive to morning light.

Wonderful stay in wonderful house!

This was our 2nd year at the Barking Urchin and it felt like coming home. House is cozy and comfortable with everything you could need for summer vacation on the cape. House is easy mile from campground beach. It has one of the nicest outside shower. And the backyard is great! Owners make it an easy place to hangout!!

Home Away From Home

We loved staying at the Barking Urchin for our week at the Cape. It felt like our home away from home. Clean and cozy with a beautiful yard, wrap around deck and new outdoor shower, it has all the amenities for a wonderful stay. Highly recommend - I know that we’ll be back!

Wonderful Eastham Vacation House

This was our third time staying at the Urchin. We enjoyed family whiffle ball games in the yard, unwinding after the beach, reading, and eating dinner on the deck. The inside space is very inviting and comfortable. Great finished basement area too for the kids to hang out in.

Great stay

We had a great stay at the Barking Urchin. The hosts were very communicative from the beginning, answering little questions by email, etc. The house is in a great location, and we spent lots of time at both the bayside beaches and the ocean beaches. Lovely porch and yard - my favorite was the hammock (very peaceful). We were there during a heat wave, and the air conditioning units kept the house cool. Everything we needed in the kitchen! There were four of us staying there, and the downstairs area was nice for people to do Zoom calls and yoga. It was wonderful to have the laundry machines.

Wonderful house on the cape

We had a great week stay at the Barking Urchin in Eastham. House is on a quiet street, a mile from campground beach, easy bike ride to rail trail, convenient to coast guard and nauset beaches. House is very comfortable with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a great outside shower, nice wraparound side back deck and a firepit for those cool Cape evenings. Kitchen had everything we needed. Looking forward to future stays at The Barking Urchin!

Barkin Urchin is amazing

This house is super great for a trip to Cape Cod! it is has a great location, a lovely property and was very comfortable for my family of four. I loved the loft master bedroom, the outdoor shower, the quite location which is very close to Wellfleet and some of the best oysters in the world. A great stay. Thank you

Great stay, very responsive to questions .

Enjoyed the high lofted ceilings, having the King sized bed upstairs with it's own bathroom. The basement was also very nice when parts of the family wanted to stay up and watch a movie. The desk in the basement was also helpful for catching up on some work.

Wonderful Cape Vacation

Stayed with our family of 4 and my dad. Plenty of space for everyone, with nice open living area and finished basement. Beautiful backyard where the boys can play and plenty of shade as well. Back deck is a great place to relax after the beach. Great location with easy access to beaches and restaurants. This was our second time staying here.

The best rental ever

5 stars don't do justice to this truly remarkable in every way vacation rental. I need at least 7. Everything was as comfortable as home. The owners were two steps ahead of every wish that we had. Backyard is very private and very comfortable even for a big group of people. Place was very clean, tidy, kitchen fully ready for new people. Lis goes on and on. My only concern is that after this review this place might not be available for us next time... Anyway, I thank the owners and applaud them. Thank you.
